You get 1 set of safety pins per registration.Probably a silly question but when you pick up your bib, does RunDisney provide the safety pins as well or do I need to pack my own? Thanks!

Taper. Ugh. I'm definitely starting to feel sick (I always crash after running around like crazy before Christmas)![]()
I am thinking of registering to run the full marathon in 2018. It would be my first marathon after 5 halfs. But I am wondering how I could do it so soon after Christmas. I always crash after Christmas too. I guess I need to plan better/do less next year for Christmas.
Any tips on getting through Christmas with enough energy to run a marathon?
That is the reason I asked. In triathlon I am also used to wear a numberbelt, but at the Disneyland Paris Half, the numberbelt felt somehow "wrong", ... Maybe I try to get these magnets at the expo.

Yay thank you! I'm doing the 5K only. This was very helpful. I had nightmares of taking safety pins on my flightYou get 1 set of safety pins per registration. So Goofy and Dopey runners get two bibs but one set of safety pins. But if you did, say, the 5K and half you'd get 2 sets of safety pins.
I would guess yes but there's no way to know for sure. Check Fit2Run's booth or any other running store that has a booth.Does anyone know if the RaceDots will be available at the expo?
Thanks, I love the idea of scheduling holiday prep stuff on my calendar. I tend to fill in any available slots on my calendar with work, then try to squeeze the Christmas stuff in.I really enjoyed this season, and felt like I was on track/ahead of schedule with shopping, cookies, wrapping, etc. so it was actually less crazy than usual! I was really careful to actually schedule Christmas prep stuff on my calendar and protect that time. Work was manageable and I delegated what I could. I stuck to my training plan, and didn't skip runs and didn't go over/above the plan. I was relatively cautious at holiday parties when offered more wine.I didn't stay up too late (well, except for once - see holiday parties.) Unfortunately, I'm still sick! But the good news is that it's relatively mild and probably resolved with moderate rest. So it's ideal to have a few days after Christmas and before departure to rest and regroup. We're leaving early Saturday and I'm optimistic that I'll be 100% by then!
Hope the timing doesn't deter you!! Marathon Weekend is definitely my favorite runDisney event and I highly recommend it!
Thanks, I really want to run (well, Galloway run/walk/run) a marathon at least once. I think I can do it!This race is actually nicely timed because you are pretty much at the taper phase by the time you get to Christmas. A lot of the runners who train in my area are doing the Disney marathon and they are perhaps smarter than me. I'm doing Celebration so I'm in the peak of training right now and had to juggle things around this last week to fit in the runs, but it wasn't as hard as I thought.
Because a marathon training cycle is typically fairly long, you really get into it more as a lifestyle change by the time you're so close to the race (only a few weeks out from Christmas) and I honestly think you'll be fine. Right now I'm at the stage so many probably find themselves, where it's not so much the actual race day, but how much I've invested over the past months that is keeping me motivated. You can do it![]()
I hope I'm not too late to be added to DopeyBadger's list. I just want to add that the generosity of time and spirit shown on this board is awesome! I expect my times to be slow, but I will post anyway.
I fly in the 2nd.So, when are our earliest runners heading for the world? We don't fly in until the 5th, but I'm already completely distracted about the trip!
I have a spectator question for the marathon. I'm running it this year and my wife and adult daughter will be spectating. I ran it last year and they saw me at the TTC, Poly, and then at the finish. THIS time they'd like to see the start. They know they won't be able to see me at the start among the masses and don't even care if they see my corral (D) begin. They both would just like to be as close to the start to see/hear what they can. But as soon as the race begins, they'll hustle over to the TTC or wherever they could logistically get to in order to see me pass by. They both are fine with running/jogging/navigating through crowds/whatever to get from one place to the next. I was just looking for anybody's experience on here with spectating near the start line. We will be staying onsite and will be relying on Disney transportation. Any input/tips would be greatly appreciated.
