I have been looking at packaging and pricing on the WDW site, and noticed the Deluxe rooms at WL.

Has anyone here ever stayed in a deluxe room? Are they in a specific area of the resort?Do they all have good views?
(Just wondering if they are worth the extra money)

The idea of a larger room really appeals to me ;-)

You WL vets are great! Majestic, great photo album you set up!

I am about to type up my room request... actually, I will be faxing it on Monday (hope it's not too late! 2 days away) Anyway, I have woods view and I believe north wing (room 5014 or so I think). How should I word it?

Also, now I would love to have Diana, but I bet she is only concierge level!

Thanks for the help you guys have been giving me in planning this trip!

If you go to www.tourguidemike.com you might be able to get a sample letter (but I think you have to be a subscriber). I will give you the generals of what he recommends:

Address it to the Wonderful Room Assigner at WL.

Ask for 1 or 2 requests only (and priortize them).

State that even though you are making these requests that you you are leaving it in their more than capable hands.

Leave your phone and fax just in case they need to get a hold of you.

Good luck! This is my first time trying this also.

We are booked in a courtyard category, Just me and my DH, so we would like a king bed, non smoking, with a nice view of the
pool and lake. (I don't want to much, haha)
We are leaving on October 3, so I though I would fax over a
request on Monday.

Thanks So Much

Here is a link that I used back on our July trip.
When we were checking in last weekend, I asked the CM, Jeanne, about this and she said no rooms are assigned until you check in. That requests that they go by is in a code on your ressie they get from CRO.

I guess my advice is if you are wanting requests that you did not make when you made your ressie, then fax. Otherwise I am not sure it makes a difference.

It was my experience that they will do everything possiable to change your room if you do not like it.

TooBoyz,

I looked into this myself. The deluxe rooms are at the end of each wing. They aren't included on any discounts (ie: passholder rates, special codes, etc).

The rooms look nice. 2 queen beds, french doors to living area where there's a pull out sofa, table and wet-bar.

However, if you can get a discount with any of their regular rooms, it would be cheaper to book two connecting rooms and still have your space.

KCDISDAD and FloridaCat: Thanks for the info!

Wish me luck... sending fax out now! :D

I added:

1) Pics of stinkerbelle and CKJ and a balcony view of the room they are in. I believe they are in the honeymoon suite! Best not be knockin on THEIR door! :)

2) Towel animal pics that Tim / Ratpack sent in. Cool ones too! Do you guys know if you had Diana as your mousekeeper?

WOW COOL! I am DROOLING! I am SOOOOOOOO glad that they are making the lodge have a part of Brother Bear. It's great to see the place getting some attention. Besides, it's the only resort that fits the theme of the movie perfectly!

Looking forward to trip reports! Hope you had a great trip!

Fred

Our mousekeeper was not Diana, can't remember her name now, but I know that wasn't it. Plus we had a standard room so I doubt the mousekeepers are the same as you guys had.

I was right.... I knew the Lodge would make a big deal with Brother Bear. We just got our vouchers and luggage tags yesterday for our Nov. 2 trip. My ds wants to see the Movie when we get down there, but I think it would be cool to see it on its opening day (Nov. 1st) and then we leave NY the next day for the WILDERNESS LODGE! Damn the torpeados, full speed ahead.

Everyone remember, if you are a Disney Club member, you can go to their website and sign up for an advanced showing of Brother Bear for free. Great way to see the movies with no crowd, we saw Santa Claus 2, Treasure Planet and Finding Nemo this way.

What is the website?...I definitely would like to sign up!

I went to the site and they said it was being closed out at the end of this year and not accepting any more memberships. Grrr
