:wave2: Hi, Lauren - so glad hear from you.

You now can purchase starpoints. I just received a packet in the mail from Starwood. If you use your Starwood Amex cc to purchase points, there is some special deal. i don't have the info in front me. Just an FYI and to stay on topic. :D

We will be renting a car from Alamo to go to Universal. :)
After YEARS of using only "National" (The OFFICIAL CAR RENTAL AGENCY of WALT DISNEY WORLD), am thrilled to see ALAMO take over the HELM! I too....shall be using ALAMO this summer. Enjoy! :sunny:

Disbug~I'll PM you asap. You KNOW I want one! I'll send the $$ via paypal account. Thanks sweetie, for all the work you have done on this matter. You're our little "entrepreneur" sister! ::yes:: Wishing you the most MAGICAL TIME in the WORLD!

mouseteacher~Hope you enjoyed the conference. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your DH!!:wizard: :cool2: *P.S. I would LOVE the Starwood info, I've received nothing in regards to this feature. I would be very happy to purchase starpoints using my AMEX. Thanks for mentioning this news!

Zwife~IT ALL WORKED as it was meant to BE! Wonderful news, you must be turning cartwheels!! :hyper:

joshua4 ~Always a pleasure to hear from you, Lauren! So happy your mom is able to share in the festivities of Thanksgiving (such a special Holiday for Families). Most of all...she is BLESSED to have you as a daughter, sharing her "life" and bringing so much joy into her world. Every moment she is with you...she is LIVING. Remember...LIFE is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. God Bless you and yours this Holiday Season. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

DF~ Your PM box is full - time to house clean!

Here's the info on Starwood Purchase Plan:
$25 = 500 points
Starwood Amex cc holders receive a 10% discount on all purchases of starpoints. This means 1,000 starpoints cost only $45. There is a minimum 500 starpoints purchase for individual.

mouseteacher~Thanks for the notice~! I'm so busy "cleaning house" aruond here (I FOUND the tickets...He He), I forgot my DIS house (PM box). I'll go there asap.

That is GREAT news about the Starpoints! Wow...that's a pretty good deal, one I may have to jump on. I can always use more points, and buy them whenever the opportunity arises.

Thank you, again...for posting this FAB piece of info. Any more inside tips? :scratchin

Of course you wouldn't have to stay at the Wyndham. :D

Hello to all. I have been lurking for months and I finally have a reason to post a question to you experts!!:D We just decided that we might go to WDW over spring break, but I need the teacher discount. Swan/Dolphin direct reservations said they were sold out. Is it possible that DreamsUnlimited could still get me the teacher rate? Any help would be greatly appreciated since this is our first trip!!!
:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

:wave2: Welcome kctinkerbelle - Absolutely try DU. They have been able to get ressie using the teacher rate even when the S/D says they are unavailable. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

I am laughing at the coffee posts! I took my starbuck "extras" from the Innisbrook Westin and used them in the AKL coffee maker. Much better than their coffee! But, as I have said in the previous teaser, "coffee made by mom always tastes better!".

Lauren>> So glad to hear from you! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! (and my other "sisters" too!)

Still can't finish my teaser post. I am finally home tonight w/o a hockey game to get anyone to!

Welcome all the new posters! You're at the best thread in the DIS!

I miss you guys!

*wave to all*
Debbie

:wave2: Hi, Debbie. I'm so glad you and your mom had a great time. I need more details !!! - that vicarious thing, you know. ;) How do you feel about AKL v. S/D?

Patiently waiting for out sorority mug to arrive. Just think, the mug can be our cyber connection as we DIS and drink java... particularly when we are logged on at the same time. :cool1:

Kudos to Disbug for her work on this. :lovestruc

Leaving for DISNEYLAND in a FEW hours! YEAH!!! :jumping1:

I'm going to be "soaring over California" in no time! Also, dining at the Rainforest Cafe, enjoying a Boudin Sourdough bread bowl filled with Hot Clam Chowder, playing in the new BUGS LIFE attraction, enjoying the Holiday Haunted Mansion, driving my Chevron Autopia Car (I collect all the Chevron cars!), Hanging out near the Blue Bayou in N'awlins...and just TAKING IT ALL IN! I can hardly wait. :hyper: Nothing on this earth (Short of Christmas eve), makes me feel this child-like!

Welcome kctinkerbell~ :wave2: Definitely...give DU a try. They always seem to be able to come through when all else fails.

mouseteacher~HERE, HERE!! I'll TOAST to that in my NEW Sorority MUG too. :teeth: THANKS to DISBUG...for all her amazing work. "BELIEF and IMAGINATION MANIFEST REALITY."
Enjoy the weekend...I'll think of you while whirling about in the midst of the MAGIC!

#1hockeymom~ HELLO!

robmax~sounds like a winner. Are you IN?

*TTFN to all my SISTERS & BROTHERS of this faithful thread. Tomorrow at this time, I'll be "WALT"zing about the streets of the KINGDOM of the MOUSE, and awaiting the SNOWFALL on Main Street (ONLY DISNEY does it BEST!). You'll all be with me in SPIRIT.

:wave2: DF99

Have fun sweetie!!! I am soooo jealous. I haven't been to Disneyland since 1975! Quite a long time! Make sure you have some wonderful pictures to post when you get back - and give Mickey a hug from Jenny!

I really appreciate all of your expertise! I have yet another question. I have now booked the Dolphin in March but they only have 5 of my 6 nights. They say they are sold out the next three nights after my 5th night. I'm on some sort of wait list, what are my chances I will get the 6th night and will I get the teacher rate or a higher rate? My flight does not leave till later in the day and the thought was we would still do parks on that day.
I could try DreamsUnlimited, but I need a phone number because my parents are going with us, but only staying a few of our 6 nights. Does anyone have their phone number?
I really appreciate all your help and I have a feeling that I will have more questions later on!!
;) ;) ;)

I'm leaving tomorrow for WDW - staying at the Dophin in a standard room. Are there irons/ironing boards in these rooms? I want to be absolutely certain as there are a few things I'm taking that need to be ironed and I don't want to do it tonight! (I'd much rather just get on the DISBoard and see if I can put off ironing even a little longer!) Also, anybody know what floor their on with the renovations? I'm hoping to try one of those Heavenly beds!

WOW! WOW! WOW! LEAVING TOMORROW! :teeth:

Hockeymom, I'd like to know if you prefer AKL to the S/D too. We LOVED AKL but prefered the location of the Dolphin. The Dolphin is so much more than location! I can't say one bad thing about AKL though. It is a spectacular resort and I'm so happy you and your mom enjoyed it. Tell us more when you have time!

Mouseteacher, I can't wait for our mug too! Disbug said they are on the way to her. Then she is mailing them to us! All of us got flu shots yesterday (even DD 13). Why risk the flu with our trip around the corner? I am deep into planning mode and even purchaced "tour guide mike" yesterday. So far i think it is a great tool for WDW veterans (and newbies).

DF, Have a great time at Disneyland! Give Mickey a smooch for me!

kctinkerbell, DU has been able to get rooms at the S/D when they seemed filled. I would give them a try. Sorry, I don't have a phone number for them.

Goofitup, YES they have irons/ironing boards in all the rooms! Call the front desk and have a robe sent up as soon as you get there. Why pack a robe? Have a GREAT time at WDW and the Dolphin!

Muffy

DF~ Have a magical time! My first exposure (first trip to a Disney theme park) to the magic of Disney was DL in 1976. I was addicted and enchanted upon my first steps into that wonderful place! So, DL has a very special place in my heart.

Please give Mickey and the gang my :love1: :love2:

Off to work...Happy Friday, all! :wave2:

Hi gang and newbies too:wave2: .....good to see you. Someone posted a while back that they had read we were too 'off topic', which is true sometimes, but if anyone has a question, please pop in and ask and someone here will know the answer. THIS is the place to be!
I can't believe that on Nov. 20 it was 75 degrees here. I hope that doesn't happen at Christmas....ONLY when I am in Disney World! Not this year though...

I will chime in with trying Dreams Unlimited. Have only heard good things about them and seems they can get rooms when you can't. Have a wonderful trip and think about all of us back home working!

Off to school....:moped:
