Considering taking our kids to this event on Halloween. We also have the option of taking them on 10/28, 10/30, or 11/2. Wondering how it is set up -- is a portion of the park closed for the event? Overall, is it worth the price of admission?

it is pricey but we had a absolute ball there. my sister and I took our 86 year old Mother and she also had a blast and at the time we did not know would be her last trip to WDW so glad we took her to this. and yes they close the whole MK and you get a wrist band and the rest of park is cleared that do not have one. you can dress up if you want to as many many do. some have elaborate costumes. they have a lot of the rides open but we had fun just running around with less crowds and trick or treating and the parades were so neat and different than the day or regular evening parades. try it once sometime that you decide but it is fun... we have also been to the Xmas party but was not as excited about that one for the money

The event officially starts at 7pm, but entrance is usually granted at 4pm with a MNSSHP ticket (or it has been in the past). You are given a special arm band for the party, which allows cm's to weed out any "party crashers" (and yes, people do crash those parties) everyone who is not attending the party must leave. Most rides remain open until midnight, when the party ends, and there are great festivities such as trick or treating, Hallowishes fireworks, The Boo to You parade..a lot of fun. You can expect much shorter wait time's in line's for rides because of it being a special ticket event.

And as the pp mentioned, the costumes are a lot of fun, especially since you can join in on the action. We are going to the 9/11 party and I can't wait. It does get pricey, but to me, its worth it because my dd is crazy about Halloween. I agree with the pp, try it once and see if its for you or not .If you leave unimpressed or dissapointed, then at least you know. I am a big believer in trying things out for yourself before making a decision based on someone else's opinion. For instance, a friend of mine will only stay in the deluxe resorts and my family is fine in value. I have nothing against the deluxe or moderate resorts by any means, I just choose to spend less money on accomodations because of being in the parks so much...but that is my opinion and that is what I feel is right for me and my family. Hope this helps.

WE loved the party. It is pricey but for us the shorter wait times, awesome parade & fireworks were totally worth it.

we went with then 3 and 4 year old boys. My parents were with us and dressed up along with the rest of us. The boys had a blast! They came home with gobs of candy and great memories. You can have a few special photos too if you use photopass. I say go for it! We plan on doing it again when we are there this year. I think it is worth the price for the great memories!

We're trying the MNSSHP this year for the first time. We did the christmas party last vacation and LOVED it!! The spirit of the party was fantastic, people were extra happy and the wait times were very short.

Looking forward to another party. :thumbsup2

This will be our second year going! It is worth the ticket. I also wont be gong to any other park that day so it's an even break to me. Nothing in the park was closed when we went last year but I think with Fantasyland expansion going on that may be different this year.

The Boo To You Parade is awesome. the dances parties are great and the Character interaction is AWESOME! I think though my favorite part were the sister ghost outside of Haunted Mansion that interacted with park guest. They were great! GO! It's worth it.

It is soooo much fun! I agree with PP it is definitely worth trying at least once! If we could swing it for our upcoming trip I would love to go again..it gets me in a total fall mood and the fact that we could get on rides with little to no wait at all and even get off a ride and right back on..well that is so beyond worth the ticket price!

We have done MNSSH twice now because it is our favorite season of the year and our favorite holiday. The first year only our kids dressed up. The second year, the whole family dressed up in an Alice theme. We had a blast and got so many compliments. Half of the fun is seeing all the people in their creative costumes!

It is a little pricey, but it's cheaper the days before halloween. The parade is outstanding, and there are virtually no wait times on the rides. I would definitely recommend it!

The parade is incredible, totally worth the price and I am not a huge parade fan in general. As another poster said, you can get in as early at 4pm, which we should have done. We didn't go until 7pm and we found it very crowded and very hard to do many things. We also went very close to Halloween, it was the Thursday before. I heard as is gets closer to Halloween, many locals attend and the crowds are greater, but don't know if that is true. I can't say we did much beside see the parade, because candy lines were so long and then kids got super tired by fireworks time. The dressing up and the atmosphere was amazing, totally something to experience!
