named after disney?

We just got a rottweiler puppy and her name is Nala :)

I've been a Sleeping Beauty fan my whole life and if I have a daughter, I'll be naming her Madison Aurora. My boyfriend loves the name Madison and I love the name Aurora, after my favorite princess. Aurora Madison sounds silly, but Madison Aurora sounds beautiful together :)

My daughter goes to school with an Ariel - a boy! Now that's different.

I also went to school with a boy named Ariel. He was born well before Little Mermaid came out.

I just did a little online research and all sites I go to are listing it as a boys or girls name, meaning "lion of God".

We used to have two cocketiels named "Chip & Dale"; they were brothers (from the same clutch) and they were always doing something that got them into "trouble". (Like they chewed my 2-foot palm tree in half!) :) We miss them alot!

Right now neither of our kids (the four-legged kind) have Disney names but we do call our dog Muffy "Princess" and I call our cat "Prince Charming" (even though his name is King Alexander hyper-Troublemaker or Kaht for short).

I go to church with a lady who named her little girl Minnie.

My DD's middle name is Allison, but for some reason her daycare teacher and her daddy call her Chloe Belle, which then rhymes with our last name. I don't really care, but the grandparents are not liking it.

Didnt name my child after a Disney name but after seeing the way my neice is acting these days, we should call her Malificent.

BluOrchid2 - I adore Sleeping Beauty (she's my FAVE princess!!!) and the name Aurora. I've approached my DH about naming a dd Aurora - he has vetoed the idea. I'd love to name a dd that!!! I think I'd call her Rory for short :goodvibes

:D We call her Rora for short.

I'm 21 weeks now and if it's a girl, it will be Aurora too! Sleeping Beauty is such and oldie (but goodie) that most people don't even know what her name was. But, it's a beautiful word and not as overused as Ariel (or wierd as naming her Snow White!)

Plus the Aurora Borealis is beautiful.

Our Aurora's middle name is Eve which is a whaddayacallit thingie where the letters of the word actually stand for other words (names). EVE stands for Ernestine, Vesta, and Elsie which are my mother's name, my husband's mother's name, and my grandmother's name.

The meaning of the name Aurora is "Goddess of the Dawn," so buyer beware when choosing this name for your real-life princess. My little angel has always gotten up around 6 a.m. :sad2: :woohoo: :rotfl2:

I need to ask.............Which Disney character is named Olivia?? My daughter is an Olivia and I didn't realize there was a character with that name.......('inloveindisney' I know you mentioned this....just can't think of the character)
:confused3

YES...........I was named after a great Disney character....but my wife was the one who named me.

GOOFY!!!:lmao:

I went to High School with a guy named Walt Disney (first and last) and no he was not related. I remember hearing it and thought who would do that to their kid?? Everytime his name was called on the intercom everyone would chuckle. Poor guy! Eventually people got used to it, but still strange. I am sure though people have named thier children much crazier names than that.

i also have a dd named olivia and there is an olivia 's at old key west...but there is an olivia in some animated film (not sure if its a disney film though). my olivia also has a disney middle name -ROSE. my oldest is krystle (thats from dynasty which was on ABC.) i dont think that counts though!

Our dog is named Max, which we didn't pick because it was Disney, but it is anyway. And earlier this year, my boyfriend and I went to WDW and right after the trip we got a new kitten, so we named him Mickey! Although he really looks more like a Tigger.

BF's niece is named Alana Rose, and I don't think her mother remembers that one of Ariel's sisters has the same first name. She hates the princesses, so if she remembers she probably won't be happy. So we joke about maybe naming a daughter Ariel. But I think it would actually be pretty. And I had never really thought about Aurora before, but it's a beautiful name.

I am fairly certain that when it comes to naming my future pets, I will always turn to Disney. The possibilities are endless!

We named DD Aurora Madeleine (call her Rory for short) but she was not named after the princess....we just liked the name. We live in Europe and Aurora is a popular name there...some Italian rock star named his daughter that about 10 years ago and lot of other people followed his example (like the upswing in Lola's after Madonna's daughter).

She is 3 and obsessed with the princesses but I'm not sure how long it will last.
