I'm still here - teetering between sulking in jealousy from those that are leaving soon (or are there), and dealing with the Navy (apparently my husband may come home sooner than expected - as in next week instead of 9 weeks from now), so that has been taking up my time. :P

Dog stories! Whew, glad to be one of those urbane Manhattanites;) .:p

Liv2CDWorld, I have not seen the WL at Christmastime or any other time! This is our first time in WDW since i was a kid with my parents and his first time ever and we just thought the Lodge looked really special, romantic, and festive from pictures. Can't wait to see it in person.

Fred, hang in there. It may seem like the trip is coming at the wrong time, but I bet you'll be more open to the magic than ever once you see it and see your beautiful DD enjoying it.

Courtney,

WOW! that is some good news.....I always love a surprise when it comes early! Good for you!

Fred,

Glad to hear you are hanging in there. I know it has been a difficult week for you.......the good news is we are almost there, and the magic is coming (that is, if it doesn't get rained out :( ). We are not packed yet either but getting organized. My DH is going to football this weekend as well. GO STEELERS!!!:)

Those that are wishing they were there....remind yourself that right now they are getting pounded with rain!

Have a great day everyone!

Hope that you get your wish and he comes home soon.

On a side note, did you ever get my email asking what his name was so I can post your picture in our gallery? :)

That is great news, WOO HOO

maidmarion: You are going to belive with all your heart you made the right decision. When you walk in those huge front doors, hand in hand ,and just stand there and stare.

Don't be confused by those out front with the sad faces. It is not they had a bad time, but they don't want to leave.

Looking forward to your Rookie Report.

Rain just started here and coming down by the buckets full. Very dark, but not much wind yet.

Acident in DW today.
A locomotive broke loose on Disneyland's Big Thunder Mountain Railroad roller coaster Friday, injuring 11 riders, at least one of them critically, police and hospital officials said.

Television helicopters showed a triage unit set up near the ride, and one person being wheeled to an ambulance on a stretcher.

The accident occurred at 11:20 a.m., Disneyland spokeswoman Ruthy Flores said.

The condition of the victims was not immediately known. Additional information wasn't immediately available, police Sgt. Rick Martinez said.

The roller coaster takes park visitors on a twisting, turning ride through mineshafts and caverns, past falling rocks and tumbling waterfalls.

Just waiting here in Orange Park...dark outside no rain yet. Guess that front that pushed FABIN north made TS Henri just stall.

I didn't get that email - hope you didn't think I was ignoring you!! His name is Frank. :)

UPDATE: DL reports one man has died from the Thunder Mountain accident.

We must have been under a feederband as it is letting up and getting brighter. Worst for our area will be during the night.

Now local news are saying "could"have heavy rain.....but most of the rain may stay south of us here in Clay County.

I'm sure we will get rain all day tomorrow.

They really don't know. Watched all local 5:00 PM news and had three different paths. One said it could even go into GA and miss us. Just sit tight and keep an eye on the sky, sez I

Has anyone "seen" our Leader? Did I miss one of her posts?

Well my SIL is still having complications with her pregnancy and her dr. has classified her as high risk. So, I just got official word that they will be canceling their portion of the trip. We booked together under one reservation in her name. So, when she gets home we are going to call and cancel their room and get the reservation transferred to my name. My youngest is a little dissappointed that his cousin won't be at disney with him, but I think we'll be okay. It's weird to have planned everything together all this time and then 2 weeks before the trip find out that we'll be on our own.

I have called the WL and there are no rooms available for our last night. So, now I'm trying to decide between the Swan and AKL. We are planning on spending our last day at EPCOT. So, I'm leaning towards the Swan.

FC - No, you didn't miss any of her posts. I believe our leader is MIA :)

loubelou - so sorry to hear about SIL having to cancel. Sending PD her way for the "little one". How far along is she?

My SIL is 10 weeks along. She had a miscarriage this time last year and now she's having complications again. She was put on progestrone 2 weeks ago and it seems to have helped. The baby had a very strong heartbeat today, but my SIL has been spotting for the past 3 weeks. The doctor told her today not to undertake any type of physical activity. So, that means that walking around WDW would be too much and not worth the risk. We're all praying for a healthy baby come this Spring.
