New Pearl tier benefits

Most of the Wish crew came from the other ships 🤷‍♂️

We've sailed all 5 and have always had exceptional service on each. Most recently, on the Wish, we had really good service in the Hyperspace Lounge and a lovely conversation with the bartender (whose wife happened to work up in Cove Cafe, though we never got there to meet her). We found guest services to be exceptional on the Wish as well. We have a tradition of getting something signed by the captain each sailing and they apparently ended this opportunity during the Covid pause and didn't bring it back. The guest services team took our item and got it signed by the captain and returned it to our room for us, within a couple of hours. Maybe they signed it themselves, who knows, but we'd never know the difference :P

You must not read these boards much then...
I read these boards almost everyday. I have read the reviews of the Wish starting with the inaugural cruise until the most recent. Some people liked it, some people didn’t, for others it was a mixed bag. I don’t think anyone has paid thousands of dollars to sail on the Wish with the intention of disliking it.

Just wait, 10 years from now when there are to many Pearls, they will introduce the Opal tier. 50 sailings. Will include all the perks of Pearl, but you get to book new cruises 5 days before public, book experience 124 days before sailing, and get an exclusive keychain! (No opals on the keychain, sorry)
Used to get free DCL keychains when you reached silver. 🤣

Yea, outside of Silver, the loyalty program is meh. Silver isn’t anything spectacular, but I don’t expect it to be.

The only ship we haven't sailed on is the Wonder.

The people who are intent on disliking the Wish will continue to voice their opinions as loudly as possible. We felt the level of service on the Wish was just as impeccable as the other 4 ships we've sailed on. With DCL its always been "Where do we want to go?" Which i what usually decides the ship for us.

We are at 8 cruises, another lifetime away from Pearl. It would have been nice to see a few more upgrades in perks (Free laundry, free Remy/Enchente, or even an OBC?) but at the end of the day, all companies are slimming down their free offerings and making rewards more challenging to use. The photos is a nice savings if you use it. That's $200 bucks per sailing so not terrible. We don't take enough pictures for that but some certainly do.

At the end of the day, Disney has every right to offer whatever they want for their Return cruisers. They could offer nothing at all and we would just have to deal with that. If you want different perks, you'll have to sail with a line that offers them. I doubt we'll see any sort of change in this regard on Disney's side anytime soon.

Most of the negative commentary I've seen regarding the Wish is about the physical issues associated with the design and I wouldn't characterize those people (myself included) as intent on disliking the Wish but rather they experienced the Wish (and for me multiple times) and found that I disliked it. I will voice that opinion when I see others saying there's absolutely nothing wrong with the Wish, everyone should love it. I understand it is a beautiful ship and it certainly caters to the cruising likes of certain people, but it has a lot of drawbacks and misses the mark for a lot of others.

I voice my concerns with the Wish and the loyalty program with the hope that if enough people complain maybe DCL will listen and make meaningful changes.

I had very high expectations for the Wish. Over the last few years I have been very impressed with their new rides in parks. I kind of expected that "wow factor" to carry over to the new ship. Let's hope the Treasure is better.

I'm hoping too.

If TRON is any indication, don’t get your hopes up.

I didn't even have high expectations for the Wish, just normal expectations. I went in expecting to love her the same as the other ships, and didn't (though I did find aspects I liked).

Heck I went into this launch for Pearl thinking it would be something special, but so far it is only what was promised, another level. So far levels have meant booking windows and a few small things. In retrospect I'm not sure why I thought this would be different but they way they touted it and all the slow secrecy around what it was going to be built it up.

We haven't been on the one in Florida but it was such a short ride in Shanghai.... if they were going to bring something over I wish it would have been their version of Pirates. And still keep the old one. Pirates everywhere!

Not good. Very short ride, not real comfortable and not as “thrilling” from a rollercoaster perspective as GOTG, IMO of course.
Rise, FOP, MMRR and GOTG have been great IMO. This sounds like a fail similar to Mine train. That's disappointing to hear since they've been working on this thing for like a decade.

My first question after riding it was why did it take so long.

That was my first question after Mine train. My favorite Coaster in Orlando is Velocicoaster and that took like a minute to build. I expected the Treasure to be delayed at least a year.

I doubt it. The big blocks are already built and on the way to the yard where they'll be put together. There's still plenty of time to build the ship and sail it by some time in 2024.

I had the same thoughts about Pearl and I feel kind of foolish now thinking they would do something special for long time cruisers. Should have known better at this stage in my life. Oh well.
