Wow Kara that is a difficult one. I think taking Disney away was the right thing. As for me I would take away the TV and Video games. Also maybe she needs to write an Paragraph for you on why cheating is not a good idea? She may be stressed about moving and friends it's hard no matter how old you are.

Debbie- Mike has been taking the Laptop to work so that is helping me stay off the computer. With this weather it has been to cold outside to even think.

Cammie- Hope that ankle is better I broke mine 10 years ago and it still bothers me in this weather. By the way it is freakin freezing!

Tammie- Hope your dad is doing better. Please let me know if you need anything.

Ok girls I need some help. One of my dear friends is going thru Chemo right now. I am having a really hard time just calling her. What is wrong with me? I love her she is such a good friend, but I just can't see her. I should have prefaced this by saying in my teen years my grandmother and grandfather died of Lung cancer and they lived with us I took care of them both while my parents were working to afford their medicines. Any ideas???

Jillian - you win the discipline award!:thumbsup2 Ally is in the kitchen right now writing me a paragraph and listing 3 reasons why cheating is bad. Great idea! She's also been grounded from "screens" (tv, video games, computer) through Friday. This stinks.

As for your friend, I can't even imagine. My experience with that is watching Desperate Housewives when everyone was afraid to be around Lynette when she was sick. But I agree with Tammie - you don't want to have any regrets later.... :confused3

OMG They just arrested our Governor! How embarrassing!

I've been watching that all day! What kind of crazy place do you live? :rotfl2: I had a roommate who used to claim that her "Uncle Mike" was head of the Chicago mafia. I still believe it. I never met her dad but I talked to him on the phone when he would call and he scared the crap out of me!

Hi everyone!

Kara - I'm sorry miss Ally is having troubles. I think you really did the right thing to make the consequences for her cheating big. As for her stomach aches, it is a good idea to find out if there is anything going on at school, and then keep an eye on her - if she gets a fever or anything, take her in. I had a little friend when I was little who kept having stomach aches, so his mom didn't listen to him and he got a burst appendix and died! I don't mean to scare you, but sometimes it will act up for awhile before actually becoming abscessed.

Okay everyone, this week needs to look up now! This time of year is really hard sometimes, isn't it?

I'm pretty sure her tummy troubles were from nerves because she had this whole cheating thing hanging over her head. No tummy ache today now that it's out in the open.

It's 4:30pm and I havent' even showered today! :scared1: It's gloomy (but it's 76 degrees!) and I've just been so busy at work - have several errands to run tonight and make my gingerbread men tonight. Then I have a couple more batches of snowballs and Jeff's grandmothers nut cookies to make on Saturday and THAT'S IT!!!!

This is a tough time of year, Tammie. I love it and hate it at the same time.

I really feel for you Jillian .. A friend of mine died 3 years ago this month and she was so sick with cancer for so long and it was so hard on her and tough to see her go through it, she never once lost her faith that she would be healed, unfortunately that healing never came for her but i know that having everyone she loved around her and going through the pain with her meant so much to her .. There wasn't a huge amount i could do but 1 thing i did do when she was up to it we went out for cake, she was a huge sugar rush fan :) so we'd go out for yummy cakes as often as poss .. It must be so hard for you after watching people you love go through this much pain, first step is giving her a call and just saying you love her etc  sending my thoughts and prayers to you

Thanks everyone for your help I am going to give her a call tomorrow and have her come for dinner also I have purchesed a beautiful scarf for her she's losing her hair and has decided to shave it all off. I printed out instructions on how to wear it. Hopefully it will be okay.

Kara- I am glad Ally is feeling better and the reason I had that idea is from my mother she made me do it. Good Luck you are a super mother.

Tammie- Glad to hear about your Dad

OMG Kara! That had to be tough on Ally to carry around. I'm glad she came clean. I'm sure this will make an impact on her forever. I love the paragraph idea. Good luck!

Jillian just saying hi will make her feel better. Good luck

Debbie--Are there any more Cons in IL? hahaha That is crazy!

I'm still limited on computer time. Tim's still home. I'm hoping to sneak some more time tonight. I'm coming to terms with being done at work. I think it is for the best. We're in for snow this weekend and we will actually be able to take the sleds out for a good run. The girls are looking forward to it. Also I think this will help Tim and I get closer. We drifted apart working seperate shifts.

Hey guys - i'm behind again. I'm more busy with CArlos home than when he isn't here!

I'm a little in the dumps. My dad isn't doing well. The feebleness of the alzhimers is setting in. It is so sad. We are going there to see him soon, and I'm just really not looking forward to what it will be like.

Cammie - still here. Just going crazy. Lots of things I wanted to get done - only a smidge of that getting done. I'm just a disorganized mess.

Kara - Okay, I'd love to see you but you DO NOT need to drive through Chattanooga during winter! The roads (the ones coming out and heading into Nashville) are right on a mountain side and it is only like a guard rail and a 50 foot drop off. The grade on the roads is a PITA during non-icy conditions. I dunno - if there is any chance of slick roads in that higher elevation I would not do it. I know you HATE flying but seriously get you something to knock you out and fly. I HATE flying, but I'd rather fly 15 hours than be in a car in Chattanooga during winter! :scared1:

Man - it is already too late. I have got to get to bed. CArlos goes to the dentist tomorrow so I've been printing his forms. I did an oopsie on our checking account that resulted in a $280 fee. I am going to have me a chat with someone in the morning about that one  I'm all for penalties but give me a break!

I hope all of you girls who are dealing with the yucky stuff have the tide turn! I will send prayers to your Dads Tammie and Renee.
I always feel like the holidays bring so much joy but also a lot of crap seems to come down around the holidays as well so EVERYONE hang in there. I have to back away from the computer for the day.....its always so easy to escape here!

Hey all sounds like we are all having difficult days. YUCK!!! We need a vacation.

Renee- When Mike is home I am always busier. I can get things done I cannot when he is at work. Good luck with your dad.

Well the weather is CRAZY here it is 60 out but so windy it is hard to walk also it is suppose to pour so I am going to hop in the shower now so I can get out before that happens

hey there!

Nuts here too. The girls want to spend all day in the snow and I am feeling that I need to get the house in tip top shape- for no reason. Has anyone done the land/sea combo? Free kids sounds too good to be true

Hi all! Just a quick stop by - no time to catch up. Just wanted you to know I'm thinking about you and miss our time here; just too busy right now!

Debbie - what a freakin' crazy state you live in!

Checking in Kara says she misses everyone she is too busy to check in. I am waiting for Luca to nap so I can get some cleaning done and I am just ordering a few more presents and then I am done. I am going to wrap this weekend and then I am done other than stockings. Weekends almost here:banana:

Gee Jillian - I feel like such a slacker compared to you! I'm not even half way done yet - AND we have such a busy weekend coming up!

Hey all, quick fly by! Work is absolutely nuts right now! Working late each night, plus baking, shopping, getting hair done, etc. I'm stressing. Just one more weekend before we leave for Ohio! :scared1:

Then last night the stupid dog got a present out from under the tree and chewed it up. Ally was devastated! It was the gift she got me from the little shopping they had at school! Luckily he didn't hurt the gift itself, just destroyed the packaging. My hand hurt from smacking his big ole butt!

Jeff just said, "gee, I hope I'm as lucky with my present from Ally" ;) :rotfl2:

Oh, and the movie I made for the inlaws with all our pics from Disney - I used nearly 300 pics and when I transferred it to DVD, the sound didn't transfer for some reason. so I went back to try again and all the pics were gone!!! And I'm determined to make this work!!!!!

I'll be back!

Renee and Tammie - keeping your dads in my prayers
Jillian - good call having your friend for dinner
Debbie - just how corrupt are you Illinois folks?
Laura - how much snow do you have????
Cammie - getting ice yet?

We got some storms today - it was 73 at 8am today. Crazy!

Thought this was cute...

oh don't talk to me about the weather. I'm this close to having the girls run the stairs for fun. its 8 degrees out! There are 6 inches of snow on the ground.

Hi Girls,
Jillian you are a busy little bee! I was at Elizabeth's school all day for the Holiday Workshop. Plus, I actually made a "real" dinner! Now I am pooped!

To my scrapbookers...
I want to get my Mom a practical laminator. Any ideas? She already got one a few years ago but I am hoping they have made a better one.

And YES we are all pretty embarrassed here! What a loser Governor! Never liked him anyway. Doesn't do **** for education. BTW I love our Mayor so I hope he stays OK.

HI girls! Just stopping by to say hi! I'll be back later to comment.

My dad went home yesterday and is doing really well! Thanks for your prayers. Renee, how is your dad? Some how I missed that post, and I've gone back, but can't see it.

Great news about your Dad Tammie...
Actually getting a lot done today. Laura your ticker is so depressing!

I'll have to check it out too!

Have fun tonight! Just remember I told you to "focus" when he goes back to the HS to sing by himself in the locker room!

RE:Face book...it is VERY simple. You can spend as little or as much time as you want on it. It is VERY addicting if you are searching for people. It's silly. If you are single you can mingle there. You can make your account private so only people you accept as friends can view it. You can use your own email address book to see who else you know belongs to face book.

Just start out with just us dis buddies like I did and then you can branch out when you feel more comfortable. The key is to set it to private after you set it up.

Look at the top of all the listed threads (User CP). The DIS even does facebook!

Hey guys!

Man, my town was really lucky with this storm that came through last night. We just had heavy, pouring rain - but surrounding towns had alot of damage. The three towns around us cancelled school because of no electricity; Amanda was one of only two kids who showed up in her class. One of Amanda's nurses, who lives 15 minutes away, has downed trees and power lines in her backyard. She has no electricity and was told it probably won't be back on until Monday!:scared1: So she wants to come over to our house and work some extra hours!

Jillian - how is it up by you?

It's really warm here and it just rained out. I have had family calling me all day to check on us I guess the news is really making out to be a bad storm? Not here at least ~ Glad you and the girls are safe.
