Hey everyone, I am at the hospital now, and Dad is getting a pacemaker put in. He feels a little better today - he seems to have all his memory and everything, is less dizzy and has some vision back. Thanks so much for your prayers.

And, you want to know how pathetic I am? One of Lauren's favorite memories of our Christmas mornings is eating cinammon rolls also - except I just crack open the Pillsbury ones! She seems content with those so she has no idea what she's missing out on by not having home-made. I'm wondering if I should give them a try this year.

Kids are so sweet - they aren't picky, just love that we do something special for them. The way to do the "almost homemade" - they turn out so well, no one knows:

Buy frozen bread dough that is formed in loaves - thaw it out overnight on a greased cookie sheet. In the morning, roll is out flat with a rolling pin - about 12 x 12 or 12x15 - Butter it generously, then sprinkle well with cinnamon and sugar. Roll up the dough until you have the long strip, then cut into 1 inch. slices. Melt 1/2 a stick of butter in your 9x13 cake pan, sprinkle brown sugar over that - then place the slices in the pan. Let rise about an hour, then bake at 350 until golden brown. Dump the pan upside down on another pan. You have cinnamony, gooey goodness!

Tammie - I'm so sorry about your dad! Do they think his vision should clear up soon? How are his spirits? I hope he can get out of the hospital soon. I'll keep him and your family in my prayers.

And - sorry, but Matthew Mc. doesn't do it for me. He just seems too grubby to me. Yet, I don't seem to mind Johnny Depp's grubbiness - go figure!

Sorry I missed that Samantha Brown special. I don't know if I've seen it before. I have a couple saved on my Tivo; I'll have to see if it's already on there! And, yes - you must experience WDW at least once at the holidays!:santa:

I was always the good girl, so the "bad boy" look appeals to me. Jim was my "bad boy" - long hair and everything! :hippie: Plus, I had to give Tessa a choice - I mean she did say MAN :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

thanks...:):confused3 :lovestruc

Hi! do you want to be a control freak and worry wart with us?

Tammie--my heart and prayers are with your family.:flower3: :grouphug:

Cammie--that is our tradition every Saturday morning, I crack open the cinnamon rolls and we watch a dog show--like Breed all about it from Animal Planet or Looney Toons. My girls love grandma's homemade ones but I just can't get the filling just right.

Thanks Laura - I put my recipe above.

Tammie...so sorry for you Dad. I hope it all works out! I will be thinking of you and sending prayers!
Cammie..I thought you like grubby...IE Saywer???
Hi Laura!
Hi Everyone else.
I gotta run....
I am really stressing today so I will be off the computer for awhile.

I KNOW! That's what I was thinking - HELLO, Sawyer!:lmao:

Debbie - don't stress!!!! Just escape with us!

Tammie - Glad to hear your dad is doing better. Hope everything goes well with the pacemaker.

And thanks for that recipe. I just may have to try it! But how annoyed will I be if I go to all that trouble and Lauren tells me she prefers Pillsbury instead!:rotfl:

I don't know what it is about Matthew Mc - he's just icky to me! Yes, I know Sawyer is grungy but I don't seem to mind it on him! I just never seemed to be attracted to really "buff" guys. Geez - you've seen pictures of my ex, haven't you?:lmao:

I'll stick to my "cutie-pie, at least he's over 18" eye candy!;)

Debbie - No stress allowed! Afterall - "It's the MOST Wonderful Time of the Year!":santa:

Ok, so I just got back from the mall - second day in a row there; second day in a row I had to cut my shopping short because my foot is KILLING me! I can't walk without limping and I have no idea what I did! I did increase the incline that I'm walking on the treadmill, but I didn't really feel like is was causing a strain. But the left side of my left foot really hurts when I walk - it does feel like a muscle is sore. Usually I can just walk these things out, but not this time.

This is not a good time of year to be happening!

I know that reciepe. :rotfl: Its the Rhodes caramel rolls!! :rotfl: My mom has that one in the family cook book. I think that one is a MN standard.

I understand the escape thing. When Tim was in surgery, I loved having the laptop to escape from the pressure. I knew that I could come here and have a positive voice to cheer me up.

Anybody ever use Anysolider.com? Beth wants to send letters over to a serviceman but I don't know one specifically. I figured I'd give this one a try. The dear abby one isn't listed that I could find. :(

kara I couldn't resist....it's a bad cut and paste but still it made me laugh....

What's so funny Cammie? Laura was just kidding - that's not really a cut and paste - it's really me!!!!! ;)

Where is everybody?:confused3

Ok, well we know where Kara is.........out jogging with Matthew. But everyone else?

Don't make me start posting my eye candy again! (surprisingly you all come out of the woodwork when I do though! )

I HAVE to stay off the computer until tonight! I am punishing myself! The house is a garbage pit!!!
:rotfl2: ME TOO!

May be our Christmas card; still have to check out my photopass pix:

:lovestruc You guys are just too cute in that pic!

Sweet story - over the weekend we were sitting outside at the bar and Ally was of course, ahem, bartending. She said she wanted to "give her tips to poor people." I told her she could drop her money in the red bucket at the grocery store where the Salvation Army bell ringers are. So she went inside and wrote a note...

"I feel bad for you and my mommy is going to find us a way to help you. Love Ally."

I cried! I told her I would find us a place to volunteer a few hours a week starting in January - maybe a soup kitchen or somewhere that Ally can help, too. She wants to put the note in the bucket, too. How sweet is that?
:sad1: what a sweetie!

Kara & Tammie - thanks for the recipes. Printed them off! :thumbsup2 I've never done a breakfast casserole and I've been wanting those santa pancake molds they have at William Sonoma so badly, but I think I still may skip them and try the casserole.

Erin & Tessa- my word - sounds like Thanksgiving and Christmas all rolled into one. I wish I could think of Anything to help with the stress of that preperation Tessa. Maybe a trip to the dr and a good anti-anxiety drug! Seriously, I'm sure you will do fine with it. Just plan it all out on the front end and it will be okay.

I take a few days off and I have a zillion pages to catch up on again. Let's see. SINUS INFECTION AGAIN! This time I'm on Augmentin two huge pills twice a day. The pharmasist made a note on the package to come & tell me personally that this is a very high dose and to make certain I eat and still expect to feel like I will barf. I'm so sick of it. I have no taste. ERRR. I've been referred to our best hospitals allergy/sinus program so I'm hopeful they can figure all this out. I've found a knot on the back of my neck, so I'm sorta feaked about that at the moment. It doesn't feel like lympth nodes, just a large slightly raised area on the left side of my neck beside the bone. I'm hoping it could be related to the infection - so we will see if it goes away on its own.

Our computer SUCKS! This think is about to explode. I've just about got Carlos convinced to get a new one, so we will see.

Him being off for this month has been.... different. I'm so use to doing everything that I don't know what to do with the help! Then again, I feel like I now have 3 children to tidy up after rather than two. :lmao:

Okay, tonight I need to get some housekeeping things done and hopefully wrap some gifts. I can't believe it is almost the 6th already!

How did that photographer get my picture behind Matthew? :rotfl2:

I don't think I was EVER that fit! And thin. And hot. And that close to Matthew. And is she checking out his butt???? :lmao:

Who wouldn't? :thumbsup2

mmmmmm, the pics are getting better every day on here.... !

Tessa

You're welcome!

Oh, I hope your foot gets better. Were you wearing tennies? Maybe they are getting too "broke in." :confused3 That happens to me - I have the worst time with shoes.

Laura, I've heard good things about anysoldier - don't have any personal experience I'm sorry to say. How sweet of Beth!

Renee, I'm so sorry about your sinus trouble. I hope they get it figured out soon! This is a good time to put your feet up and let Carlos take care of you! :goodvibes

My dad did really well with the pacemaker! He's feeling much better today - has some of his vision back, and can sit up without getting sick. It was nice to see the monitor after his pacemaker was in. They expect him to come home Monday. He seems to be doing really well except for his vision. A couple of times he said some gibberish instead of what he was trying to say, but that was right after surgery, so I don't think it was stroke related.

Thanks again for your support, everyone! :grouphug:

Hi all

now, the candy is getting better - so thought I'd add my "type" into the mix

wizened and moody... (or old and wrinkly:rolleyes:)
Tessa

Hi everyone things have been so busy with Christmas shopping I haven't had a chance to get on here.

Tammie- My prayers are with your dad. I am glad to hear things are starting to get better. Call me if you need anything.

Kara- I knew Matthew was cheating I just never thought with one of my Disbuddies. :lmao:

Renee- Get better I was just talking to Mike about a new computer for the house. Having a hubby home puts a cramp in the day. I have things on a schedule and he just gets in the way.

Okay, I sware I skim, then I read others comments and I'm like :confused3 was I asleep when I read that before 'cause I sware I missed it - and they were biggies too!

1. Cammie - what about the foot???

2. Laura - That is very sweet of Beth. My DSB really enjoyed the school kids writing to him while he was in Iraq. I haven't heard anything bad about Anysoldier.com. There is another program where you adopt an unit and write to the commander who shares it with the whole group - that might maximize what she is trying to do. I can't remember the name of that one though. I'll ask my DSB.

3. Cammie - I am so glad that your father is doing well. Again - I missed that all together!

I'm so tired today. I stayed up until 1 am but by golly, I got those Christmas cards (all 58 :rolleyes1 ) in the mail today. DONE! One thing done, off my list. YAY! I had planned to stay up and piddle with crafts, but I"m thinking of sinking into bed here in a few and getting a good nights rest. I've got those tired eyes that ache.

Did anyone see that Christmas Disney deal at the top - $61/day for the value. I'm tempted. However, it is flippin cold here! What the heck. We only made it into the 40s and it felt like 8 degrees lower with the wind chill. What is up with that in the south! I'm never in a coat until at least January and I froze my tush off today!

Okay Tessa - I'd have to say this one is a little too "wizened" even for me!:goodvibes

Thanks Jillian - he seemed a little less sick today - he was sitting up and watching football this afternoon, but there was another scare with his heart during the night last night. My sibs are all coming home tomorrow.

Okay, I sware I skim, then I read others comments and I'm like :confused3 was I asleep when I read that before 'cause I sware I missed it - and they were biggies too!

Renee, that's great you got your cards done! I haven't even started on them yet. I actually may just do e-cards this year and do a letter next year - we'll see.

Yah, I saw the deal - too bad it's only until Jan. I booked my last 3 nights for March tonight. We only used points for 5 nights at SSR. I waited too long for SOG, it's booked, so I went with Buena Vista Suites - all newly refurbished, and not much more than SOG, and free breakfast! It will be wierd to be off-site, but we'll have a car, so should be okay.

I also got a good rate at MGM Grand in Vegas for my April convention, so I booked that, too. I love the pool at that hotel - it always feels like there isn't enough "down time" for the pool at convention. Debbie, you're a consultant - you should come along! :thumbsup2 Now I just have to find cheaper flights. I'm really frustrated that the gas prices are the lowest in a couple of years, and yet the flights are still way more than last year!

Okay, gotta go see what Cammie is up to on her TR! Talk to you all tomorrow, I think!:grouphug:

hi everybody!

Glad to hear your dad is doing better Tammie.

Renee-- i don't think I can talk to you any more. Having your christmas cards done is too much for me.:rotfl2: Mine are still in my head. They generally get to people right on Christmas or fter. :lmao:

I'm at work today. Wow it is busy.

We've been asked to "sell" beds now and put them all on sale. I was shocked. But any marketing is better than none.

It's BELOW ZERO wind chill and snowing!!!:scared1:

WooHoo - it's snowing here too!:woohoo: Just a light dusting though!

Have sooo much to do! Trying to get the lights on the tree before the girls come home tonite so we can decorate. Still need to order my xmas cards AND do my photopass! YIKES!!!!

I promise to go back and read what I've missed. I see that our long-lost buddy Renee has been here....................
