Kim, I'm so sorry for your loss. My mom died at 60 in 1985 and it still stings. She never got to meet any of her four grandchildren which she would have been so proud of.

I lost my mom 7 years ago to Lung cancer, she was quite young too. I know that there is nothing anyone can say to make you feel better (I am crying as I type this, I do know how you feel) but time will help, and there are lots of us here who have been where you are and would love to help you through this. I truly understand how you feel, having lost my Mom to cancer in July. The pain is so deep & with Mother's Day approaching...it's just another reminder that there is a huge void in my life. I'm so deeply sorry for you & your family. I wish I had words to comfort you. There just are none. As people tell me, it's only a temporary separation.

My sympathies to you; I can imagine how you must feel.

I lost my mother to lung cancer last Sept. (11!) Cigarettes suck. She looked at *least* 20 years older than she was. It turns out she was having bouts of heart failure too, but she hid it from us all so we didn't know anything was wrong until a fall sent her to the emergency room, where they misdiagnosed her over the weekend as having pneumonia. Eventually they found a massive lung tumor and the prognosis rapidly went from months to weeks to days to live. By the time I got to the hospice she was out of it so I could not even say goodbye. I am still reeling from this. I do what I can to honor her memory, but I don't know if I can ever get "over" it, or how it is even possible to do so.

I lost both my parents and I am so very sorry about your mom. Life will never be the "same" but you will learn to cope. Hopefully, good memories of your mom will be a comfort to you during the coming days. You will be in my thoughts.
