Oh, and the movie I made for the inlaws with all our pics from Disney - I used nearly 300 pics and when I transferred it to DVD, the sound didn't transfer for some reason. so I went back to try again and all the pics were gone!!! And I'm determined to make this work!!!!!

oh don't talk to me about the weather. I'm this close to having the girls run the stairs for fun. its 8 degrees out! There are 6 inches of snow on the ground.

Sorry Laura! It is almost as cold here today - I see 19 on your ticker at 7pm your time - we'll have 23 tonight and it's starting to snow. It is supposed to be really bad this weekend. Jim is driving home from California on Sunday over the mtns. Sometimes its "chains required"

Jillian you are a busy little bee! I was at Elizabeth's school all day for the Holiday Workshop. Plus, I actually made a "real" dinner! Now I am pooped!

I want to get my Mom a practical laminator. Any ideas? She already got one a few years ago but I am hoping they have made a better one.


And YES we are all pretty embarrassed here! What a loser Governor! Never liked him anyway. Doesn't do **** for education. BTW I love our Mayor so I hope he stays OK.

Hey guys!

Man, my town was really lucky with this storm that came through last night. We just had heavy, pouring rain - but surrounding towns had alot of damage. The three towns around us cancelled school because of no electricity; Amanda was one of only two kids who showed up in her class. One of Amanda's nurses, who lives 15 minutes away, has downed trees and power lines in her backyard. She has no electricity and was told it probably won't be back on until Monday! So she wants to come over to our house and work some extra hours!

Jillian - how is it up by you?

Cammie, I'm glad you didn't get the worst of it. I heard there was a huge ice storm. Maybe you should invite your nurse to stay - sounds like an idea to me!

It's really warm here and it just rained out. I have had family calling me all day to check on us I guess the news is really making out to be a bad storm? Not here at least ~ Glad you and the girls are safe.

I'm glad you didn't get hit so hard.

Skimming again. I've been sucked into my general holiday madness - so forgive me for not being around too much. I still have presents to wrap, presents to make (apple butter) places to visit, menus to plan, BONKERS!

We've been playing in the SNOW the past couple of days. We got about 4 good inches (FYI - For Nashville, that is a pretty good/once every 8 or so years type of snow) so we've been playing in it quite a bit. I think today though it will all be gone until next time.

Debbie - was it you who asked about the laminator? Can't help. I won a really junky purple cow one (basically two rolls of tape that stuck together. I hate to be a buzz kill, but for the things that we need done, we just take them to Kinkos. I wish I could be of some help - but that is one gizmo I really dont' know that much about. I would PRESUME that you'd want a heat one - and then you have to know that some things (receipts/concert tickets) will not hold up to the heat and will actually turn black. Hope that was of SOME help. Suggestion to look at - the hot "new" goodie that might have a good place is the Zutter Bind It All - it allows you to bind your own books/noteboooks, etc. I think it is expesive - $60ish but they carry it at Hobby Lobby which has 50% coupons - and I think Michaels has it too. That is what a lot of the scrapbookers I know want. Again, I'd just rather take mine to Kinkos for no more than I think I would use it.

There are not enough hours in the day this time of year. I'm overwhelmed with baking, wrapping, and STILL putting up some decorations! On top of that, I have friends tempting us to come over and "socialize" for the afternoon! Lauren has a mtg. for an extracuricular activity at her friend's house today and the mom & dad want me and Amanda to stick around and hang out. The dad is bragging about a new "CandyCane" martini recipe he wants me to try! Martinis in the middle of a sunday afternoon?! They are such a nice family and it would be fun to socialize but all I can think about is what I'm NOT getting done if I go!

And, of course -- I still need time to DIS!

I did the free trial of Muvee Reveal - but I can't get the audio to transfer. So Jeff got me Roxio Creator for Christmas and gave it to me today! He and Ally were out all day shopping. I'm glad they got to do it this year.

Still busy here - went to eh neighborhood Christmas carnival yesterday - games, food, Santa, socializing. It was nice but a little chilly.

Got the rest of my gifts wrapped today - Ally and I are about 90% packed - just need to gather everything from under the tree. Yesterday we decorated gingerbread cookies, made another batch of snowballs, and made and decorated sugar cookies. Busy, busy, busy!

Still need to finish laundry and get the house cleaned up.

HI girls! You are all so busy. I am being really laid back, which I will regret later, I'm sure. I will get some baking done right before Christmas, but I don't have many to give goodies too - everyone is always dieting.

I haven't wrapped gifts yet, Christmas cards I am mostly going to do by e-cards this year - If I don't get it done the first part of Dec, it just doesn't happen for me. I guess I really haven't started getting ready yet, except for some shopping.

I ordered a Garmin for Jim, and today I ordered him a new cell phone - his "free" one with our new contract is crap.

The girls are getting "Scentsy" wax warmers, and Arbonne and probably a gift card from the scrapbook store.

I ordered personalized park maps from WDW last year and they are so cool, that we decided to frame them for the boys. I got frames at Michaels and custom ordered some mats. Now I just need to put them together.

Jim just got home from a 4 day basketball trip, and we are headed out to the see "Austrailia" - once again, I am dodging any holiday prep I could be doing~

Hope everyone is doing okay with all of the cold weather, except for Kara of course, who lives at a tropical resort!

Cammie- A candy can martini sounds like that would hurt my stomach. I don't do well with mints w/ my reflux. It does sound like a yummy way to spend a sunday afternoon. I'm with you on the decorating This is only our 3rd year with our Christmas tree so we are still building our ornament collection so I keep adding and moving things around.

Kara- I am going to wrap tonight at least everything that is not Luca's. My mom decided she was going to cook Christmas dinner God bless her because I was really starting to fret. I wasn't sure I was going to get everything done and then Mike has to work that night AHHH!!!! Just thinking about it makes my head hurt. I couldn't imagine doing everthing and then going out of town on top of it all! Will Jeff be going with you or going later?

hey there! Just a note from the frozen tundra. It was -8 when I took Beth to school today. I took have been attempting to avoid getting ready for christmas. Baked all day yesterday. Enjoyed the time to myself. I made my favorite "cookie" Cap'n Crunch, peanuts all covered in Almond bark. I know it isn't a cookie but it is close enough for me.

Kara- you guys are flying then driving home, right? Good luck!

Debbie and Laura- Yuck on your weather we just got over that and today the temp is already in the 50's. I wish it would just stay warm or cold.

I am baking all this weekend I am going to get candy for pretzels this week and I am going to have my young cousins over to help decorate their own. I think it is more fun this way.

Debbie and Laura, I guess we all have Winter, huh? We've had snow for 3 days, expected all week.

Jillian - you sound so organized with your prep!

I got out the park maps and frames today - what a bomb First, I ordered the mats wrong, so they won't be matted. Then, I broke the glass on one, and "dinged" up the corner on the other. Now I have to go get frames and start over. What a waste of $$. And they look okay, but not what I pictured.

I haven't wrapped one gift, and I realized I need stocking stuffers, things for our dads, and gift cards for the girls. I will go out tomorrow night, I think. I was going to work tonight and shop tomorrow night, but I ate some leftover Chinese from last night, and I'm really sick. I took some pepto - hope it kicks in, I need to get some things ready for a luncheon tomorrow.

Debbie - I know this is late, but are you still looking for a laminator? I read good reviews on a Purple Cow brand - it is their heat laminator. I didn't get a price though.

Tammie - I'm with you - not so much wrapping done. Then I discovered a pile of things that I meant to take down to give. I sware, I'm drowning!

I've made cards until I'm sick of making cards! Seriously! I think I'm up to about 30 by now. I'm getting creative juiced out. I still have the apple butter to make. But at least I think EVERYONE Is behind. This season is so lovely, but it is so stressful at the same time!

I'm just going to put my blanket comment out there about the facebook thing - I KNOW NOTHING about how that crazy thing works except I don't think I have time for it all. I have no idea what a wall is - or what to do when people write on it. About my involvement is that I clicked yes to some friend requests, that is about it. SO PLEASE don't think I'm ignoring anyone, that site is just way down on a very long to-do list. DIS is suffering these days and it is WAY WAY WAY higher on my list than that place!

We're getting freezing rain here. LOVELY! I hate that stuff. At least tomorrow afternoon we should thaw out, but it is always such a traffic nightmare!

Just a couple minutes to catch up.

Ally, Bucky and I are DRIVING up by ourselves - leaving Saturday and spending the night in VA - then we should get to my P's house around 2ish on Sunday. Jeff is flying in on Christmas eve and we'll all drive back together. We're driving the 8-9 hrs to his parents house the Sat after Christmas, have our Christmas with them and then drive home Sunday.

Oh, and BSIL emailed me yesterday to say they might drive to his parent's house to surprise them while we're there. Yeah, that's all well and good, I know Jeff's mom would love it, but it sucks for us cause we get kicked to the basement to sleep on a nasty air mattress so the princess can sleep in her old room. Sucks! But Jeff doesn't think she'll make the trip anyway.....

Everyone sounds crazy busy! I got all my wrapping done, and all the gifts are stowed in shopping bags for the trip this weekend. Ally's laptop came yesterday so I got it up and running. I just need to download songs to her el cheapo mp3 player we got her so it's ready to go when she opens it.

Finally got the movie done for Jeff's parents. It came out really good and my photos finally matched the song transitions. I think they'll like it at least.

Baking done. All in the freezer to take to the P's. Still need to get a book for Ally's book exchange at school, and that should be it. I stress so bad but now I see that I'm really almost ready to go, so hopefully I can just relax for a few days.....
