BWV Boardwalk View Sold Out December 14th?

Does anyone know why the Boardwalk View villas at BWV are "sold-out" for December 14, 2026? Shouldn't that not occur until tomorrow? Is there something special happening next December on that day? Does DVC have the right to block rooms that are otherwise available?

Because everyone who has the 13th booked has also booked the 14th. You can book 11 months out but can reserve a week following that first night. So if I had booked a BW View studio this morning for Dec 13th, I could book additional nights out until the 26th.

As @Willow Ufgood was stating you can book for 7 days at 11 months so someone may already have your days booked.

If someone was booking a 14 night stay they could then add 1 night at a time for the rest of the trip before your date even shows.

If I was checking in on 12/7/26 and checking out on 12/21/26 I would follow the booking pattern below and have my room secured for the length of stay on 1/14/2026.

1/7/2026 Book the first 7 nights (12/7 - 12/14)
1/8/2026 Add a night (12/7 - 12/15)
1/9/2026 Add a night (12/7 - 12/16)
1/10/2026 Add a night (12/7 - 12/17)
1/11/2026 Add a night (12/7 - 12/18)
1/12/2026 Add a night (12/7 - 12/19)
1/13/2026 Add a night (12/7 - 12/20)
1/14/2026 Add a night (12/7 - 12/21)

December is a very high demand time for rooms, particularly for BWV resort or boardwalk view studios (and 2BRs which can disappear with studio reservations). That members can make multiple-day reservations extending beyond the 11-month-out date is one factor that can lead to fills of a date before 11-months out. But there is a likely second reason for why Dec 14 is already gone: no one is checking out on that date. If any members are checking out on that date, the rooms they are in would be shown today as open for Dec 14.

I should have mentioned that I already have the 13th booked. I had the 12th and 13th booked, and wanted to change today to the 13th through the 16th, but the 14th is blocked, even though I have the room for the 13th. Something is going on. Are they taking a room out of service on a random Monday? Is it the day they shoot the Christmas special and the need rooms? There aren't any reserved weeks, and that wouldn't affect a Monday if you already have the Sunday.

OP wasnt clear but I understand what he's asking. Currently there is availabilty for the 13th, but not the 14th.

Availabilty:
[11mo + 0 days] Available
[11mo + 1 day] Unavailable
[11mo + 2 thru 6 days] Available

I called Member Services and they gave me the "inventory can change from day-to-day" spiel. They were not able to tell me why my reservation on the 13th could not extend over the 14th. The cited maintenance, which is impossible at 11 months notice, renovations (these rooms were refurbed two years ago), and "special situations," which probably means something nefarious.

BWV doesn't have fixed weeks. Not many resorts do. I think VGF, PIT, and RIV are the only ones. So that would eliminate that possibility regardless.

The Christmas parade is typically filmed in November.

DVC is not supposed to be under the same rules for booking as members, so theoretically, that room should have been available for you to walk forward a day.

Did you have the nights of the 12th and 13th with checkout on the 14th? If so then you should have been able to add the 14th and beyond. Although, I'm curious as to why didn't you book 12/12-12/15 originally, since you had enough points for 12/13-12/16? That would have secured the 14th for you earlier. Having just 2 nights reserved requires daily walking whereas having 3 nights allows you breathing room in case you forget or the website goes down. I know. I know. Hindsight is 20/20. Who knew that a hole would be created right in the middle of the nights you wanted?

If I were in the hunt for 12/14, I would put in a wait list request for just that night and I would stalk the website as well. As the Christmas walkers move forward, that night will open up. You might just get lucky and be able to grab it.

Here's a resolution of sorts for you all.

This morning December 14th was still unavailable, but the 15th showed available. Later on today, the 15th was also taken out of service, which means a certain number of rooms are being removed from the inventory for some reason. Perhaps its tenant improvement work below, or something, but 11 months is an extremely long time frame for that.

Anyway, two days of resort view were available, so I took them and waitlisted resort view for Sunday if that came up, intending to replace the Boardwalk view with the resort view. Later in the day, I did some checking and found that Sunday the 13th did indeed come up as someone walked on by, and I quickly canceled the Boardwalk view reservation and modified my resort view reservation, and with the points saved extended the reservation to the 17th. So I'm not getting my Boardwalk view (I'm 0-2 on that, due to renovations both times!) but I'm getting an extra night at the resort. I'll just have to keep the drapes closed so I don't see the dumpster outside my window!
