I know other parks have some rights, but are they locked up long term?

Would love to see Disney be able to use Marvel in the parks, so much potential.

Hey, does anyone know if Wonder Twins are Marvel? I love me some Wonder Twins.

Wonder Twins ACTIVATE! Good stuff!

I don't know exact details, but Universal Orlando has the rights to the characters they use in the park for a very long time. Meaning, Disney can use OTHER Marvel characters (BH6, GoG, to name a few) but they can't use what already appears in Universal. (With the exception of Disneyland, they can (and do) have Marvel characters in the park [Thor & Captain America I believe]). Unfortunately, that means no Avengers or X-Men or Spidey in WDW for the forseeable future

Wonder Twins are DC...they were in the Justice League Cartoon...if it is on a station in your area, you should look for the Teen Titans Go! cartoon, as there is one episode where the Wonder Twins make a guest appearance and it is very funny.

Universal has the theme park rights to any Marvel character that is currently represented at Islands of Adventure (even if they only display a picture of them) anywhere east of the Mississippi apparently, which is why Disneyland can have Thor and Captain America in their parks but WDW can't. And Universal has representations of many of the major Marvel characters. (I don't know how true the story was that back when there was a WDW monorail with an Avengers overlay they had to take it off the Epcot line because on that line the monorail had to actually enter a theme park and Disney was not allowed to have any representation of those characters anywhere inside a park).

No idea if that is in perpetuity, or as long as the characters are represented at Universal. I suppose Disney could buy them out. Disney doesn't seem to find that necessary. I understand Universal pays Disney for the use of the characters. Disney could also make use of any Marvel characters that are not represented at Universal.

Wonder Twins apparently part of the DC Comics Universe.
