Thanks for all the great information that keeps coming!! glad to hear the info about Brother Bear. I hope we get a chance to see it before we leave on Nov 8th!! Does anyone know if they are considering bringing a character breakfast back to WL?

Question about concierge. I have been calling for availability, but they tell me it is still unavailable for our package. If I request an upgrade at check in ( I don't mind paying a little extra), what advice would you give on how to word the request? Also, thanks for the info on faxing room requests.

Fred, I see we have a little something in common. Although it was not my first visit, we honeymooned at WDW also. And our son will have been twice before he turns 3!! We are going in November and he turns 3 the end of December!!

It's great to know there are people just as crazy about the World as I am!!!

How do you get the previous trips in the signature?

From what I have heard from several cast members (including a few managers), the chances of a character breakfast coming back to the lodge are slim. Too bad.

As for concierge, regardless of the package you booked, I believe that if concierge rooms are available, they will allow you to upgrade at checkin if you ask. I would bet the cost will be between $40 to $60 a night.

We are a disney fanatic family so yes, there are people out there just like you!!

As for the signature, go to the User Control Panel. One of the tabs there will allow you to add text to your signature. If you need more help with it, send me a PM and I will walk you through it privately.

Fred - Great PICS!!!! What time do you meet Ranger Stan? How long are you up there? I'll have to inquire about this when we go.

mom2poohfan & Fred - I guess you say we spoil our kids My oldest son will be on his 5th trip to Disney the week before his 5th birthday. My youngest just turned one and this will be his 2nd.

If they only knew.

Oh, and I'll HAPPILY say we've stayed at WL all 5 times! Just can't seem to stay away

We meet up with him at 8:15am in the lobby at the guest services area close to the mercantile. He is a REALLY NICE GUY! Read my reports from the flag family day for more info about him. He made the experience really special for us. I would say that we were up there for about 40 minutes or so. Plenty of time to soak it all in. Initially there were LOTS of bugs but I could care less.

You also get a REALLY nice 8x10 certificate signed by ranger stan and the manager of the WL saying that you were the flag family for that day. I will scan it in a few days and upload it for everyone to see.

You are a true vet of WL. I hope to say we will have done it a 3rd time before the end of the year. Looks like I may get some grief from my place of employment regarding time off so close to the holidays.

I NEED MORE PD! Send it on over peeps!

I have heard that it is unlikely they will ever have a character breakfast in the near future. Supposedly, they want to concentrate on the character meals that are available now and are more popular! Too bad...cause I had the opportunity to eat at both the Pooh and the Pocahontas and friends meals that were once offered at WL! They were great! Low key, plenty of interaction and convenience of not having to leave WL!

Hi everyone,

I have been lurking here for quite some time now....I just recently returned from the Wilderness Lodge and absolutely loved it. In fact, I was there when Majestic was there...looked for him but did not ever see him.

Just wanted to say hi and thanks for all the great tips. I am going back again in Nov (AKL) and Dec (WL) (MVMCP)...we live in Tarpon Springs Fl and the rates are to great to pass up. Can't wait to see what the lodge looks like in Dec...anyway thanks again...

Hello Everyone!!!!

It's been quite some time since I have been on the boards now, and I think I'm probably 25 pages behind! Don't know when I'm going to find the time to read it all. Things have been so crazy here with DS and high school, older DS having some health problems and needing surgery, and of course work! You all know what it's like, I'm sure. When last I read, most of you "regulars" were down to single digits, so I'm imagining that you are long back home by now. I will try to get in there and check everybody's trip reports and see some pictures. I hope you all had a wonderful, magical time! I'm sure you did because after all, IT'S DISNEYWORLD!

You can't sign up in advance. Only on the day you check in and there's usually a long list. They then draw from that list and you hope to get picked.

From what I understand, WL is the ONLY hotel that gives guests access to the rooftop AND to get there, you have to be selected for Flag Family.

OK, guys, we're leaving tomorrow!!! I am not even close to be being packed and I haven't slept in about 3 days because I have been so excited. I am sure I will crash eventually!

Anyway, I don't know if I will get a chance to check the boards later today, so I wanted to thank all of the WL VETS for all their help and advice. I am sure because of it, our trip will be that much more special!!!

Also, Majestic, I printed out the directions to the box... will try to look for it. But, I can't tell you the last time I have been "out in the woods", OK, NEVER! But, I will try anyway!

Fred, just do as I did and get yourself laid off and then there is no worry about time to go to WDW. Of course, money now comes to mind for some reason, hmmmm. Well, I hope you make it in Dec, I will be there.

Does anyone know if you can get the bedrails for the queen beds or just for the bunkbeds? Our son is a very active sleeper (I think he may grow up to be an acrobat!!), and I don't want to take the chance of him falling out of the bed?
Or, Can the queen bed be pushed against the wall?

I read on another thread that I could rent a toddler bed, but I hate to spend the money if I can get the bedrails.
