May discounts

I'm planning my first trip to Disney for next May and was wondering if historically, has there ever been any great discounts offered for this month? There's 5 of us so I know my choices as far as resorts go are limited so I was looking at Port Riverside or Caribbean beach.

Anyone know if I'd be able to get a room at either resort for LESS than renting points at Boardwalk villas? My trip would last 5 days in the beginning of May.
