New Hotel Thread Here The First One Reached Its Limit-READ 1ST POST IMPORTANT INFO

Just got off the phone with them....they said the promotion has definitely been cancelled. Also stated that they will be going bankrupt after the lawsuit.
 
Well here has been my lovely adventure with them even AFTER getting the promo. I booked CSR for 9/2009. I was worried that this whole free hotel thing is a scam so I called Disney. The first CM I got was supposedly able to look it up and even link my room to my BIL's room (his was booked through WDW). However, I called back to make sure it was showing paid and got two CM's who said it is "impossible" to look up a 3rd party ressie. So I thought well maybe they don't normally check. I mean if you book Expedia I guess they don't have it in their system until later. So then I go to book magical express following the directions LMT gave me. The website doesn't exist. So I call and ME says they have never even heard of LMT, but if a ressie does exist it won't show up until 30-45 days out and then I should be able to call back and schedule. Is anyone else having all of these problems? I guess I worry that this whole thing is a scam or that LMT will go out of business by then. Has anyone ever booked ME using a 3rd party?

Well, that's true that Disney can't change a reservation by another travel agent. I know first hand that indeed, they CAN "see it". They'll tell you they cannot, they'll insist it's not possible - - because people would pepper them with requests for changes if they didn't "play dumb".

So probably what happened with you is you got a CM who broke protocol and read you what they CRO system was showing, but they have no control over making changes to it. You called back and got a CM who was following protocol telling you they cannot see anything xx days out from arrival. That's pretty normal stuff, and I wouldn't see any cause for worry about that.

Re: Mear's Travel - - There are probably a zillion travel agencies and sites out there, so it's not unreasonable that they didn't know who LMT is. It's weird that the link LMT gave you to Mears was a dead link, but then that speaks to LMT's quality control and proofreading. Not a real good track record they have, so it's on them for that error.

If it makes you feel better, I've heard of LMT long before this promotion. I think they used to be affiliated with Site59.com or 11thHour.com. At this point, I would not be concerned about them not honoring your trip from last week. Maybe you could call LMT's customer service and ask them to give you something in writing before you book airline tickets? Not sure what kind of customer service you'll get, probably dismal. I think you're okay though. Now if they go out of business or bankrupt... that's a whole 'nother story.

LMT said that she thinks that the sale didn't happen yesterday, but she knows for a fact that the promo is still active. She said that they're trying to figure out why it didn't happen, but LMT is aware that there are a lot of upset people. She said that there won't be two promos in one day because that's not the promotional rules. So she said to stay and wait.

I am hating them too.
 
I think it's still undetermined that the deal is off - the link that some have posted seems fishy (really not all that hard to make something look like it came from the official website).

However, it is clear that LMT has changed the terms and conditions of their promotion several times yesterday.

Clearly they have a poor legal department that did not advise them on how to word t&c's appropriately to make it clear to customers what they will be responsible for (that this was a contest, not a sale).

It also appears that they are doing everything they can to minimize the number of customers that can take advantage of the offer/contest (which is what they should have done in the first place instead of leading us on like this was a sale open to everyone).

They have lost the potential of my business. I will need to re-evaluate what lengths I will go to for a Disney vacation (after 18 straight hours, less 30 minutes travel to/from work, yesterday being on their website).

I'm really happy for those who *won* and hope you'll bring back a little pixie dust for us!pixiedust:
 

I think the ended deal link was fake because there was no connection to their main website. Also when you highlighted the link change was spelled chenge. The wording is not that great either.
 
Can you believe it?! It was handled very poorly. They probably lost A LOT of potential customers, really a bigger loss for them than for us. It was fun participating on this thread though, so not all was lost.;)

I'm happy for everyone who got their rooms last week !! :cheer2: I wasted WAY to much time on this but that was my own fault, not LMT's... I do feel jipped since there wasn't even an opportunity to get my free room, but i'm not going to harp on it, it's not going to do any good :rotfl:
 
It was fun participating in the thread ! so not all was lost !

You know, I stayed up until 1am and had one of the funniest evenings ever on a chat board. I can't say it was a complete loss...at least I got a lot of laughs out of it!
 
How was it handled? What time did you go to bed?

That's just it, it WASN'T handled at all. I went to bed shortly after you did. With 1800 people in the chat, there was no way they were going to open it up for 1.00 booking. They do have the right to end the promotion.:rolleyes:

I can't even describe how awlful I feel. I can't believe I wasted a day of my life and my families lives over it. I sat at the computer for 25 hours. I passed out knowing that it would go a minute after I fell asleep. On Fri I waited and fell asleep at 1:10 and missed it. THen signed on 1 minute after it went in the am. I felt so close and I just thought I would make sure I was on for a chance at it Mon. I never thought a company would lead people on with emails and be so deceitful. It will take 3 days of sleep for me to recover and I'll never have yesterday back with my family. My DH is furious with me. I thought he would feel sorry for me, but he is just mad. He asked "what are you doing today? Looking for BigFOot?"

Thats awful that he is mad at you!! I had the exact same experience---until you got to that part. My husband does feel bad------I think he was leery though to begin with!

I'm in the same place you are---they sent me an email on Friday that said to be ready for Monday, and I was. I spent 26 hours in front of the computer and was not given the opportunity to even try. It's not that they cancelled the promotion, it's that they didn't tell anyone they were doing it and wasted our time waiting for it. I think it's really irresponsible to do that to people when this economy is so rough and lots of people wouldn't be able to vacation without a deal like this. It's not that they owe it to us---I never would have dreamed of such a deal as $1 hotel rooms, I just think it's cruel to say they would do it and then not.
