DVC Valentine's Meet and Treat underwhelmed?

Yes, thank you for the report on this. Bummer it wasn't a bit more "treat" to go with the "meet". Were there a lot of DVC members there?

Yes there were honestly quite a few! In July 2024 we were staying at BLT and they were having a summer Magic event so walked over (again in Contemporary Ballroom). That one was so empty! My family of 5 were the only ones there and it was almost creepy. Of course despite my profile pic my girls are older now and the theme of Frozen with meeting the face characters was a little awkward for them. Objectively though that one was bigger since we basically met the entire Frozen cast and got a picture with Anna, Elsa, Olaf.

My daughter was nervous that this Valentine's Day greet would be similar but it was not at all. Still not enough crowds to justify all the CM's they had there but it was steady group of people coming in and leaving. There was a line for Ariel and Eric. It is worth going too if you have littles and/or it isn't too hard to get there. If you are a couple on your own (I saw quite a few like that) I would not bother.

How were we supposed to find out about this? I had a DVC stay that included February 2 & 3, but I didn't know about this. I have the Membership that includes "Y", so I would be eligible, I thought. I was even in the Members' Lounge in Epcot on February 3, but there was no mention of it or signage about it.

I think it was in the email we get that shared upcoming things.

There is an email that shares upcoming things? I don't get that. I'm signed up for all communication. Can you or someone post when the last email was sent about upcoming things? I'll see if those are being directed to my husband instead. He says he doesn't remember getting anything, but if we had a date and who the sender was, maybe we can find it. Do all members typically get the email, like both spouses?

I get the email, DH doesn’t, adult DD who is a co-owner with us but lives in another city does get it.

Check your communication preferences in your profile on the DVC member website and also on the MDE website (not app). I was astonished at how many Disney related sites there are, and you can mark whether or not you want to receive communications from them. You still might not get the DVC membership emails though, unfortunately.

That was it!! I thought I was signed up for everything, but upon getting into MDE, I see that was causing the issue. it's rectified!
