My Son Loves Halloween...5/5 3 updates! Main Street, castle, statue photos

Hi Kathleen and Jacob,

Love the updates! MNSSHP looks fab!!!

We didn't take many fireworks photos our trip - I need to learn how to work my camera for our next holiday!

Di x

Thanks!

I can't wait to take the fireworks pictures. The colors are amazing. My DW just got a 10mp camera, so it should be awesome.

Thanks and Welcome!
You should get great photos! My camera is now two years old, so its only 6mp.

Ooooh yay, an update! Great videos of the fireworks. :thumbsup2

Thanks!

Awesome fireworks pictures!

Thanks!

Grim Grinning Ghosts! Love that song :goodvibes

We loved the Halloween music so much we had to get the CD.

Love all the fireworks pics and videos! Can't wait to go back next year. Its funny to think we were right there watching the show same time as you, just closer to the castle. Need to watch further back next time, even though close up was cool also.

Can't wait to hear more!

After we saw the fireworks, we didn’t have long until the second parade.
I enjoy watching the parades, but Jacob is “not a big parade person”.
So we decided to find a spot last minute, and take a quick ride on BTMRR. One of our favorites.

I love the view at the top, at night, when you can see over the MK.
I had my camera out so I could get a photo of one of my favorite views.

Outside BTMRR, looking over to Frontierland and Liberty Square:

We decided we had time to ride BTMRR one more time.
Since I’d taken a photo on the previous ride, I put it away this time.
I wish I hadn’t. The Villains Mix and Mingle was going on, and as we had that great view of the park, they set off a couple of fireworks.

Frontierland was crowded, but we found a spot in Liberty Square., outside the Christmas shop. I enjoyed seeing everyone else in their costumes. Cinderella and her step sisters were across from us. A little to the left across from us were Snow white, Sleeping Beauty, and another Cinderella. You can see them in some of the photos/videos.

Our partial view of the castle while we wait.

The Boo To You Parade!!!!
Jacob and I both took photos, I just mixed them in together. I think I was able to combine them in order.

Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and (I think) Daisy START this parade.

boo03.jpg

I Love all the characters costumes!

The Pirates arrive!
boo06.jpg

boo07.jpg

Barbossa came by. The guy next to us shouted out his name.
boo08.jpg

So Barbossa came right up and said Hi to him. Then he turned and saw Jacob’s costume. He made a comment about Jacob’s pirate costume.
boo09.jpg

More pirates:
boo10.jpg

Capt Jack Sparrow. The float was so close we almost had to look straight up. I think we were in a narrow part of the parade route. Not sure.
boo11.jpg

The Haunted Mansion characters:

boo12.jpg

boo13.jpg

The 3 Hitch hiking ghosts
boo14.jpg

The gravediggers. They didn’t spark their shovels near us. I had really wanted to see that.
boo15.jpg

From the country bear jamboree.
boo16.jpg

The chicken. She actually clucks! I find it really funny.
boo17.jpg

Time for some scary stuff:

boo18.jpg

The Big Bad Wolf came right up to me. Almost touched me with the tip of his snout.
boo19.jpg

boo20.jpg

boo21.jpg

Pluto driving the Candy Truck
boo22.jpg

Goofy and his candy company ending the parade. CM’s came by with him giving out candy. I had forgotten about that and it took us a minute to get our bags out.
boo23.jpg

I also have some videos, but they are mostly short, so I joined them all together into one video. It ended up being a bit long – almost 3 minutes. But if anyone is interested, here’s some Boo to You parade video.

Great pictures of the Boo-To-You parade! That was a fun parade. I think my favorite part was when the Headless Horseman rode by before it started. And the gravediggers are pretty cool too. The only bad thing was that I had that song stuck in my head for a long time afterwards.

Great parade pictures!

Thanks!

Awesome video! Man, that looks like fun. Halloween at Disneyworld looks like more fun than Christmas at Disneyland! :cloud9:

It was so much fun!!! That's my favorite parade now!!!
I would love to visit either DW or DL for Christmas one of these years!

The headless horseman did not go by us! :confused3
But we had tickets to a second party on Sunday night so we knew we had another chance to see him. :rolleyes1
That song really does get stuck in your head!!!

I have not had much time on my computer recently!

The kids seem to be on it more than me.

We've also just seemed to have a lot going on.
Jacob was in the Geography bee at his school last week, and he came in third place!!! It was very exciting to watch!
One round of questions gave some info and you had to tell what state they were talking about.
Jacob's question involved "Lake Kissimmee". :goodvibes
His face lit up when he heard that.

His history class is participating in National History Day this year.
He had to choose a person to do a project on and he chose Walt Disney.
He has to choose a "thesis" and he has not decided yet if he will chose creating Disneyland, or the first full length animated feature.
He can make a diorama, documentary, web page, or some type of presentation. I suggested a full model of Disneyland!!!
He thought that might be a bit much. Maybe just the castle.
Well the kids had their first assignment, to fill out some stats for a baseball card. Jacob was able to fill it out without having to look any of the info up. ;)

We had a nice Christmas!
Lots of company spread out over different days.
I cooked 5 large meals a day for 5 days!

Some Disney decorations we have:

the train
x08train.jpg

The crazy Disney Cuckoo clock my in laws passed on to us
x08clock.jpg

It plays music and the characters sing and pop out. Pluto barks to the music.

A new WallE ornament.
x08walle.jpg

Jacob liked it so much, he drew it:

Kids at the tree:

I gave Jacob a Mickey Mouse watch!

Hannah painted this picture and gave it to Jacob.

Joe's parents (Joe and Rita) came on Christmas day! They had been to Disney the week after Thanksgiving and had an amazing time. They walked in the living room, and Rita's first comment was how happy she was to see the Disney clock out!!! As soon as we were settled, she wanted to show us her Disney ride photos from Tower of Terror and Rock and Roller Coaster. She was so excited to have gotten up the nerve to go on, and she loved them! Jacob pulled out his new ipod and showed her his TOT photo which he'd already put on there!

They gave me a mickey mouse dish towel and this ornament which I love!!!!

Now, If I don't have any interruptions, I wil try to post the next two sections of trip report to finally finish day one of the trip. :rolleyes1

I have some more holiday photos on the "Seasonal Picture Fun" thread. Mine are in post 127:

We rode a few more rides.

Jacob loves the Indy Speedway. He drove and I was the passenger for a change!
hp1503.jpg

I dragged Jacob over to Cinderella’s coach for a pic.
hp1504.jpg

hp1505.jpg

We passed by Jesse and Bullseye in Frontierland.
I was so excited, I convinced Jacob to pose for a pic with them.
They were getting ready to leave and said he would be last, but then they posed with one more family as well.
hp1507.jpg

We headed over to pirates of the carribean a little before midnight. I was really really hoping it would be empty and we would get our own boat. Not a chance, there was a lot of people there. I was disappointed, so small world was our only ride by ourselves. Maybe we should have tried riding POC during the parade.

It was almost midnight and Jacob wanted to try riding the TTA.
We headed over to Tomorrowland, but it was too late.
It was officially midnight, and all the rides were closed.
Took some photos instead.

I think these guys are so cute!

We got our stuff from our locker. We spent the refund on our key deposit in the gift shop, and a bit more.
Jacob got a Mickey keychain, HM party shirt, Pumpkin lights, and a soda.

The shirt glows in the dark!

This is the time we got back to our room:
hp1523.jpg

We didn’t trick or treat a lot this night. We ended up with more candy the next party. This is what made it back to the room that night.
hp1527.jpg

I was excited to see Bottle caps and Sixlets since I hadn't had them since I was a kid.

We realized we didn’t have any pictures of the back of his costume.
hp1524.jpg

He had me take a few more:

Now came the really fun part.

1AM and Jacob is green!!! :scared1:

He started washing the paint off and it was really hard to get off. In the end, several towels were somewhat green. I ended up adding to the mousekeeping tip in the envelope for the next day. It took a while to get off. I finally remembered there were some make up remover wipes in my bag. That worked a lot better. Jacob was still somewhat tinted green for a couple of days though.

I'm still here! Sounds like a fun night at MNSSHP. Hopefully some day I'll get to go to another one because I've really enjoyed all 3 parties we went to.

And I love your Christmas decorations. That WALL-E ornament looks familiar. ;)

I'm still here, looking for more.

I love that Disney clock. That is so cool.

Glad you finally got to update, I haven't updated mine since before Thanksgiving, so don't feel bad.

Congratulations to Jacob on the placing in the geography contest. That is great! :cool1:

Congratulations to Jacob on the Geography Bee!

I love the drawing and the painting. I'm a big fan of Eeyore, so any time she wants to draw him and send him to me, I'll take it!

The train is great - it's classic Disney.

I'm also a fan of the little green aliens with all of their extra eyeballs. They're awfully cute just sitting high up there watching the guests go by.

We were in Disney World November 25th-30th. Were your in-laws there during any of that time? If so, check out our pictures and see if you spot them!

Great update! How cool that you got to see Bullseye...I didn't know you could meet him.

Hi Kathleen,

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I had so much catching up to do - I'm the same as you the past couple of weeks, hardly any time to post any updates!

The parade looked so good - such a pain we missed it. :headache: Hopefully one day! All your photos and videos were great. And seeing Bullseye! :cool1: I didn't know you could meet him!

Your christmas decorations looked lovely - we had a whole tree full of Disney! I was glad to see Jacob was no longer green by Christmas! :thumbsup2

I think I saw that ornament somewhere else too! :rotfl:

Thanks! Jacob was so excited!

The Disney clock is a lot of fun! The kids just love it. I think they bought it at a Sam's club. But quite a few years ago. Well, before Jacob was born.

I'm excited to have finished day one. Then I think day one was a short day due to travel. :scared1:
I also have a lot of reading to catch up on!

Congratulations to Jacob on the Geography Bee!

Thanks! I was so proud of Jacob!

Hannah has been drawing pictures of Eeyore since we brought a little Eeyore back from this trip for her! Pluto and Eeyore go on sleepovers with her too!

My in laws were at Disney Fri 11/28 to Sat 12/6. They were on thier own the first few days at one of the all stars, then the friends they were meeting arrived. There were a total of 6 couples, one of which owns DVC, so they spent the rest of the trip at Old Key West.

I will check which parks they were at Fri- Sun and keep an eye out for them in your photos. I think they might have gone to AK on Sat since they had never been there before.

Great update! How cool that you got to see Bullseye...I didn't know you could meet him.

Thanks!

I don't think I've seen pictures with him before.
Woody, Jesse, and Bullseye were alternating, usually two at a time in Frontierland. He was adorable!

Thanks!

The holidays were fun, but they certainly took up a lot of time, and left me exhausted!

Hopefully you will make it for Halloween sometime!

I did see your tree, it looked great, that was as far as I got before being interrupted.

Yeah, all the green is now gone. There's a photo of him next day where you can see some green under his chin. I don't think it helped that he got the makeup all over the wrist strap of his camera.

I'm with your son, I just LOVE Halloween. You guys have great costumes. Can't wait until you update again!
