We had a wood's view room with bunkbeds for our last trip. Personally I would not want to sleep in them. They look fine for kids under 12, but I think I would feel cramped and I'm only 5 ft tall. My boys enjoyed them. However, we are not requesting bunkbeds for this trip. The room was a little darker and because they are on the side closest to the door they obstruct the view of the room and I feel they make the room seem smaller. It's also hard to watch TV from the bottom bunk. My boys have bunkbeds at home. So, they really won't care if we don't have them in our room. If they give us a bunkbed room that's fine, but I'm not going to request it.

Wow! I don't check my email for a day and I had 3 pages of stuff to read through!

FC - You mentioned the view from the lobby from one of the upper floors......I couldn't agree with you more! When we were there in May we stayed concierge and every morning we would have our breakfast at one of the tables on the 7th floor overlooking the lobby and Whispering Canyon! Incredible!

maidmarion - we'll be there at the same time! We were originally going to leave on 12/13 but I can't get a flight out that day. So, I'm going to have to back it up to 12/12.

Bear Necessities - that is one sorry looking countdown. But hey, at least you have one right ;)

SnowWhite33 - I do believe the rooms are darker. If I remember correctly, you'd be missing the light that is normally over the 2nd queen bed.

keith-atl - WOW, you're down to HOURS now! Have fun!!!!

Good Morning all!!

I have a non WL ??? today on behalf of my SIL who leaves for WDW in 2 days.....she is looking for the name and location of the store in MK where you get the mouse ears?? I am pretty sure it starts with a C and that it is on the right when you go in....if someone could clarify for me I would be grateful!!

Hope you're having a great day!!

Liv2CDWorld- YEA! We're going ot be in woods view and in a king room. Maybe you know where that is? What about you?

We requested Woods view also. I need to request north wing (where we always stay). I would also like 4th or 5th floor. As long as we are away from the stairwell - I'll be fine :)

Have you ever seen the lodge at Christmastime? It's beautiful! Wait until you see the tree

Congrats on going double digit days! :teeth:

I remember when I did quite a few pages back and look where I am already. Time flies.

I could sure use the fun now.

Fred - you are going to have a BLAST! You should see if you can request room 7060. That's the view we had. Perfect view of the castle and contemporary. It was almost as if they cut the trees perfectly around the castle.

Only downfall is that it's directly above the service area. This didn't bother us at all. We never heard a thing! The only way you would actually see the service area is by looking down.

Here's a few pics....

During the day....

Boy, can I use a little of the WL magic... right now! I bought "The Hound From Hell" last week, and came home to a house that resembled a scene from "Turner and Hooch"! I wish I was going to WDW....TOMORROW! WITHOUT THE DOG!

Cindy..............the pup will grow and become your loyal companion!

What kind of hell hound did you get? Big one? Small one? Do you still have rugs and furniture or has he eaten it all. Having just gone through the puppy phase last year with the "mutant golden retriever" (no kidding, he's huge!), it's all still fresh in my mind! I sympathize, and send PD your way.:D

Actually, his is a huge male boxer that is almost 2 years old. We have his mother who is a retired champion(6 year old), and decided to try him out(we always have 2 boxers at a time). He had broken out of his crate, eaten all the bread products on the counter, ripped down most of my floral decorations, tore down my curtains, chewed my telephone and left unmentionable items throughout my home while stepping through them! EEECK!
Fred, do you want to take a pet with you to WL? I'll even pay for his airfare!LOL!

I love to hear about 2 dog families!

Makes me feel so normal. I feel your pain. Maybe a week in WL with Majestic would be a nice change for the pup! I think the airfare would be worth it!

Goodnight all! 5:30 comes early so I have to "hit the hay"!

Hey Cindy~ my niece once had a boxer "puppy"... he coughed up her underwear one day.... needless to say, she made sure ALL her clothes were put away upstairs, even though he could break through the gate.

Ok I have not given up yet . They continue to say on the phone there are no Concierge rooms left for the week we will be there. I am going to go ahead and ask around with you guys about what room I should ask for. When I make my room request next month.I want to be able to see the Castle if we can and some fireworks . We are traveling with a special needs child that will not be able to be in the park at night sometimes. It would be special if his Mom could carry him to the balcony and let him see them :D

Thanks in advance for any help on the room .

We have a Jack Russell puppy and when she was just 6 weeks old was sweet, adorable, precious...those were the days!! She's now almost 4 months old and a terror!!! Her name was Tinkerbell-it's since been changed to Stinkerbell, lol. She's much smaller than all of the pups mentioned, but I'm betting much more hyper! Even though she's my little monster, nothing beats when she climbs up in my lap and goes to sleep-just a sweet baby then!

Well reading the DOG stories, it looks like I missed a fun night.

Having trained and showed Airedales for many years and teaching Dog Obedience for 15 yrs. I could give some help. It would require an entire thread and I don't think the Moderators would allow that.

I will suffice to say treat them and set rules just as you have with your children. They are no different. Let them know when they make you happy and when they make you mad.

First order of business is to teach them the word NO. You accomplish it by stamping your foot and saying NO in a very loud commanding voice. It has to be done while they are committing a wrong act.

I do not want to tie up this thread with it so if you have a specific problem, E-mail me and I will try to be of some help. Carrarmrac@AOL.com

FC, thanks for the words of encouragement. It has been a VERY long and depressing week. Tomorrow is the funeral and family advised everyone that it is a private service but they asked that I attend because Jon would have wanted me there. <sniff sniff>

I have to say that I am trying to say my goodbye to Jon then will attempt to re-focus my attention on our pending vacation. Either way he will be with me forever in some way.

My smile and wit are still inside but are just having a bit of a hard time getting out right now. I have a positive outlook and know that they will return soon. You will all see.

I just need a positive heavy duty dose of WDW and WL.

Thanks for all the support everyone. It really helps and means lots to me.

On a side note, we aren't even PACKED yet! Lots of work to do still. Plus, I am going to the Giants season opener on Sunday against the Rams. That should help me a bit as well.

Fred

Regardless if you get Concierge or not, you want to be on the outside of the north wing to view MK. If you do not get Concierge then a Standard or Woodsview room number would be even. Odd numbered rooms on the same floor would be Courtyard. We were in 5028 which was perfect Ratpack was in 6060, Standard, and reported a good view of MK as well. You do not want a room number any lower then 5014 as trees block the view of the Castle.

Now if none of this works out there are windows in the hall that will allow you a peek. One that I know of is at the intersection of wing A & B.
