Lunch On the Cheap with fridge(cooler) in the rooms

Whether we drive or fly, I always pack our travel snacks in smaller reusable containers that I can refill throughout the trip. I bring some that are sandwich size and some that are smaller. This way nothing gets crushed in our park bags. Some breakfast items include protein shakes, bananas, croissants, belvita breakfast biscuits and Greek yogurt. Snacks we may take with us are baby carrots, peanut butter filled pretzels, almonds, freeze-dried strawberries, goldfish and hard candy. We used to always bring a "backup" peanut butter sandwich when the kids were younger in case they didn't want anything on the menu at meal time. The "backup" was repurposed into breakfast the next day for one of the adults if it wasn't consumed.

It's been a couple of years, but the resort food courts used to sell a large pizza for around $23. It wasn't the best, but one pizza fed our family of 4 (2 adults, DS11 and DS9) with the addition of some baby carrots.

Like someone else recommended, we do PBJ (or similar) sandwiches. We have never taken a cooler into the parks, even in August. Even my non-thrifty family members enjoy the convenience of eating wherever we are when we get hungry. It does take some time to make all the sandwiches in the morning, so you will need to budget that into your rope drop schedule.
We really enjoy snacking in line. I get a mix of individual packaged snacks and larger bags that we put in baggies and refill daily. The Mickey goldfish are fun. For us, the only snack worth waiting in line to buy is ice cream.
We either bring our supplies from home (driving) or do a target drive up order on the drive in. I wouldn’t fly with perishables given the many grocery delivery options.

If I was planning for this type of trip. I would alternate between:

1: 2 x kids meals for lunch/dinner - enough food for me, and comes with a drink and side e.g. fruit or cookie. Breakfast is always cereal in the room. I would take a few snacks to the parks just in case, e.g. cereal bars, crisps.

2: Breakfast in room, 1 x QS adult meal in the parks for lunch, then something toasted e.g. bagel or toast in the food court communal toaster, or a sandwich of some sort.

I would have to budget for the odd snack or two in the parks during my trip, I would feel deprived if I didn't have the usual treats I can't get anywhere else 😋

Good call on the pizza. Its not great, but does the job for a reasonable price.
