New free dining offer yeaaah

Also, since I have a Disney Visa .. do I have to use it.. even though I do not want to? I thought if I had to, I could just put $200 and use the rest as cash...

I was wondering this too, i would love to book early if the dv offer comes out but i dont want to put the whole trip on there, do you have to use it for the whole ressie or just some???

Thank you to everyone for all the great info! Im excited!!!!!!!

I would charge the entire trip on my Disney Visa just to earn the rewards points! :yay: Then I would turn around and pay it off if I already had the money to pay it off quickly. But, that is just my opinion!!

yes, after the release of the offer you must call and they will apply the discount to your reservation, you are very lucky because your check in day is the last day of the promotion but it will apply to all of your stay:thumbsup2If you have buyed directly with Disney you must call cro or if you have buyed by travel agent call him and ask to apply this new code, have a magical nigth:wizard:

when did this start?

THanks for your responses everyone.

Just to clarify, since I already have an existing reservation with room and tix, I will need to call at 7 am and hope and pray they have rooms available with the discount.

Also, I booked 2 rooms, one for us, one for my parents. Will I be able to get the discount on both?

As long as it is available at your resort you will be able to get it for both rooms.

Free dining and other package promotions have always worked that way. Room rate discounts do not.

If you check in on an eligible date for free dining, or kids stay/play free, or 4 for 3, or free ticket upgrade offers you qualify for that offer because those are offers that are applied as length-of-stay.

Room rate discounts like the current bounceback or percent-off codes are calculated night by night with blacked-out dates priced at the undiscounted rate.

No, my guess would be the fact that Disney Visa holders have not been mentioned. In the past DV holders have ALWAYS gotten the free dining offer 3 days before the general public. I will be shocked if DV holders don't get first dibbs on this offer - it's really the only decent perk of having a Disney Visa.

Of course, this is all specualation, like everything else on this thread . . .

I have DV, do they email us with the information?

Thanks for the responses (as always..very helpful)

I'll of course call on Wed and see what happens with the CM. Maybe I'll luck out and they'll give me the free dining anyway even though I'm checking in one day earlier (or maybe even better they'll be a change in policy. Has anyone ever lucked out and got free dining when checking in a night before the free dining started???? Or is this a STRICT disney policy?)

On a side note...if I do have to make two reservations (one for a room only for my first night and then a 2nd reservation for a package for the remainder of my trip to get the free dining)...Can i still buy tickets seperatley for the parks for my first day of arrival or is Disney not going to let me do that either?

Thanks for all the help!

You don't need separate tickets. You can pick up your package tickets a day early at guest relations at the park.

I only ask/vent because it makes no sense that if your check in date is on the LAST day of free dining you'd get free dining for your whole stay. But if it's one day before free dining is offered you "dont qualify."

Man it's been particularly frustrating booking my Disney trip this year lol

Yes, it can be frustrating and I understand where you are coming from. However, it really does makes sense if you look at it from a business point of view, as Disney does. They must have a definitive start date for all their promotions. If it was "flexible" then there would be not limit to the amount of people that would be asking for the promos. And it does make business sense for Disney to allow you to keep the promotion if your trip extends beyond the promo dates b/c otherwise, they may be encouraging guests to shorten their stays. For example, if the promo ends on a Wednesday and you had planned on staying through Friday, you may be drawn to just end your trip when the promo ends to avoid paying full price. By allowing you to carry the promo through, they get more of your business. Just my two cents.......... and I know it doesn't make you feel one bit better.... sorry.

There really isn't a reason to purchase a separate ticket for your first day .... just purchase enough days for your entire trip. They will allow you to pick up the tickets up to 3 days prior to the start of your package. You can of course buy one day tickets but this would be quite a bit of added expense.

We are booked at the allstar movies on 10/4-10/8. i booked room only. i have an annual pass and i bought a park hopper for my husband from undercover tourist. Will i be able to convert this into a package reservation somehow so i can take advantage (hopefully) of free dining? Thanks.

Hi there. I have a question about ADR's. I currently have a reservation for Sept 30th-Oct 6th. If the dates listed are correct I will have to split the reservation in two. Sept 30th-Oct 2nd and Oct 2nd-Oct 6th. That is not a problem for me, I will just book enough tickets on the free dining package. My problem is what about the ADR's I have linked to the current package. Will those still be valid if the package is shorten? Or will I have to rebook them? I have never had to do a split stay before, so I'm a little confused. I wish they would just extend the current FD offer and cover my whole trip. Lol. Thanks for any help.

Dining reservations will still be valid as long as you do not cancel them.

So even though they are linked to a reservation that will not cover those dates, they won't be canceled? Like I said, I've never dealt with anything like this before.

I can't be certain but from what I have read on one TA website, Disney expects you to pay for the entire vacation on the Disney Visa.

That is incorrect. In the past all you have had to put down is the minimum $200.00 deposti to take advantage of the Disney Visa free dining offer. You do NOT have to pay the entire balance on your Disney Visa.
