Laura - I'm so sorry to hear about the layoff. But I firmly believe that things happen for a reason. You weren't really happy there, you mentioned Tim travelling a lot in January, and more time to enjoy the family over Christmas. Maybe this is the "push" you needed to get out of that job. I hope things all work out for you and your family!
OK, gals, I need advice big time.
Let's start with Ally having an upset tummy all weekend. Then last night we went to eat and she kept putting her head on the table, complaining that her tummy hurt, spending forever in the bathroom, etc.
Yesterday after school she came into my office and gave me a blank sheet of paper and asked me to sign it. Uh, no. I played that game when I was young, so I refused.
Then this mornning she brings me a scrap of paper on which she's written "I got a zero on my science test" and asked me to sign it. So I questioned her about it, still refused to sign this scrap of paper, and she basically told me she got a zero for cheating.
We questioned her more, and found out that her teacher took the test away from her
last Thursday and gave her a zero for cheating. So I just emailed her teacher, then called her to find out what's going on. I think I'm going to schedule a conference though - something's going on with Ally. She doesn't talk about any of the kids in her class this year, like she just doesn't have any friends. I don't know what's going on.
And the fact that she's known since last week, and tried to get me to sign a blank piece of paper and then she was going to write her note on it!!! What a sneak! I just don't know how to punish this one. Jeff and I told her no Disney this weekend. So basically no Disney this Christmas season. We weren't going anyway, but she doesn't know that. And all week I'm thinking of sending her to the guest room to do her homework and read and study. No TV, no toys. We are in uncharted territory here. This parenting stuff is tough!
