More updated Fastpass+ information

.....I always fastpass all 3 mountains in MK as well as Peter, Dumbo, Barnstormer, JC, and Buzz. And sometimes fp the mountains more than once...
Are you still able to do 8+ attractions on Fastpass daily, now with the currently enforced return time policy?

But how do you know it is so fabulous and that you love everything about it if you have yet to experience it?
~Fastpass+ sounds fabulous for me! Honestly, that's all I can say and I totally respect the fact that this system may not accommodate everyone's needs.

The whole Next-Gen system reportedly has cost Disney somewhere between $1 billion and $2 billion. They didn't spend that kind of money simply to change the FP system, they spent it because the new RFID cards/bands will allow Disney to collect much more accurate data to use for their marketing and advertising. Disney believes this new system will pay dividends above and beyond that couple-of-billions-of-dollars investment. The new FP system is just an ancillary part of the system. But since that is the part of the system that most guests will interact with, it's the part that will get the most attention from the public.

Maybe if I wrote this in bright pink, it would make everything look less doom and gloom. I'm not anti-FP+, I'm just a bit apprehensive about myriad aspects of the system. The biggest source of apprehension for me is the fact that this entire new system is predicated on a Disney Web site that hardly ever functions properly. But until we get concrete answers from Disney, I'm not willing to label the system a disaster OR the super-bestest, most fabulous Disney product of all time.

I have stayed away from all of these debates...but...

I don't think this is the end of the world. First of all, we need to remember that we ( on this board) are a small percentage of people who visit Disney World every day. I was just there last week, and I would say that more people do not use the FastPass system than those that do. They go there knowing they're going to stand in line for their rides. After all these years it still amazes me when I go to hand someone a FastPass that we're not going to use and they look at me and go "what is this." And that happened to us twice last week. This is a great benefit to me and all of you.

I guess I just want to believe that Disney has thoroughly investigated this has determined the percentage of people who will benefit from the new system is greater than those who won't. Does it mean my touring style is going to change a bit, yes of course it does. My sisters family would never get fast passes for the bigger attractions. They would use theirs for parade viewing and firework spots.

Not everyone is a good enough planner to have discovered this board and figured out all the wonderful things as they can do to get the maximum number of rides. I still say that over 70% of the people go there to wait in line. That is a benefit to me and my family. I see someone going "hey I have my FastPass plus for space Mountain at noon so we don't need to be at the parks until 11am". And I'd really like to believe that more people are going to be that way and that again benefits me and my family.

So I guess we'll just have to wait and see when they roll this out. And I know all of you on this board will figure out the ways to game the system will post it for this nice small percentage of people and we will still have a way to maximize our rides for us and our family.

Okay, I'll step off my soapbox now and the rest of you can continue your fighting.
~Awesome post! I really appreciate a well written and thoughtful response! Very well said. :goodvibes

This thread confirms one thing clearly: NOBODY gets more laughs at more terrible jokes than Robo.

It's uncanny...a lame, semi-amusing joke followed by hoards of "oh robo you SLAY me posts" and :rotfl::lmao:

(yes, I'm jealous) ;)

~Great response! I've been going to Disney for years, so there must be a certain level of trust. If I don't like something, I'm not going to complain all day on a message board, I speak with my wallet! That's why I've booked another fabulous Disney vacation!!! :goodvibes

I don't really care if Disney wants to track my every move there. If it helps them to know that I stay at OKW, love Cookes of Dublin and spend an inordinate amount of time on the Peoplemover, great! Send me a targeted email with some merchandise and a coupon. To me, that data mining is contrary to the idea of limited FP+ per day... a standby rider is a rider you don't know anything about. I don't know what the right answer is - obviously they've already made their investment and they're moving forward. But how about three FP+ in advance, more available in park? Or 6 a day?

The nonplanners will never change... but the diehard Disney folks, the people with AP's and DVC and who care enough to even debate this, they'll be impacted.

I am going to cover both sides of the aisle here.

I agree with many, it simply is too early to tell what this system is going to turn into. We won't know for sure until Disney starts making details public.

Until then, there are basically two main theories:

1) We get FP+, and only 3 FP's per day. In my book, that would be total suckage, and would lead to horrible wait times in standby lines, though those lines would likely move faster since there wouldn't be the constant flow of people entering from the FP line getting priority.

2) The new FP+ system integrates with the current system. You can choose the times of 3 attractions ahead of time, and change those times as you see fit. The remainder of your passes, you get what ever time is available, and they work like the current system, where you can draw only one at a time, and not get your next for two hours, or until the start of the return window for your current pass. This system would work fine for me, and is what I am hoping that FP+ turns into.

Only time will tell what we really get though!

As for FP+

I really don't know. I guess I say "I don't like it" because we, like all of you, have the current system down pat and never really wait on any lines.

But I suppose that - unless the overall use of FPs goes up or WDW reduces the amount of FPs - we should get to the same place right? i.e. Total FPs/total FP users should stay constant.

I don't think you'll find many people that think that Theory 2 will be around for very long, as most theorize FP is not long for this world. I hope it is, but I don't know....

Hold the boat ....

The tier system is awesomeness based?!? Yikes!

Until today, I was thinking time tiers.

I was looking forward to a new custom bracelet. Now I find out my cool new Mickey bling will only get me on one mountain a day. :-(

Seems to me also it is WDWs interest of course to have people waiting in line as little as possible.

I guess it just may be that my 10 minutes and Joe Nonplanner's 50 minutes might average to 25 for each us under a new system.

Especially because Joe Nonplanner is likely to spend more $ than I will when not in line.

I personally feel that it is important for those that feel 3 FP's per day is not enough should voice that opinion EVERYWHERE and ANYWHERE they can find an outlet to express it.

Completely agree.

Breathe!
We don't know that yet. As of now that is still very much in the realm of "Disney rumor"

Yes. :thumbsup2

But, since all tests thus far I believe included tiers that were awesomeness-based....

That's the thought that keeps giving me the most hope that this won't be the disaster that so many here are seem to think it will be - despite the lack of any confirmed details.

They gain absolutely nothing having guests standing in SB lines all day. If everyone spends tons more time in SB lines, spending per guest will be down as well as guest satisfaction. They know this. So that's why I'm reserving judgement until we know more.
