I made 12 orders at GC .com, 9 of which were physical DGCs that totaled ~$2800. I did not pay for tracking because I didn't want to eat into the stacked discounts and I had never had an issue previously. All arrived ok.

FWIW, I also received my first order of Disney gift cards from giftcards.com today. I also got my Chase credit from my offer as well.

My second order wasn't placed until late on Friday 12/20. It appears that they too little longer to ship out but the tracking says they were shipped, on their way and I should get them Saturday.

First off, it depends what type of Visa gift card you received.

If you got a Metabank or Pathward Visa (it will say on the back of the packaging "This card is issued by Metabank or Pathward...), those are the best ones as they pretty much can be used anywhere without a problem as long as you register them first.

If you got a Vanilla Visa or a Virtual Visa or one from some other bank, those are the ones as you said that are tricky to use as they don't seem to work at a lot of merchants. Usually those will work at Amazon or they should work in a physical store. (There are probably other online retailers they will work at, but if you try one that it doesn't work at, it can end up freezing the card.)

I happened to receive a Vanilla Visa as a gift this week. What surprised me is that, upon removing the card from the packaging, there was an 'activation' procedure required. (My understanding was that the initial purchaser activated the card when buying it, but I guess that is no longer the case.) Anyhoo, I called the number, activated the card, then went to Meijer where the card didn't work. Last night I logged in to the Vanilla website and selected a PIN. Tomorrow it's Round Two! Maybe I'll actually get to buy something.

Vanilla Visa's have a high rate of not working at all even though the funds are on the card and then when you call them, they say they have to send you a new card in the mail. I have had this happen to me twice in the last 3 years (and I only bought 7 or 8 Vanilla Visa as I try to stay away from them like the plague).

You have to wonder if they do this on purpose in the hopes that some people won't bother with the hassle and will give up and not end up using them.

Yesterday my USPS preview email showed our second order, two cards in two separate envelopes, had arrived at the local post office for delivery that day... Only one of the two envelopes made it to our mailbox. Sigh. Hopefully the second shows up tomorrow or I'll be calling GC too.

Online you will have to use the exact amount or less unless the online store allows you to split among 2 credit cards or if it allows you to use paypal which allows payment to be split at many merchants.

In store most grocery stores will automatically charge the amount on the prepaid visa and then will let you finish payment with another credit card.

I'm trying to use it on the Kroger buy $150 DGC and get $15 Kroger bonus card deal. I checked the Visa balance online, it is $200. I'm getting an error at checkout. I did put my information for billing name/address, is that wrong?

"We could not process this order due to incorrect billing information, the 10,000 USD daily limit has been reached, or a decline by your credit card company. Please double-check your entry, or adjust your order total. If you continue to receive this error, contact your bank or use another card."

That is the key annoying aspect of the Vanilla version of these cards: it isn't possible to register them online for some reason. I saw an option to set a PIN, which I did, but that's it.

I'd try it on another site. Or some have added it to paypal and paid that way. I think I would end up using them at target or Amazon. Doesn't get the extra 15 though.

6 Disney gc gift cards ordered by mail 12/16, 6 shipped 12/18. 4 delivered 12/23. Nothing on todays digest. Out of town until 12/31

Purchased 5 DGC from gccom on 17th and 20th, shipped 19th and 21st. Have not received any yet. Only tracked 2nd order and supposed to be here tomorrow. 1st order anyone's guess.
