The winter refurbishment dates for both Walt Disney World water parks are now available.

Blizzard Beach will be closed from January 4 to March 14 2015, reopening to guests on March 15 2015.

Typhoon Lagoon will be closed from October 26 2014, to January 3, reopening to guests on January 4 2015.

The Garden View Tea Room (located at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa) closed for refurbishment on June 30 and was originally scheduled to be closed through August 29. The refurbishment has now been extended until September 2, reopening September 3. During this timeframe, the My Disney Girl's Perfectly Princess Tea Party seating time will be 10:00 a.m., and Afternoon Tea seating will begin at 12:45 p.m., with last-seating at 2:25 p.m. The events will be held in Cítricos.

New menu items are now available for Walt Disney World Resort Guests to enjoy at the quick-service restaurants located at both Disney's Pop Century Resort and Disney's Art of Animation Resort. Landscape of Flavors (Art of Animation) and Everything POP (Pop Century) have new items on their breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus. These new food offerings became available starting from Thursday, August 20, 2014.

Do you remember the recent MyMagic+/FastPass+ downtime experienced all around the Walt Disney World Resort and the incredible mess it brought with it? Well, it looks like Disney learned a lesson from that event. In fact, attractions areas are now receiving mobile redemption devices to use when fixed Disney Access Portals (touch points) are experiencing a downtime. These devices will be available for use at each Walt Disney World theme park (when needed) starting August 26.


The same devices are currently already being used for FastPass + viewing locations (for firework shows, parades, and so on), and consist of an iPod Touch encased within at sled with a touch point.

The parks will start using these devices on different dates, starting from August 2014, as stated before:
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park: Aug. 26
Disney's Hollywood Studios: Sept. 2
Epcot: Sept. 5
Magic Kingdom: Sept. 9

DCA is getting Oswald the lucky rabbit starting September 14th.

Disneyland will start installing new firework equipment after the holidays to prepare for the new 60th celebration. The old fantasy in the sky show will return on the weekends beginning January 9th.

It will start in spring and probably last the rest of the year. The big things will last longer like fireworks and parade.

Construction is going to begin on seating areas for Rivers of Light the new nighttime spectacular in AK. Walls will go up in Asia and Dinoland next week.

World showcase players leave sep. 25
Off kilter, mo rockin, and spirit of America leave sep. 27
British revolution may also be leaving but that is not confirmed

Jingle cruise is returning starting November 7

Pangani trail refurbs start next week. The aviary, hippo exhibit, and the research outpost will be closed until November for refurb.

We are upon the last week of American idol, and I do know permits were filed for signage removal of American idol so maybe disney does already have a plan for this area.

That was done for a reason, folks. To give "For the First Time in Forever: A 'Frozen' Sing-Along Celebration" someplace to move to in late October so that the Premiere Theater can then be prepped for the "Comedy Warehouse Holiday Special."

Disney has today announced that the new Starbucks at Disney's Hollywood Studios will be named "The Trolley Car Café."

Opening in February 2015, the new Starbucks will open in the former L.A. Prop Cinema Storage store on the right side of Hollywood Blvd. The building is currently walled off for the remodel.

The Trolley Car Café will be the third in-park Disney operated location at Walt Disney World, joining the Main Street Bakery at Magic Kingdom, and the Fountain View at Epcot. There are also two Starbucks operated locations at Downtown Disney.
