Did I read somewhere that curling irons/flat irons are not allowed on the ship?

2 weeks from right now, I'm going to be thinking about getting ready for dinner on the Magic! :cool1: First dinner with Jeff (and FAMILY) and the single girls! ;) The DIS will dominate dinner!

I just noticed on the 4-24 navigator that Disney Dreams will be on the last sea day. Don't they usually have Remember the Magic on the last night of the cruise? We have Palo dinner at 7 that night and would either have to rush through dinner or get bad seats for the 8:30 show. I have seen Disney Dreams three times and still love it!

I'm not sure either we or the 5/5 cruise will have the same theme/show schedule as the 4/24 cruise because their itinerary is different. If they follow the same pattern for 5/5 then I'll believe it.

I hope we get Heath Hyche as the comedian (like the 24 Apr lot have) - we saw him last yr and he was v funny.

Perhaps he's gotten better because when we saw him in 2008 on the Mex. Riviera cruise he was awful. I mean there were long periods of time during his shows where there were no laughs at all...not even a chuckle. :confused3

Hello,
We wonder if there are other available shore tours/excursions for this Magic Med cruise that some of the more experienced members can kindly suggested. Thanks.

Welcome to the thread L & K! :welcome: If you go to the website linked in my signature and go to private excursions you'll see openings for people that have booked private tours. If you click on the "Private Tours" link you'll see links for private tour operators that have good reputations on places like Cruise Critic and/or Trip Advisor. Hope this helps.

This may seem like a silly question but when someone calls the ship from US,who pays for the call?

I saw on the Navigator that you can call home for $6.95 per minute.:scared1::scared1:

Don't think I'll be calling anyone in the states.

Curling irons/flat irons are allowed. You just can't bring clothes irons. (There are irons in the laundry rooms.)

I can't wait to leave!!!!! I'm so ready to be pampered.

I posted this back on page 199. :confused3 :)
Whoops. I missed it somehow... Sorry! :rotfl:

Oh, cool! Then there's hope for my hair, even if the blow dryer is not the best! :goodvibes

I so wish we were there right now! Soon! Soon!

The party calling the ship pays for the call. As I understand it from reading through posts on the main board, to complete the call, DCL requires the caller to give them a valid credit card number. The cost is ~ $8/minute.

I'm bringing my blowdryer for sure. :) You can borrow if you need to. I hate the one in the cabin. Beware...you will have to plug in your flat iron by the desk and not in the bathroom. There is no real plug (except the shaver plug) in the bathroom. Don't worry..there is a mirror above the desk.

So are the blowdryers really that bad? I thought maybe folks were exaggerating. If they really do suck, maybe I'll bring one, also.

The hair dryers are not good.

I booked a Segway tour of Barcelona today the afternoon of our return on 5/26. We loved doing the Segway tour in Epcot a few years ago so this should be a lot of fun.

Has anyone picked out any restaurants in Barcelona for before or after the cruise?

I haven't picked anythig out yet. Figured I would fin something good on Las Ramblas. I really want to try a tapas bar.

guess I'll be bring my blow dryer. I don't normally do much with my hair, but occasionally I like to look nice.:rotfl2:

And know that I don't have to worry about the luggage I'll be able to bring it.:lmao:

Looks like I'll be in the laundry room ironing some clothes.:laundy:

See you guys in 14 days.

Yes, the hair dryer is bad. I forgot about that in November and suffered a whole week. I don't really style my hair either but just drying my hair & DD's take a LONG time and the hose sometimes gets so hot I couldn't hold onto it.

We ate at Les Quinze Nits and Amaya. The former is just off Las Ramblas and the latter is right on it. Both were good.

I'm thinking about trying Cerveceria Catalana, which is one of the top restaurants in Barcelona per Trip Advisor and it's not too far from the Novotel Barcelona City. Another is Ciutat Comtal.

Are you using the same company as us? We are doing our tour on Thursday afternoon, May 13th.....we also had the best time on the Epcot Segway Tour in January. I was afraid that I would make a fool of myself on one but it was much easier than I thought. :upsidedow Frank was really good at it and having so much fun on it that the WDW guide told him he should come work there.
Oops, I realized that I didn't mention the tour company in my previous post about the segway. We booked with Barcelona Segway Glides;rated #1 by Trip Adisor of things to do in Barcelona.:yay:

Has anyone booked a reservation at the Adventure Park in Corsica? Tuesday I sent an email on their website requesting a reservation for 8 and so far nothing :confused3 Not sure if we can just show up and hope for the best or try to confirm the reservation. Thoughts?

We ate at Cerveceria Catalana a couple days ago based on the tripadvisor reviews. It was very good (4 out of 5 for me), and had a number of exotic tapas, but doesn't beat my favorite places in Sevilla. It was jam packed though - even for eating on a weekday and kinda early, we had to wait 45 minutes for a table.

We also tried Abissinia, the only ethopian restaurant in town. Also good, the lentils and Segawot especially so.

If you like buffets, and you like sushi or asian food, I would recommend Mitsui. It's the second sushi buffet we tried here, and had an amazing array of foods - besides about 6 kinds of nigiri sushi and several assorted rolls and sashimi, there were racks upon racks of steamed goodies (like you'd get at dim sum), a make-your-own (mostly seafood) creation that they would stir fry, a nice salad bar, many hot and cold dishes including exotics like oysters and razor clams, plus two booths of desserts, one fruit (lychee, pineapple, kiwi, papaya, etc) and nuts (standards, plus good ones too like candied almonds and whole macadamia nuts), and one cakes and tarts. Plus a freezer filled with about 20 different types of ice cream (including a really good pistachio and green tea). I think it was 16 euro per person for dinner, but the wine is really overpriced to try and make up for it.

I'll let y'all know if we come across anything really amazing.

Hey y'all, if you booked your airfare a while back and haven't checked your seat assignments in a while, I recommend you do so. I just happened to pull up our reservation to show a friend what type of plane we are on, and noticed that our seat assignment on one of the flights had changed, despite choosing and confirming them at booking. My husband was moved across the plane and several rows away from me. Luckily I was able to change it back, but what a surprise that would have been when we checked in! Thanks to my OCD, I'll be checking everyday now.

Yeah, just checked mine and I'm stuck in the middle seat of the middle row of 3 seats! ARGH!!!! Looks like the flight is full so I'm stuck until I get to the airport. Maybe I can beg and get a better seat.
