MVMCP - My Very Merry Chistmas Pre-Trip Report

So have I told you how my son bleached the cat? :lmao: When DS was about 3 or 4 he decided that the kitty had been naughty....and needed some sort of punishment, so he went in the laundry room and put the cat in the washing machine and poured bleach in. I come into the kitchen and am hit with the overwhelming smell of bleach...so I go to check....I find the washing machine (full of a load of RED clothing) open, the cat streaking across the floor and DS following and calling "bad kitty, bad kitty!" :scared1: I called the vet....gave the cat a bath, cried over my whole load of splotchy red shirts and explained to DS that bleaching the cat was not an appropriate form of punishment for kitties, no matter WHAT they might have done! :lmao: Now it's one of those "remember when" stories at our house.

It's a shame about the laundry. Not so much the cat though. You live on a Dairy Farm, you have a million other cats don't you?:lmao:
I know they do at my sisters, which is why I have a cat. My wife just had to keep the one little kitten. Of course, this kitten had fleas, some sort of illness. Later we found out she had bad teeth, so we had to pay to get a bunch of teeth pulled. Ugh, all for a cat. (no offense intended for you cat lovers, I prefer dogs myself)

I'm sensing a lack of love for kitties here.....;) Yes, we do live on a dairy farm and we do have a number of kitties (don't get me started on that--I totally got flamed one time when I posted about our cat having kittens!). Sometimes the cats in-breed too much which results in the problems you are describing with your cat. We don't have too much problem with that here....only healthy kitties. :)

:lmao::rotfl::lmao:

That's hilarious! :) I like cats, but DW is allergic.

Those shirts are great. I might have to give it a try. You did an excellent job!

I know about the cats too and the inbreeding. We do not pay any vet bills for cats,... if they make it, they do, if not, then oh well, we have 3 more litters to take there place. LOL! At one time last summer we had over 70 cats. My BIL counted 69 drinking milk out of a big bowl, and we know we have some that never come out of barns or have any human contact what so ever. I think we lost several over the winter. I counted about 40 recently. WE do have some of the sickly cats too. Ours tend to get the eye crap stuff.
Some peopel are appalled (mostly city folk :lmao:) That we don't let our cats in the house. Same with our dog (which btw is dumber than a stack of bricks). We just aren't indoor animal people. I didn't grow up that way, and neither did DH. Dogs and cats are outside animals that are supposed to guard, catch mice, etc. They have a job. Sadly, our dog didn;t read his job description memo! :rotfl2:

Sorry, I don't have a soft spot for cats.

Good news, got my new router, so I am back in business from home. Now I can catch up on everybody's PTR's.

That was sort of how I grew up (on a dairy/grain farm in IL) but we never had more than about 20ish. WOW....69! I'm going to tell DH about that! He'll be thankful we don't have so many! We do however have one dog and one cat in the house. It took about 2 years to convince DH that we needed to get this dog. And they are great. We all love them. We tell Mocha (the cat) that she's "livin' the good life" now. She just looks at me.

The only time DH has willingly spent money at the vet on a cat was when I was pregnant and in the hospital (REALLY, REALLY sick!) and one of our cats was having kittens and couldn't have them. He took her to the vet and spent $300 getting her a kitty c-section. He said he was too afraid I'd fall apart if she died while I was in the hospital. :lovestruc

What kind is your dog? "dumber than a stack of bricks" good one!

I am with the "not a fan of cats" crowd. I think it all goes back to when I was little. My grandma had the meanest cuss of a cat you ever want to meet. Every time someone would walk by the cat, it would reach out and claw you one. HARD! I guess that has always left a bad taste in my mouth. The other thing that bothers me personally is them being on the kitchen counters and table. Just has never been my thing. DH on the other hand LOVES cats...too bad he is allergic!! No cats for us!!! :rotfl:

I too am not a fan of cats. Not really sure why. I do have a scar on my thigh that I got as a freshman in high school from a cat and it is STILL there! (that was roughly 11 years ago) Maybe thats why!

Well I love cats... I better since we have 4 :scared1:

Looks like we will be there some of the same days... I had to change my trip and will be there 9th-17th now

OK, I really need to get better at updating this report. I think I have covered a lot of the planning, so here are the high level plans, you know each day, where will we be, and when will we be eating. I haven’t really gotten into the detailed daily plans yet.

OK, so December 11th we get up way before the buttcrack of dawn to drive down to the airport to get on our 6:45 am flight. We are scheduled to land in Orlando at 9:06 am. Then we hop on the ME to go to the Animal Kingdom. Quick check in even though we can’t get into our room until 4. Once that is done we head over to Hollywood Studios. Eat Dinner/Lunch, whichever menus that have at that time, at Mama Melrose. Got the Fantasmic Dinner Package. Then we go see Fantasmic at 6:30. Hoping for no rain.

:lmao:

Looks like we are a couple hours behind you guys! We fly out of Boston at 820 and land at 11ish, staying at AKL! Still trying to figure out the first day though. We def have to fit in Fantasmic!

Can I suggest getting an ADR for Mama Melrose's around 2:55ish. Be sure to get the Fantasmic Dinner Package, then we can meet up the first day there.
Oh, and don't forget to get MVMCP tickets for the 16th, because, well that's when I'm going.:lmao:

December 16th. EMH at the Magic Kingdom, we have breakfast at 8:10 at CRT. Should have a decent view of the relatively empty park while eating breakfast. Definitely interested in seeing how this is different from the Dinner we had the last time. Dinner is at 5:00 at the Liberty Tree Tavern. The park closes early, but we will be sticking around for MVMCP. :woohoo: WOOHOO Snow on Main Street :woohoo: This will probably be a late night for the kids. Depending on their energy level we may skip the first parade to go see other stuff, if they are getting tired we will see the first one. The early plan is to head back to the resort for a few hours in the afternoon. Possibly take a nap

I have an ADR at Liberty Tree at 4:10 that day and we're also sticking around for the MVMCP!!! Yay!:yay: Only thing is, I'm making this a late morning and we probably won't get to the parks until 12-ish. I want to eat beignets at POFQ and swim in the pool for a while before we go anywhere.

I will try and get that! Never done the Fantasmic Dinner Package before. We usually just wing it! Sadly we take off on the 15th at 915 pm so we are doing MVMCP on the 14th. Also trying to figure out Hoop De Doo. We upgraded our free dining to the Deluxe dining for more flexibility!

By that time we will be at the Poly so we will probably go back to the resort in the afternoon. Take a nap, or head over to GF to see the decorations. When we get to Liberty Tree, you should be able to spot us. We will look just like the family in the first post.:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

I don't know if it will be necessary at that time of the year, but I would rather be safe than sorry.

Our dog is a mut, but I think mostly black lab. It's really dumb. It just barks alot and jumps on people. so it's in a pinned in area.
