My DS and his GF stayed there (Collins Ave./Sheraton) for 2 nights this past May. They just finished spending 3 nights at the Dolphin in a corner king. Then they spent one night at PBH. So they were a little let down when they got to this Sheraton. It is hard to leave a 5 star property and move to a 3 star! They did get upgraded to a ocean view suite because of Platinum SPG. They said it was ok but definatly not the Ritz! It was convenient though and the price was right. It is very close to South Beach. Hope this helps.

Jgates~LOL...and our DD is allergic to them! She takes zyrtec to permit her to "tolerate" them (physically). She truly adores them...and played w/them for hours last eve. They will have great homes.

*Still jazzed about the tickets! I'm wishing I could attend the BIG teddy Bear and Doll festival in WDW, and stay at the beautiful WDW DOLPHIN. But, I'll have to settle for the BIG AL Country Jamboree STEIFF bear instead! A DF is going to attend, and obtain a signed edition of this collectible for moi. I've never been to a show, but have every Steiff edition!

In a couple of days...I'll be IN THE MAGIC! Of course, it's much different than WDW, and the DOLPHIN. BUT...it's STILL "DISNEY!"

HI EVERYONE!! (kids at special... I am typing like a mad woman)

First.. Yeah to MomPOppins and Baby Kirk.. and to Muffy! If you need me to go to Florida again so everyone gets good news I can do that! I am so glad to hear that everyone has good news on their tests!

The conference in Tampa went very well and was VERY informative! On Saturday my mom drove up and we drove across to Disney. We were upgraded to Savannah view and all I can say is WOW! I don't have time to go into details right now, but a few points

I now own an AP!
Walk-through of the Swan was loved by mom!
Mission Space!!
WISHES!
Shopping pass for mom on Monday worked wonders at MGM thanks to Lisa's information!
BOMA!
Giraffes and friends every morning outside my balcony!
Great Taxi service from the Swan to AKL *feet hurt.. took the short cut out of Epcot*
Coffee made by mom always tastes better!

It is hockey/laundry tonight... .and probably all week long. I will write more when I have a chance! Have a Disney Week!

(And I thought I was the only person whom used the phrase "mad woman"...LOL). It's amazing what that little "shopping pass" can do for a person! I have used it too many times to count. They'll give you one at ANY park, including Sea World and U. Studios. You can even have FREE PARKING, as you are NOT VISITING the park for the day, etc. Make sure to inform them at the Parking gate of your intentions (for a shopping pass). It has been a life-saver when I have passed-over a purchase, only to regret it the next day (especially once you have left the park and no longer have tickets!). It's a GREAT benefit.

I can hardly wait to read all the details of your trip. Your little one-line teasers are making me drool! Hurry back!!

Thank you for pointing out that there is an Alamo at the Dolphin also! Their rate was about half of what National would charge!!

We will be renting a car from Alamo to go to Universal.

Hello girlfriends --

Long time no post -- but you have all been with me as I have travelled all over the place -- most recently in Longview, TX. Always comforting to have you guys around in a lonely hotel room. I go to my brain tumor board when I want people to commiserate with -- but I visit this friend when I need a laugh or smile. Thrilled to see a lot of good news -- congratulations to Mom Poppin and Muffy on getting great medical reports.

Debbie -- trip with your mom sounds great -- made me think of my last trip with mom. Can't wait to hear all of the details.

Disbug -- don't laugh -- I have no idea how to even pick up a pm, you will have to educate me on this point!

Everything here is going along pretty smoothly -- mom is still hanging in there. We never thought she would be here to see Thanksgiving, but it looks like she will be which is great. For a while, we went through a rough patch when she couldn't hear and couldn't really generate speech due to the tumor. For some unknown reason, she now is talking and some of her hearing has come back. Her vision problems are still there - but at least she can enjoy hugs from her grandkids and is not in any pain. We look back fondly at our last trip. She still laughs about the 11 scoop sundae we ate at the Dolphin fountain.
