Miss & Peter's DFTW 12/9 5/20 Honeymoon Day 1/Madness

Day 3- WEDDING DAY!!!! Part 1
I could not sleep at all! I was just so excited to see how everything turned out. My stomach had intense butterflies. I swear I only slept for like 3 hours. My alarm went off at 4:00AM because Jackie was coming at 4:30. So I got up took a shower and got ready. Jackie showed up.

I have already mentioned how great Jackie was, she was so nice. She asked how I wanted my hair and I showed her a pic, she nailed it. For make-up I didn’t have a vision, but I told her that the only make-up that I wear is bare minerals. She gave me a natural fun look. My grandma is not a morning person but Jackie had her cracking up. You can tell how much she loves her job. I felt so comfortable with her. After she finished my hair she started on my grandma’s.

I left the room to grab a quick bite to eat. I walked from my room to the Contempo Cafe. It was really nice to have some alone time. It was probably 5:30 and still dark outside so I stopped at the Sky Way Bridge and looked at the castle for like 10 minutes. I started crying because I was just so happy. I thought about how happy I was become Peter’s wife, about our families and how much fun everyone was having, and about all the fun we would have later. I got a bagel and a Sprite and headed back to the room. Jackie had just finished my grandma’s hair. I ate, then brushed my teeth and she started my make-up. She probably finished everything at 7:30 AM and my pick-up time was 8:30AM.

At 7:45 my flowers came!!!! I was so nervous for this, because my flowers were lavender and I have seen pics of brides that get pink flowers when they were supposed to be lavender. But when I opened the box I screamed with excitement because they were PERFECT!!!! I almost cried but I kept it in. Jackie told me that on this day if I want to cry I shouldn’t hold back, to let out all of my emotions and to just enjoy everything.

Jackie helped me into my dress. Thank god she was there! She even explained the process to my grandma because she would be back later to help me in for the dessert party. I gave Jackie her thank you card and she was off around 8:15. We left the room 10 minutes later. It was an indescribable feeling walking out in my wedding dress. I saw people in the hallway and they congratulated me and told me how beautiful I was. When I got in the elevator a woman was in there and she started crying. Disney brides always mention on the boards how nice the guests are that they run into on their wedding day and it’s so true. Little girls get so excited when they see a bride. I really felt like a princess.

Even our limo driver was nice! He drove us over to the GF and shared some Disney facts with us. When we pulled up to the GF I was bursting with excitement!!!!! I met Carol for the first time. Carol walked me into the GF and went over a few things. When I walked in all of the Cast Members congratulated me. I had that moment that most Disney brides have. A little girl started running to me and pointing that I was a princess.

Then I met Randy and Stan. Again, they were both fantastic! Randy started taking pictures. I was on the staircase and as he was taking the pictures my uncle, aunt and grandpa walked in.When I saw my grandpa I lost it. I started crying like crazy. I just couldn’t control it. My grandparents have done so much for me. They are my parents and they have given me such a wonderful life. I calmed down and continued with the pictures. Randy fixed my make-up. This was really nice of him because for a moment I was lost! I took pictures on the staircase, in front of the big, beautiful Christmas tree, the gingerbread house and along the beach of the GF.

Once we were done with photos we got into the limo and headed to the Wedding Pavilion. When I got out of the limo I got a little emotional. I was just so happy, and the Wedding Pavilion is just so pretty, even with the ugly construction.

As we walked in I saw Peter’s mom, and my aunt Debbie. (Something that I should mention is that my aunts and uncle are like my brother and sisters. I have grown up with them and they are a big part if my life). They came with us into the Bride's Vestibule. Rev Knox came in and went over some final details. Debbie gave me a gift from Peter, in it was in a box that I have always wanted!!!!!! Girls you know what I am talking about that little blue box! He gave me a necklace from Tiffany’s. It was a silver necklace with a small pendent that says I love you.

Then Stan came in and asked me to say a few words to Peter. I can’t wait to see this. I got emotional but I spoke from my heart. When he left I had a few moments alone with my grandpa. Again, I got emotional. I just told him how thankful I was to him and my grandma. I also told him how happy I was that my grandma was there for my special day. Back-story: She had a heart attack about 5 years ago and only 23% of her heart works, so we are very lucky to have her here with us.

Before I knew it I could hear When You Wish Upon a Star. This was the music my grandma and his parents were walking out to. Then I heard Peter’s song and I knew we would be starting. Carol came in and got us. It’s so suspenseful standing behind those doors. Before I came out the bells chimed the hour I was getting married.

I am happy with them. I just wish I didn't close my eyes so much. If any of you are planning on doing this the day after your wedding I don't recommend it, I was sleepy during our shoot.

My favorite ones are the ones on the teacups! I really don't like the "serious" ones, I felt kinda dumb taking them.

Wedding Day Pt.2

Once the door opened I got this really warm feeling inside. I was just so happy to see Peter standing there. I am surprised that I did not cry, all did was smile! It was such a great feeling walking into a room filled with people that we care about. I did not even hear the song. When I got to the end of the aisle Peter told me that my dress was beautiful, but not as beautiful as me! I swear this man just melts my heart!

The ceremony started. Our families really liked Rev Knox. He made our ceremony feel special, even though he performs so many.

Address to the Parents- I really like that when he did this he acknowledged that my grandparents have been married for 31 years and that Peters parents have been married for 25.
Memorial Acknowledgment- Peter’s family was really surprised by this. We honored his grandfather. Peter’s grandma got emotional during this part.

Reading: The Art of Marriage- My BFF did the reading and she did a fabulous job! She has one of those great public speaking voices.

The ceremony went by so fast, but it was perfect!!!!!!! Everyone congratulated us then we started taking pictures. This is where the drama began. When I saw Peter’s aunt I asked where her husband was and she said in a casual voice, “He decided not to come.” I was confused and pissed off at the same time. It would have been nice if she would have told me he wasn’t coming so I wouldn’t have spent the money on him. I called Carol over and told her and she got on her little walkie talkie and his place setting was removed.

When we started taking pictures Randy said we had a lot of time. Peter’s family has a tendency to make things difficult though. We started with his family and his mom wanted a million different pictures, some of which we did not have time for. We were going to just go basic shoots. Us with is mom & dad, with his brothers and sisters, etc. But she wanted pics of Peter with each individual member, and there was not enough time for that. Randy had a look like we needed to speed things up. I got mad too because his aunt has 2 daughters and they were the worst behaved out of everyone there (they were the oldest) , they were running around the Wedding Pavilion and were nowhere to be found during picture time. Stan could see I was getting frustrated and told them to come inside and shut the door behind them. I was thankful for this, but angry that their mother did nothing about it.

My family started taking pictures next, and we were able to get them done in a fraction of the time. After this the family was cleared for our staged exit. Randy took some cool pictures of us throwing the rose petals up in the air.
The staged exit was a lot of fun!!!! We got in the limo and drove around the parking lot. The limo was supposed to take everyone over to the GF, but they all decided to walk. This is when I was happy I did not get the carriage. It would have been lovely, but to me it was not worth it with the construction. Had the construction not been taking place we definitely would have kept it.

Randy got some shots of us on the beach and around the Pavilion. I hate taking pictures and he made me feel so relaxed. After we were done with photos we got in the limo and headed for the GF. Before we left to the GF they asked us what we wanted to drink, and when we pulled up our drinks were ready for us. I didn’t realize how thirsty I was. Carol walked us into the reception area. When I walked in I cried. It was just perfect. Everything was so pretty, and it nice to see all the planning come together. While we were looking our families were outside for the pre-reception.

We met the Caricaturist artist and he started on our picture. He did a great job!
After the picture Peter’s aunt comes in and asks if it’s ok if she leaves. I had a confused face when she asked this. Then she was like it’s over right? I told her no, that they were at the pre-reception, we still had the reception. I thought this was really rude, and then I asked her if she read the invitation and newsletter because I wrote the timeline there. She told me no, that don’t I know that no one reads those things. I blew her off because I was in too good of a mood to let anyone ruin my day!

After this everyone went into the reception area and we went outside to be announced. I will continue tomorrow!

What is up with Peter's family? The uncle doesn't show and mom takes over the photos and the aunt wants to leave early (what did she possibly have to do or think was going on?) You handled it well though, I have to say. I am not sure I would have been as nice.

I am not sure if I mentioned this, and I apologize if I did, but we used the exact same 2 readings at our original wedding. I love both of them. Excellent choices!

The petals pic is gorgeous. I hope you savored every second.

There were like 2000 and I am picking out the best ones to print. Oh and yesterday, I started the name change process. As soon as I get my ss card I will head over to finish the process!

Wedding Day Part 3!

My uncle was in charge of the music. We picked him because he is good at following instructions. We never planned on being announced at our wedding, we were going to just walk in with everyone. But Carol suggested that my uncle announce us and he agreed. I was really surprised he agreed to do this because he is so shy. He did a great job.

Once we came in we had our first dance. Our song is, You’ll Be in My Heart from Tarzan. We never dance so this was a nice moment for us.
Then I danced with my grandfather. We danced You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban. I got emotional here. This song describes our relationship perfectly.

Part 4
After we danced it was time to EAT!!!!!!!!! I thought it was really nice that one of the servers walked the buffet with me and served me. Everyone loved the food. We made a really good choice by serving breakfast and we saved a lot of $$. Everyone had seconds. But not me! I was surprised that I ate. I hear so many stories about brides that don’t eat. I had 2 Mickey waffles, some eggs, and bacon.

At this time some of our guests started getting caricatures. He did a wonderful job. All of our guests got a caricature. He really made them personal. I am not sure if I mentioned this in the review but I love that the artist spoke Spanish. Peter has some family that doesn’t speak English and he made them feel so comfortable. In the end we had to extend the time of the artist because 5 of our guests still wanted pictures.

This is also when more drama started with some of Peter’s family. His aunt has 2 daughters one was dressed as Cinderella and one was Snow White. They are older than all of the other kids at the wedding, yet they were the worst behaved. They were running in and out of the Whitehall room. I found this out after the wedding but Disney Staff was asking who their parents were because they were out of control. When I walked out of the room I saw them running down the hall towards other rooms in the convention center. So I walked back in and asked his aunt where her daughters were and she shrugged her shoulders and said,” I don’t know, somewhere.” I just about had it with this woman and I told her, “You mean you don’t know where your children are, they are running around all over the place.” When I told her this she gave me the really ugly look. Peter’s mom went on to tell her kids couldn’t be running all over the place and she started yelling at her.

When we were done eating I gave Peter a book that I made for him. I bought it off of Etsy. We love Up. It’s the Adventure Book. I filled with photos of things we have done, our favorites, and things we want to do. He loved it! (Before Randy left the reception later, he brought me the paper from the sign that said Peter and Melissa Wedding Reception with the date. He told me I might like to have it because he noticed that I scrapbook. I thought this was sooo nice and thoughtful of him.)

During the reception everyone got along and everyone was in a really good mood. It was so strange to me. I guess I have seen too many episodes of Bridezillas because I expected the worst. Peter and I were standing in the hall with Carol, Stan, Randy, and the person in charge of M&M. They told me it was time for them to come out. My aunt was standing next to us and saw that we looked suspicious, so she thought something was wrong. I told her nothing was wrong, for her just to go in the room. They shut the doors and we waited a few minutes and met M&M. We were like little kids Peter and I were so excited. We banged on the Whitehall doors to get everyone’s attention and walked in with them. Everyone was sooooooooooooo excited. I mean to see the looks on their faces; this was so worth the money.

Then it was time to cut the cake!!!!! It was delicious!

After this we had a quick dance with Mickey and Minnie. If you notice in the pics I get mad at Peter because he not only kissed Minnie but he twirled her! He didn’t twirl me! Lol I kissed Mickey but he didn’t seem to notice. After this we went outside for pictures. I swear I was so over pictures. We took pics with M&M by ourselves, with guests, and our guests took pics. I am not going to post all of these pics. There are tons of them.
