Miss & Peter's DFTW 12/9 5/20 Honeymoon Day 1/Madness

So I was so sad when I read the beginning of your entry. But then I was so happy!!!

---I am so sorry you had to go through that with Peter's grandma. :( Sometimes, I think the elderly can be a bit... slow with the whole wedding thing. Now, I love my grandma to bits, but she doesn't get weddings at all, or really the stress that comes with them. (For instance, she actually said to me: "Oh! Margie [my aunt, her daughter] brought up a good point: Why are you and Chris getting married?" SRSLY WHO SAYS THAT TO SOMEONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Sorry to make this personal LOL.
-I am just SO happy Peter stood up to his family for you. You know, there's some Bible verse--- idk what it is off the top of my head--- that is something like "men, leave your mothers and go to your wives": and that's what Peter is doing, and he realizes this. :goodvibes
-Although, seriously Melissa. PJ jeans.
-Hope the phone call with Rev Knox goes smoothly!!

I can’t believe we leave tomorrow! We are actually very calm. Today when I get out of work my grandmother and I are going for manicures and pedicures. Then I am going to wax my eyebrows and tan.

I packed yesterday. That was kind of stressful because I didn’t want to forget anything. The apartment was a MESS! We ended up with 4 bags. 2 have our clothes and necessities, 1 bag has his suit and outfits for California Grill, and 1 bag has wedding stuff. Thank god we are flying Southwest because bags are free!!! Just pray for me guys, I have a fear of flying.
I felt kind of bad yesterday because I told DF not to help. It wasn’t in a mean way, I just had this mental checklist and needed some space. While I was packing he went to pass out a letter we created so his family can view the wedding online. After I finished packing I cleaned the apartment.

My aunt just got to Disney and she said the weather is nice, hopefully it stays that way. OH!!!!!!!!! The dress Peter’s mom got is not as bad as I thought it would be. I just don’t know why she had to be so crazy with it.
I wanted to tell all of you guys’ thank you so much for all the advice and support throughout this process. Bye for now! When we come back I will start our trip report!

Congratulations on your wedding be so close! I hope you have a wonderful time. I look forward to hearing about it.

Thank you to everyone for all the kind words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Peter and I have been back for a couple of weeks and we had a blast!:)
So I am finally going to start my trip report. Ever since we got back I have been so behind with everything. I guess because of settling in and getting ready for the holidays. But now I have a week off from work so I am going to try to get everything caught up and done! First let me start off by saying that I am not a great writer. I am to the point and I misspell a lot of words so just ignore those mistakes.

I am going to start off with my Vendor Reviews.

Disney Wedding- Peter and I are beyond happy with the amazing service Disney provided for us on our wedding day, not one thing went wrong in the day. (We did have one family issue and Disney helped take care of it) Every Disney employee that we encountered made us feel so special. Everyone was so nice! All of our guests had a fabulous time. Even our anti-Disney family member came up to me after the wedding and told me how nice everything was. There was one man that helped Carol and I do not remember his name. I want to say his name was Bill, but I am not sure. I really want to mention him though. He was just so nice. He helped with my dress and with little details of the day.

Carol Mikles- She was the best wedding planner ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She was always quick to respond to e-mails and update my BEO. She is just a genuinely nice person. We only had two phone conversations and she made me feel so comfortable. On our wedding day she was the reason I felt so relaxed and calm. I had no worries. At the end of the reception I gave her a gift and thanked her because everything was perfect, I started crying, she got a little teary too. You can really tell that she cares about her brides, so if any of you have her as a planner, you are in GREAT hands.

Rev Kevin Knox- I would highly recommend him to anyone! He allowed me to customize our ceremony and gave his suggestions. We had a phone conference a week before the wedding, this cleared up any questions that I had. I was really happy with our ceremony. All of our guests commented on how beautiful it was.

Randy Chapman- He was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate taking pictures but he made me feel so comfortable. Peter and I had so much fun with him. He helped with things that are not part of his job responsibility (like fixing my make-up). I know he got great photos. We are just anxious to see them. Randy knows the ins and outs of Disney. You can tell that he knows what he is doing. He customizes affordable packages and gives AMAZING service. If anyone needs a photographer, I think Randy is one of the best!

Stan (Stvs Video) - He was also great. We had the live webcast for our guests that couldn’t make it. They could see and hear everything that was going on. On our wedding day after he introduced himself he called me over and told me that I only hired him for a certain amount of time and if I wanted I could add-on more time because then he will not be there for our first dance or for Mickey and Minnie. This was my fault. I didn’t think about timing with the videographer. I asked him how much more it would be and how payment would work. He gave me an estimate and told me I would have 30 days to take care of it. We worked it out and he stayed. It’s true what everyone says, we couldn’t even tell he was there. He blended in so well. I just really want to see the video!

Beaute Speciale- We had Jackie and I only have good things to say about her. The only make-up I wear is bare minerals. She gave me a natural look, and I loved it. She did my grandmas hair also, and this is going to sound repetitive but she also loved it. Jackie was so much fun; she had us laughing at 4 in the morning. The thing I appreciated the most was that she helped me into my dress. This is not part of her job. We would have been lost without her. She came back for the MK shoot and I was late waking up. I didn’t hear my alarm, or her knocking on the door. She called and I jumped out of bed let her in, and brushed my teeth and washed my face and she got started. I was so out of it. I don’t think I should have scheduled the MK shoot the day after the wedding. She finished my hair and make-up and got me in my dress again. We were on time!!!!

Yay Melissa!

You started your TR! Great reviews. Can't wait to read more!

Congrats on having a magical day! Best of luck to you and Peter.

Yayyyyy you started!!!!!!!! I'm so happy. :D

I'm so glad everyone was magical for you. And OMG I only wear BareMinerals too. I love their stuff SO much. I just bought a kit with 8 eyeshadows, mineral veil (both tinted and non), 3 blushes, and 3 all over face colors for $35. I just wanted to share because it made my life.

Day1 Dec. 7th - Peter and I woke up around 6:30 AM. We had packed the night before so all we had to do was load our luggage into the car. We live in a little border town and the closest airport to us is in San Antonio, TX. So we had a 2 and a half hour drive ahead of us. On the way we listened to our wedding playlist. It was actually kind of nice. We laughed and we cried. I could tell he was really excited to be going to Disney, but for some reason it just felt like any other day to me. I really didn’t feel like the trip was practically here. It still felt so far away to me.

Once we got to the airport we got on a shuttle and we meant a couple that was also on their way to Disney. They were staying at the Wilderness lodge and they gave us some Disney Christmas advice. We checked our bags in and had a couple of hours until our flight took off. We just hung out and talked about what we would do when we got there. This is when I started to get nervous. I hate flying. I tried to remain calm, but my nerves were getting the best of me. Once we bored the plane I decided I would have a drink to calm down. I got some Jack with coke. I don’t really drink, but this was necessary. It came in a mini- bottle. I told Peter that I felt like the people on Intervention with their mini-bottles.

The plane landed and we survived!!!! We got off and headed toward Disney’s Magical Express. This was the first time that we were not headed for a value resort. We had planned on arriving on Dec. 8th and we booked our trip using David’s Vacation Club Rentals. But then we realized it would be better to leave the 7th so we booked one night at the Contemporary, and then we would transfer to BLT. I only took one picture on the Magical Express. And if you’ll notice I broke out!!!!!!!!!!!!! The day before we left I got 5 pimples on the space between my mouth and nose. :sad2:

It was really cool to drive by the Wedding Pavilion; the construction is soooo ugly though. We checked into the resort. We were staying in the Garden Wing Area. The room was really nice! I don’t know why we didn’t take pictures. We looked around, called our families and got on the monorail because we had a reservation at 1900 Park Fare.

This was the first time that we had been to Disney during the holidays. It is just so beautiful. One thing that I love about Disney is the people that you meet when you are waiting for things. Everyone is just so nice and friendly. Dinner was so much fun! The characters were great. I wore some sparkly Nikes and Cinderella noticed them. She made comments that my shoes were so pretty and that they sparkled like hers! The evil stepmother was hilarious. She asked when we were getting married and we told her Friday and she started screaming across the restaurant to her daughters that we were getting married and her daughters ran over and started screaming that they wanted to come to our wedding. They described the dresses they would wear and they asked Peter if he had any brothers.

The food was good. I think it tasted better because we hadn’t eaten anything all day. I just wish they had more of a variety. I took pictures of what we ate. It’s kind of bright, this is a new camera and I was learning how to work it. Overall it was a great, fun experience and we will definitely go back!

We had originally planned to eat, and then head over to Epcot for Illuminations. But our plans changed, we ended up staying at the Grand Floridian for a couple of hours. It had such a great Christmas feel. There was a band playing Christmas music, and the smell of gingerbread lingered. This is when it hit me that we would be married. I was standing looking at the huge Christmas tree, listening to the music and taking in the smell of gingerbread and I started crying. I just couldn’t believe it was finally here. Peter is the emotional one in the relationship, I never really cry. But this was a happy cry, and it really makes him happy when I let out my emotions. He is always very comforting.

We left the Grand Floridian and went to the Magic Kingdom to exchange our vouchers for our Annual Passes. After this we walked back to the Contemporary. It was a nice walk. Once we got back to the room we passed out. We had another long day ahead of us.

-I HATE flying too. It’s awful.
-HAHA little bottles. I cracked up!
-I don’t really notice any zits! So don’t worry.
-Going to a non-value resort is such a nice feeling, isn’t it? In July 2010, we spent our first night at AKL and I felt like a rockstar.
-OMGosh! I am going to 1900 Park Fare the day before OUR wedding! I hope they do the same thing. Although, that Prince Charming is not too dreamy…
-I love your Disney Bride shirt! It’s darling.
-Is that the strawberry soup?? It looks awesome.
-I am OBSESSED with the GF Christmas decorations. I would have cried too!!!

Can't wait for more!
