ok, so this tie-dye thing is a little harder than I thought, but I will get it done. In the meantime, I want some kind of home made Disney shirt to wear. So I am going with the easier route of a reverse tie-dye. Something similar to the item in the link below. I am going to cut out a few different sized Mickey Heads using plastic folders. Then placing a couple on the shirt and squirting it with bleach. The Mickey heads will stay the same color, but hopefully the spray from the bleach will make them stands out well.

Caught up! I'm really digging that reverse tie-dye bleached shirt! That looks so simple, even I can do it.![]()
Thanks. This should work out well. I plan on spraying less than the individual did in that link I posted. I am hoping to just hit an area about an inch out from the pattern. I made Mickey Heads of assorted sizes out of plastic folders. Hopefully this will limit the bleach to where I want it, and not in the Mickey head. With the assorted sizes, I can put 3-4 on the front, and do a similar pattern on the back. Kinda like cascading Mickey heads. That's the plan, hope it works.Keeping my fingers crossed for a cool outcome!!
Yea, I'm 39 so I am secure enough in my manhood that I don't really car what others say. And if it is guy friends I can just tell them to... ok, family board, I can't say that here. These shirts look like so much fun. I couldn't possibly put my husband through wearing one though. We are 26 and 27 and since we returned from our last trip and he wore his Mickey Mouse sleeveless shirt infront of his friends, they haven't stopped making fun of him. His friends are a little immature (ya think?) and none of them are married or even have girlfriends, so they don't understand the idea of compromise or liking anything less "manly" than UFC... (probably the reason they are all still single)
Back to the shirts... I bet the girls are enjoying this art project. Have you tried the reverse tie dye one yet?
We should be doing them tonight. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. I need to find something to put in the shirts too so the bleach doesn't bleed through. Maybe some of those cheap plastic cutting boards.never heard of reverse tie dye- very cool. i can't wait to see how it turns out!
lol at sewer......![]()
I have some patterns for iron ons if you are interested. A great Diser sent them to me a while back. If you PM me your email, I'll send them to you too.

The shirts are in the dryer. I will take a pic of them tomorrow and post it here. I think they look pretty good. The girls shirts were a dark pink, fuscia, or some girl color. I got a red shirt for myself.
Tangent: Hope that Star Trek thingdoesn't happen to me.
Sorry for going off topic. I sprayed the shirts and let the bleach sit for a couple of minutes, so it lightened the color but didn't turn it white.

They look awesome! I love the teeny Mickey heads, very cute. I'm on vacation next week and if I can get my act together, I think I'm going to try that too....
I think they turned out great!!! Awesome job!!!![]()
