I'm sorry to hear that your SIL is having trouble, but the best thing is for her to keep activity to a minimum I would guess. I know it is tough when you are planning with someone and they have to cancel, but like I always say, "there is a reason for everything, we just don't usually know what it is until after". So I send prayers and PD to your SIL, and to you for a good trip. I'm sure you will have a great time!:bounce:

This is such a sad thing. Prayers for her and the Baby will be done this evening. I will make a special request for you and your family. When you walk into the Lobby you will feel the warmth of Pixie Dust falling on you and the cares of your heart be put on hold until your return home.

I ask all of us Disney Lovers pray for the family of the man killed today at Disneyland. And for a speedy recovery for the 10 that were injured.

I think Kimmar is just being bombarded with alot of work... being the first week back to school and all! I am sure she will surface soon!
Beechparty, I hope your having an amazing time! Keeps us informed!
To everyone else with a countdown in the single digits, I am ssooo envious. Enjoy this time and know that all your time, effort and prep work will pay off ten fold!

With recent disappointments and hardships for some and the heartbreak of today's accident at DL, I almost feel guilty for posting reports of the magic we experienced! Hoping they bring a smile to some faces, though! Day 5 and Day 6 are now posted on Trip Reports.

Seems like the DIS has lot's of heartache today. My heart goes out to all of those who have pain in their lives.

On a happier note, we recieved our WL welcome brochure in the mail today. That makes it seem like maybe our trip will finally get here. In three weeks we will be at WL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes there does to seem to be a lot of hurt and thankfully a place like DIS for comfort.

Congratulations on your upcoming trip to the place we on this thread love to talk about and to get to know each other better. If there is anything you would like to know about WL just ask. No question to dumb and no item to small. Welcome and thanks for taking the time to share your happiness and excitment.

....been REALLY busy for the last few! Boy, this year's schedule is KILLER!! I envy you, Lynne and Murphy ~ have a wonderful time and think of us schmoes here at home! Well, Fred, your countdown timer is really winding down, now...it's all over but the fat lady singing!

Kimmar, glad to “see” you back out. Are you getting the Rugrats all settled down for another year?

Goodnight WL ers and all have a very special day tomorrow

I initially posted this message to the general resorts boards and received no response. Hopefully the WL veterans here can help me out!
DH and I just upgraded to concierge for our 28 Spet - 5 Oct stay at WL. We can't wait!
Can any WL concierge veteran out there tell me if all the concierge rooms are created equal? Or are there ones with a better view (like everyine else, we would LOVE to have a view of MK)?
Thanks for the info! I love this board!

I think I have an idea of what you mean. My baby sister is a Teacher and she says it is less fun each year. So to you like I tell her. Hang in there as you are the most important thing in their young lives. I know, under paid and appreciated, but if you make a difference in one life that is headed nwhere, that is the ultimate reward.

I had Sister Mary Ann in the 8th grade and she convinced me I could be, do anything, God Rest her Soul.

Checking in again.

Went to Night of Joy last night , very good but very crowded especially compared to the non existant crowds this week.
Weather is holding out fine. Rained really hard this morning but is looking better now.
WE are having a great time at the lodge. We love our room, we are overlooking the bay. The concierage staff have been great.
Majestic, I can answer any questions for you.
Will do a trip report when we get back.

TDERadulski - We stayed in room 7060 with a great view of the castle/contemporary. Check out page 101 - I posted pics there :)

Thank you for the info on the room Beth!
Can I make a room number request thru concierge services, or should I just fax the hotel a few days before my stay?

You can go through concierge and request a specific room number. However, just keep in mind that requests are just that and can't always be honored :)

Enjoy!

My sister, who is going with me, wants to know how much the fee is for the gym. I can't seem to find that info anywhere.

Thanks

I called WDW this morning to book a hotel room for our last night, Saturday, Sept. 27th. The computers were down and I was told to try back this afternoon. My DH had told me earlier in the day that he'd rather pay a little more and stay at another WDW resort than save money by staying at the Swan because he doesn't want to have to transfer our luggage himself. When I called back around 3pm the only rooms left at the WL were concierge at rack rate and I didn't really want to do that for one night. There were very few choices left at other deluxe hotels for that night as well. They did have a studio villa at the VWL available at rack rate for $279. So that's what I booked. The CM told me that when I check in on 9/20 to let the front desk know about my second reservation and that if there ends up being availability on the 27th I may be able to get a room at the lodge. So, we'll see. GF and AKL only had concierge rooms available. There were rooms at BC and BWI, but those rooms were more than the studio villa. She told me there were plenty of rooms still availabe at all the moderates and at the values. So, if I decide $279 is a little steep I can always call and change to a moderate which would save me over $162. Going to a moderate just seems like such a let down after being at WL all week. I think I made the right decision. I hope so anyway.

Has anyone here ever stayed in a studio at VWL?

What is going on that week that all the rooms at WL (except conciegre) are booked? I am headed down that week also and was hoping it wasn'going to be that crowded.

Hi there - we're going from 9/23-30th and I was checking the schedule, etc. They have added a second SpectroMagic on Saturday the 27th, and fireworks on Wed the 24th. There are some other threads about crowds, too. Current reports indicate that parks aren't crowded at all, but I was surprised to read about the second SpectroMagic on the 27th.

Anybody have ideas?

Mary

If you check the Disney site it appears that the lodge is mostly full on the weekends, but not during the week. I think I would have had an easier time getting a room if I hadn't of been needing one on a Saturday night. So, I think it's more of just a Saturday night thing more so than WDW being crowded for the entire week. I wouldn't worry.
