We are taking our 2 year old to Disney in October. We will spend most of our time at MK. I have narrowed down the selection based on the location - please tell me which you would choose.

GF
Poly
Contempary

You really can't go wrong with any one of them, but personally, I would go with GF. It vibe is alot more laid back than Poly or CR and after a hectic day in the parks, your 2 year old is probably going to need to decompress in a realxed, peaceful atmosphere. Besides, IMO, as resorts go, the beauty of the GF is pretty hard to beat.

I vote for poly, the grounds are beautiful and you feel like you are in a tropical paradise. The volcano pool has a zero entry and the beach is really nice, too.
the lobby has a waterfall, and parrots, and is too die for. look at these photos
http://allearsnet.com/acc/polyss.htm

good luck on your decision.

well i would choose teh CR as you can walk there as well as take the monorail
also chef mickeys is there the kids love that
and i think its a fun placei have never stayed teh GFor poly but visited both and eaten at teh resturants there
i love teh GF cafe for lunch and poly for breakfast
i dont think you can go wrong with any
also i think the tower view rooms at Cr are amazing and a castly view to go to bed at night would be great

i have only stayed at GF and we loved it. we have 3 dd's who were 2, 4, and 7 at the time. GF has a great zero entry pool, as well as a kiddie pool adjacent to the quiet pool.

you can't beat the location of any of these resorts is MK is your primary destination. all have monorail and boat access. all have good restaurants and character meals. i suggest you check out the pictures of all of them (www.allearsnet.com has some great ones) and decide which one appeals to you the most. they all have their loyal followings, and i don't think you can go wrong.

have fun!

We always stay at the Poly. My dd, now 6 has been there since she was 3 and she LOVES it! The resort is very relaxing and FAR from hectic! It is a very laod back, family friendly resort with a terrific view, lovely walking paths, and a fantastic pool.

The Poly and the GF are my two favorite WDW resorts....decisions...decisions... :scratchin

I think with a two year old I would choose the POLY. ::yes::

You would enjoy any of the three. :rolleyes1

Good Luck!

I would choose Polynesian b/c its the only one where you can walk to the TTC which can be a timesaver. Polynesian also has the best pool of the 3.

But they are all nice resorts- if the theme of one appeals to you more than pick that one. I like the Contemporary's closeness to MK but I think the rooms are ugly (thanks goodness they are being refurbished).

I would look at the pics on allearsnet and pick which one fits your tastes the best. Or show your two yr old the pics and let him choose :teeth:

I would rule out CR immediately on the pool alone. The zero entry pools are fabulous for that age. Once you have done one, you will always want to seek them out. It really increases the kids enjoyment and decreases your stress level. Both GF and Poly have the zero entry pools.

Between GF and Poly I voted Poly just because GF would make me long for an adults only vacation :D There is no problem bringing kids to GF, and we visited it a couple of times from the Poly, but the setting made me wish that DH and I could linger endlessly over high tea and cocktails KWIM? LOL. We did do high tea with our DDs and it was a lot of fun, but with a 2.5 and 4.5 year old you aren't totally relaxing ever. At the Poly, there was a very relaxing vibe and we really enjoyed it, but I didn't have the wistfulness that there were things we could be doing without kids as much. Not only that, the beach at the Poly was a lot of fun for the girls (and the one by Tahiti is usually pretty deserted). You can also walk to the TTC from the Poly and jump on the Epcot monorail. But I would say between the Poly and GF, which ever theme seems more appealing to you.

I would choose the Poly because the pool is better for kids and they have the Ohana Character Breakfast. Ohana dinner is also really fun for kids with the coconut races ect. The atmosphere is also more relaxed and the grounds are beautiful!

I would say the CR. I love Chef Mickey's and the playground is great!!!!! Is your daughter coming with???

Oh thank you thank you everyone! Our daughter will also be coming - she will be 9 months. She is a very laid back, relaxed baby (my saving grace!) and loves just to be pushed in the stroller.

How on earth am I ever going to decide???? I guess they are all priced (closely) the same?

:confused3

The Poly. is soooooooooooo relaxing and laid back. The pool's great, the restaurants are great, the beach is great, taking the monorail to either MK or Epcot is great.

My favorite resorts are the Poly and the Contemporary. I just got back from a 4 night stay at the CR with a 2 year old! :cool1:

We had a ground floor wing room and he loved to play in the grass off the patio. The CR also has an AWESOME water area for kids to play. They have water fountains shooting out of a "soft" area right near the pool and my 2 year old fell in love with it! I actually am glad they did not have a kiddie pool b/c you would not believe the amount of people that bring their babies to the pools in regular diapers.....ugh!

I also had a code rate of 144.00 per night....that made our stay even sweeter! :teeth:

I agree that the Poly has ambience, but if you travel to Hawaii you'll get enough of that there. The GF is "the" luxury hotel, and I would LOVE to have a vacation there. I will someday soon ;) . The attitude is different between the resorts, but the GF is top-notch WDW. The Poly is more laid back. I have not stayed at either resort, but we have dined there. Your kids won't know the difference at this point, they'll enjoy any pool or any activity as long as they have your attention. :goodvibes
We are going in October with our almost 2 yr old son. We are renting points from a DVC owner and staying in a 2 bedroom at the WL. We are really looking forward to it! Maybe we'll see you there!

Hope you have an awesome time!

I had the same experience at the CR in March. My 2 year old loved playing in the grassy area off our garden wing room and on the little beach just past it. I loved being able to walk to and from MK (bring your stroller!). I also liked that CR didn't have a 0-entry pool. My 2 year old has a tendency to just keep walking in until he's under water. We like holding on to him and taking him in the big pool.

To be perfectly honest, a 2 year old would sleep in a cardboard box if they got to go to MK everyday. Stay at YOUR favorite resort. I do think GF and CR are a little quicker to get to and from MK. If money were no object, I'd stay at GF because that's my favorite resort. MK will be the first stop on the monorail and you can take the little boat back to GF when you are done in the park. When your child is a little older, the Contemporary monorail may be more impressive. Plus they are going to be rehabbing the CR and the new rooms (while probably more expensive) look awesome.

You really can't go wrong with any of the MK resorts.

I voted Poly, because I, too, found it relaxing the couple times I've stayed there and the monorail is so convenient. If the new rooms were to have been done at CR before your trip, though, I would have voted CR because the new rooms there are right up my alley!

Have fun wherever you go! Wish I had a three-deluxe-choice dilemma!
