My Son Loves Halloween...5/5 3 updates! Main Street, castle, statue photos

Hi Kathleen and Jacob,
Just popping in to say goodbye (not sure if I'll be able to do much Dissing tomorrow).
Will catch up when I get back....WDW here we come! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Great updates Kathleen and Jacob!
I knew it would be IASW!!!!!!!:lmao:
BTW Jacob, my DH thinks the same thing about the dolls coming to life! ;)
The house looked fab for Halloween and all the cakes looked really good - maybe not so much the fingers - far too realistic!
Di x

Thanks!
Funny everyone guessed that. :rotfl:

Ok the fingers freaked me out! :scared1: I love them though.

Great pictures of IASW. I agree that would be creepy riding that all alone. I keep meaning to read the book Kingdom Keepers but havent done so yet. Did you like it? They still do handstamps at DL and the kids love to see them with all of the blacklights.

Jacob loved the book. I actually read it too. The kids are always giving me their books to read. It's interesting to have a familiar setting. I could picture where they were in the park, or on a ride. He just got the second book, Disney at Dawn, and read it. I haven't finished that one yet. I think I know too much about Disney though, cuz I kept catching little things that I thought weren't explained well enough. :rolleyes1

I didn't know they still had stamps at DL. I actually hadn't thought of them in years. That was always a big deal when we could see them. Wonder if DW has them anywhere. :confused3

Great pictures of Small World! I always liked the hula girls from Hawaii the best.

I agree it would be weird to have no one else around you!

That was our first time alone on a ride!!!

haha, I knew the scariest ride was IASW! I also love those hula girls. It is really strange when you're the only ones on the ride...when we went to MNSSHP in 2006 we went on Splash Mountain during the parade and there was nobody in any other boat. The CM even told us that we could stay on if we wanted to.

It was so funny that you guessed it right away! :lmao:
We like to ride a lot of things twice in a row, but I couldn't see doing IASW twice.

I just had to show you that we were on IASW exactly 1 hour and 15 minutes after you, this was the 26th right?:

100_9832.jpg

When you were at IASW we were one of those watching the parade, we were across from the HOP. We didn't even realize there was a clock inside IASW. And I have a pic of the side of the clock also. We had a few people when we went on it after Hallowishes, but still very empty. By yourself would be strange. Actually, Splash Mountain was empty for us. I just remembered that.

The halloween decorations are cool. And I have to show those fingers to my DH. I'll have to remember that for next year. And I love Jacob's previous costume, the Pumpkin King. That was :cool1: !

Thanks!

Yes that was the 26th!
Funny you have the same photo! :lmao:
I had to check what we were doing at 10pm that night.
Checked the time stamp on my photos. We just got off BTMR, and were getting ready to ride a second time.
After that we lined up for the second parade.

Great IASW pictures! It would be really weird to be all by yourself! And kinda neat too! I didn't know the clock opened! I better pay more attention next time!

Thanks!
I was so surprised when it opened!!!
I've been on so many times I can't believe I never saw it before.
Maybe I just don't remember. :confused3

Hi Jacob and Kathleen! I just got caught up on your TR! Awesome IASW photos, and how cool are those Halloween snacks?! I especially liked the fingers! :thumbsup2

Thanks!
They were great snacks for Middle school boys!

That ride does drive me crazy, but you just have to do it! Great pics and update.

Kathleen, did you get your CD yet? I didn't read your post in time to order one. I hope you get to play it on Friday. I just love all of that music! If I don't get to post again before then, have a Happy Halloween!

Thanks!
Got it today!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Have a great trip. You're probably on the road right now!

We got double disney mail today!!! :cool1: :cool1:

cdmail.jpg

I was walking out the door to drive Hannah to an art class, and there were TWO packages with my name on them. And both were from Disney!!!

I didn't have time to open them, but as soon as I got home I ran in the house yelling to Jacob. Disney Mail!!!!

Jacob came running down the stairs singing Boo To You!!!!
We opened the package with the party CD. They really had it wrapped up. They even had it in a Disney bag. :lmao: What a cute touch.
After we got all the plastic and sticker seals off :scared:
We were able to play the CD. We loved it!!!!
It was fun to hear the music again!!!
Just in time for Halloween!!!

We also got our photopass CD. Funny we ordered that a week AFTER the other and they came the same day. I ordered it Saturday night, so that was really fast!!!

Here are the photopass photos we took outside the Haunted Mansion after are ride!

Posing in front of the hearse!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Thought I would post some Halloween photos today. :rolleyes1

How about some costumes???

Many of these are scans of old photos so the quality is not the best.

(most or all of) The clip art came from the following site:

Jacob's FIRST Halloween. :yay:

1997
He had so much fun this year, cause he actually went trick or treating!!!
Except when my neighbors scared him, they were sitting still next to their scarecrows wearing masks, scaring people. They forgot how little he was.
No adverse effect as he loves Halloween.

Jacob LOVED Mr. Potato Head. So that is what he wanted to be.
His Dad made him this costume.
I cannot sew, but Joe has a sewing machine and will sometimes make things. Usually diver gear.

Hannah's FIRST Halloween!!!!
Well since we called her Hannah Banana we thought it would be the perfect Halloween costume. :lmao:

We moved 3 days before Halloween!!!! We were still moving.
These are the only two pictures we have from this Halloween. :lmao:
I remember carving a pumpkin and running to the store for a candle, and not being able to find any matches anywhere. :rotfl2:

2001 Robot and Princess
01robotprincess.jpg

Jacob wanted to be a robot. He and Joe came up with this costume with all sorts of parts.
Things on it actually lit up and made noise. :thumbsup2
It was amazing, but a little tough to walk in.

Hannah wanted to be a princess!!!
I immediately thought of this dress my sister had worn as a flower girl.
Hannah loved it.
I should mention, my sister is 20 years younger than me.

Wow Kathleen! Great photos and fun clipart. I love all the past halloween costumes. so cute and neat to see how much they have grown over the years.

Disney mail is so much fun. I regret not buying the Halloween soundtrack and I keep debating calling and ordering it. Just not sure. It was fun music and I know the kids would love to hear it again.. I'm so glad it came in time for Halloween for you guys.

You look so cute in your costumes in front of the Haunted Mansion! I love that photopass. I still havent ordered mine. :rolleyes1 need to do mine this weekend.

It took me weeks to finish my photopass!
I used way too many borders. :rolleyes1

They kept adding new ones as I was working on it too.
They added fairies borders, and I put them on a couple of photos just to have the borders. :lmao:

It's a little scary how big the kids are getting.
Hannah is going to a party at a boy's house tonight. :rolleyes1
This will be the first year I don't take her trick or treating. :sad1:
Actually considering the temp here this morning, I think I will be happy not to go out. :cold:

Great pics Kathleen. Your family is so creative.

We goofed and didn't get a pic in front of Haunted Mansion. I told my DH we have to go back next year for that. Any excuse to get to go back, right!

Happy Halloween!!!
Melissa

I am sure looking forward to seeing all these pictures when I get home tonight. (Very few pictures show up here on the school computers.) That will be a nice Halloween treat for tonight.

I hope all of your family has a great evening! It's supposed to be in the 60's here, and it is Friday, so that's a good combination to insure that about a million costumed characters of assorted sizes will be roaming our neighborhood.

I love that picture of you two looking scared in front of HM!

Great pictures of the costumes. Hannah and Jacob are so cute!

Wow, what a great collection of pictures! And great costumes! I do love all of your borders. I did the same thing with my CD. The borders are so much fun. Glad you got the CD in time for Halloween. I will have to get it next year!

Ohhh that is so cool you got the event music CD! I really wanted to get that when we were there but didn't. I'm hoping I'll be able to find it by some miracle in December.

Great updates, Kathleen and Jacob! I finally caught up. I haven't been on DIS much lately. I actually haven't been at the computer since Thursday since I injured my coccyx in a rollerblading incident! It was a school trip for a Harvest Party. But being injured gave me time to do one thing ... finish reading The Kingdom Keepers!

One of my students used it in a book report. Since he lent me the book, I only read the first chapter! I never had time to read the rest. That student's mom actually went in the ambulance with me to the ER so she went back to school to grab my stuff and drop it off at my house ... and that included her son's book!

There was no wait, because the first parade was going on. We walked through the line and got on our boat. We were the only ones in the boat. No people were in the boats surrounding us either. We were all alone in small world, which is a little freaky. Also, I was reading a book about the magic kingdom called The Kingdom Keepers. In the book the dolls come alive and attack the main characters. I couldn't help but wonder, what would happen if they overtook the world and enslaved mankind!?!?! :worship:

I read this part of your TR about an hour after I got back into the book ... at night ... haha. That part FREAKED ME OUT! I could so imagine the entire scene in my head as they just snapped their feet off the platforms!

Small World is the ride with the most suns, :sunny: if you didn't know. Splash mountain has the most clouds.

I would love to go on with my own pair of 3-D glasses! :thumbsup2

I think my mom is going to post her small world pictures and then it's on to BUZZ LIGHTYEAR'S SPACE RANGER SPIN!!!

... but the pirates pulled them all out to shoot at Finn! Haha.

You can probably tell that I got really into the book. When I was reading the part about Maleficent outside the teepees, I pretty much jumped out of my skin because Weird decided to call at that time to see how I was doing! I read that part to him and used a creepy, raspy voice. Then I read the IASW part to him too!

I woke up early this morning in pain and finished it. It's going to be so different going to MK from now on!!!

LOVE The HM photo pass picturer. That is great!!!! I have never seen that before. Isn't it wonderful how disney is always adding something new!!!

Thanks for the tip that the medalion from POTC movie is in the gift shop. I put it on my "little details to take a picture of" list.

Looking forward to reading about the rest of your trip

Thanks!
I was so excited to take that photo!!!
I had seen the ghost on the photopass site when I ordered the CD!!!
Anything we miss though, is just more reason to go back!!!

Its fun to see the kids dressed up! We haven't gotten as many trick or treaters the last few years. :confused3

I love that picture of you two looking scared in front of HM!

Great pictures of the costumes. Hannah and Jacob are so cute!

Thanks!
We had fun with the silly poses this trip, especially Jacob.

Sounds like it is pretty popular, but maybe it will be easier to get in December. :confused3
That was my back up plan, to have my mother in law look for it in Dec. She is going the day after Thanksgiving for a week.

I really hope you are feeling better.

I read the book after our trip, but the small world scene is previewed on the back so I knew what happened in the book while we were on alone. I will be looking at some things differently next time.
I was wondering if you had read it yet, especially since they mention VMK.
I'm glad you liked it.
I thought it was a great book for Jacob's age group, and I enjoyed it too. It was fun to read a book when you know the setting. I have been on BTMRR enough times to know exactly where they were during those scenes.

Jacob read the second book last weekend, and I read it this weekend. It starts in MK, but is mostly set in AK. The ending leaves it open for another book.

Thanks for recommending the book because Jacob really loved it. You'll see just how much later on. :rolleyes1

... but the pirates pulled them all out to shoot at Finn! Haha.
That made me laugh. I had forgotten about that. :lmao:

Thank you!
And Welcome!

The photopass picture was great!
They have a lot of special things at the party.

We really wanted to find lots of little hidden things like that medallion.
We really searched for the medallion. I think I had directions in the hotel room though. :rolleyes1
Davy Jones key is there somewhere too.
I believe RachelNinja found both in her tr.
