Mice Chat Reporting Disneyland Hard Ticket Christmas Parties

Up to $250.00 for 4 hours. Wow.

I used to go to the 'Telephone Pioneers' private party every year in the late 60s-early70s. It was 5 hours and in 1971 cost (IIRC, don't know where I put that old ticket stub!) $12.50, rides included, which works out to about $84.00 today. Quite a price difference!

Rumor floating around on Twitter that Disney is doing rehearsals for the Christmas Fantasy parade and the Main Street Electrical parade.

Ok fine, Disney! I may be willing to cough up the bucks for a ticketed party IF my beloved MSEP is part of it.

My youngest son and I took a trip in 2017 when the MSEP was 'revived' so I could see it again. One of his 'most often trotted out' memories of that trip is standing next to me and seeing tears of joy running down my face.

Baroque Hoedown is my ring tone.

I just spent 30mins explaining why the CEO sucks and now I’m contemplating $$$ so clearly I’m having issues here, hah.

When MSEP was revived (2017), that started our year yielding the highest # of visits to DL (we’re up near SF). It was the perfect age for my daughter (3 at the time) to see it for the first time and imprint Disney in the deepest parts of her memory. We did it again in 2019 when it was revived briefly.

To this day, she hears Baroque Hoedown and her face lights up like a Christmas tree. She’ll hear it in the esplanade and when she asks if the parade is back, it pains me to tell her no.

So…did someone say $250/ticket? Because I’m paying that if MSEP is on the docket. I will probably pay it multiple times.

DID YOU JUST SAY MSEP BECAUSE THAT’S a jump out of bed/call in sick/spend all the money situation.
There are a lot of social media breadcrumbs about the rehearsals, and it’s a fast parade to rehearse. I don’t think it’s probably associated with any ticketed offering. I think it’s just coming back.

ETA: I mean WHO KNOWS anything at this point, blah blah pandemic blah blah staffing blah blah nothing is predictable… but that’s my guess.

I just turn into an irrational creature at the first mention of MSEP or the first few bars of Baroque Hoedown. Been this way since 1996, lol.

ETA: literally if you show up to my house in a windowless white van and wrote “come in for Main Stret Electricity Parade Thing” on it, you’ll at least get me to come out of the house :yay:

Waves from Placer County. Definitely worth that 7 hour drive!

My prediction is that if the parades do run concurrently that the Christmas one will be for the ticketed event and the electrical parade will be to placate people who would otherwise be bummed to lose what was once a non paywall parade.

I choose the electrical parade over all night time shows. The nostalgia just runs too deep.

I agree. I’d be ok with that though.

Am I the only one who is just anxious for Paint the Night to comeback sometime? The fates (and money, babies, blah blah) conspired against me, and I still have yet to see it "in real life!" And what happened to Magic Happens? That was actually a really fun parade during its very short run!

Those are our two favorite parades.

1. Paint the Night is REALLY expensive to run. Like… way, way more than any other parade. So that’s the issue there.

2. Magic Happens is definitely coming back! I’d guess early 2022. But that one has a much bigger cast and lots of choreo that takes longer to train. So if they’re throwing something together… MSEP will win over MH.

Did I see MSEP rumors in the thread? Really? I hope that's true. I pick MSEP over everything else in the history of Disney parades and nighttime entertainment. It's all about nostalgia for me. When it came back a few years ago before the lights went out "for good" for the third time or whatever, I dragged my kids. They loved it, too, and even said it was better than PTN.

I have a hard time thinking there will be WDW type Christmas parties. I mean this is the same source that said they were taking out Toon Town for SW:GE. But if there are parties, trying to figure out my schedule for Dec!

I would bet that if someone could get the inside scoop, it would be you. It is one of your super powers.
