Minivan?

We will be 4 adults and 2 kids in carseats for our next trip. We are staying 10 days and want to have a car for all 10. We figure the only vehicle we can fit in is a minivan. As you can imagine, it's over $1000 for a van for that many days on most sites i am checking. Finding codes aside, which rental company would you suggest to start off with the best price? Or is that irrelevant depending on the codes that pop up? I am a complete car rental novice so any help would be so great, thank you! Should I just wait and watch for the Nov. codes thread?

If you want to get a good base price, it will take a bit of visiting the major carrier's websites. However to keep costs down, I have a suggestion. I just ran a scenario on National's website. With pickup/delivery being Dec29th/Jan4th, the cost to rent a minivan from the Orlando airport was $829. However, renting from the Car care center at WDW and drop off at MCO was $559. A difference of $270 without a coupon.

As such if your party is staying on property, you could take Magical Express to the hotel. Afterwards, you could make your way to a rental facility on property (National/Alamo is at the Car Care Center and Swan, while the other major companies have offices at the DTD hotel row), pickup the rental car for your stay, and drop it at the airport upon leaving.

Check out the Alamo site. I used code 7015309 alon with coupon code ad8221sdf and found a mini van for 151.00 total for a week. We are picking up at the Disney Car Care Center and dropping in Ft. Lauderdale.

You have TONS of time for rates to go down. I watched carrentalsavers.com for weeks and finally booked at small car for our 6 day trip for a total of $62. I can't use the kiosk but I don't think it will be a big deal

The rate should go down when you are closer to your dates......unless you are traveling during a peak holiday time. Keep watching,I'm sure you will get a better rate. We went to florida during spring break. Our minivan rentals never got any cheaper, but they weren't crazy expensive when I made the original ressies at nearly a year in advance.

I just got a minivan with Alamo using the AA code, $35 off the week and m 10% off for insider. 8 days with all fees and taxes was $195. I didn't see this until just a few days ago on this very board and that is when I got the great price.
