Lisa's Wish Journal - Now we have gone Dopey.

Hi Lisa sounds like you had a busy weekend too. I hear you about the cleaning it is much easier when you are alone.

Great about your friend going with you to the 1/2.

Linda

How fun that your friend is going to join you for the half marathon. I bet you will have a great girls weekend. Kudos to your friend for having the energy take this on while pregnant. If she is already very fit her Dr. will likley clear her. If not, I bet she would make a great cheer leader.

Just popping in to say hi!

I think it's so great that you're doing the 1/2 marathon! One of my personal goals is to complete a race at a Disney park.

Thanks for all the support on my journal! I agree with you with the school, if you want upor child to buy a book, that is what they should have had her buy. They need to except comments if they have an open format on facebook. Thanks, keep up your Great work too!

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by.

Yesterday I was able to get in two walks. One at work for 47 minutes and a second at the soccer field while DD practiced for 58 minutes. I get a way better work out at the soccer field as only part of the field has sidewalks, the other half is grass. Was I tired last night. :upsidedow

DD had a good soccer practice and she is much improved over last year. Plus the coach she has this year works with all the kids equally and everyone gets the same amount of time and instruction. I really like that. The coach she had the first year was the same way.

DS had a swim meet yesterday and he swam in 4 events. He has already qualified for State with his 200 relay team and is close to state time for his individual 50 and 500 free styles.

Linda - I keep saying I need a week at home with no one around to clean the house completely and properly. But that will never happen.

Lola - we are hoping that her doctor will say yes. Keeping our fingers and toes crossed.

Joyful - You can do it. I needed a goal and something to focus on last year and this is what I chose. What did it for me was being able to go "behind the scenes" at the parks. Just the fact that I would get to go there was a great motivator for me.

Ana - I'm with you on the open forum. Some people are just waaaaay to sensitive.

and with the on going saga of the PTO. Never got a reply from my email on the Dad's shirts. So one friend posted a facebook message asking when the designs were going to be posted for us to see the colors. Then I posted asking about the Dad's design. Then someone else chimed in about the Dad's design. :thumbsup2 We finally got a reply back that they didn't do a Dad's shirt cause they didn't think there would be an interest for that. (I know lots of Fathers who are very proud to support their kids schools and do whenever possible) Aren't you all proud of me that I waited and was so nice? :rolleyes1

Great job getting your walks in, Lisa!:cheer2:

That is wonderful that your DS has qualified for state in swimming!:cheer2:

Way to go to your DD!!!:cheer2: My DD has had a number of soccer coaches over the years and the coach really can make a difference in how the kids play.

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Thanks Tracy, yesterday was a good day. :goodvibes

Today I got in 49 minutes of walking at work (inside) and did 20 laps. Still have no idea how far I am walking as I can not figure out my pedometer. :confused3 I am working on getting the space I walk measured, then I'll know. :thumbsup2 I was able to get a good pace going and keep it.

Lisa, excellent job getting those walks in!:thumbsup2 I bet that felt good when someone noticed your pace. That is very exciting about April's pregnancy, I hope it still works for her to go! Good for her for wanting to still do this even with this baby on the way!

That is great ds qualified for state already, maybe he'll get a swimming scholarship to college? You must be very proud and rightly so!

PTO's just crack me up. Yeah, I think many dad's do enjoy supporting their kids' school!

My Lil Pony, that brings back memories from a few years back with dd.

Great job getting those walks in!! Sounds like a great way to make use of some down time at work.

I'm also glad to hear you got an answer about the dad T-shirts. How weird that they would think only mom's would want to participate. :confused3

very wierd about not doing the dads t-shirts!!! well done on handling it so beautifully :) sound like your doing an amazing job with the walking & 3 miles in 40 mins is brilliant - takes me 30 mins to jog 3 miles!! so by my reckoning your just shy of breaking into a jog :)

Hey Lisa, I hope your week got off to a great start. :goodvibes

How is your dd's dance (and yours) going? My dd started dance back up after a four year break, I am so excited for her! And thought of you when I was at the dance studio.

Hello everyone. Sorry for being absent and ignoring my thread. Thank you all for the wondeful comments. :goodvibes Oh, just realized it's been a full week. :upsidedow oh boy.....

Well let's see......
last Thursday I walked at work and then at the soccer field. only DD had soccer practice so we got home at a decent time.

Friday, work was a short day. Homecoming at the high school and DS was doing color guard with the JROTC, so we all went to see him. Saw an old friend so I sat by him while DD sat with one of her friends, DH was on the field with the EMTs and DS was on the field doing color guard.

Saturday was a busy day. Hair appt in Mandeville, (45 minutes away) then back home. A few hours later I was off to a DisMeet on the GulfCoast (1 hour away). Stopped by the Disney Store first (a must do) and then on to dinner with my Gulfcoast Dis friends. We had a wonderful time. :goodvibes Back home to pick up DH and we went up to the school for the end of the Homecoming Dance and to help clean up.

Sunday was a quiet day at home with Gram coming for dinner.

Monday was dance for DD and I, zumba was much better this week. I'm getting the hang of it. :thumbsup2 Amy, you are right, it is soooo much fun.

Tuesday started off with a headache that didn't go away. I finally went home at lunch and promptly went to sleep. Took DD to soccer practice (walked a bit), then to DS' home swim meet. He is getting closer to state time on the 50 Free. He is determined to make it. He has another 4 weeks, so I think he can do it. He needs to shave off about 1 second from his time. You would think one second is no big deal, but in swimming they get down to tenths of seconds.

Today was better. Headache finally gone. We are having a Fall Fest at work tomorrow and your's truly is right in the middle of it. I went from selling tickets to do a WHOLE bunch of other stuff. Told my boss that he better come in early if he wants to see me in the office at all. :rotfl: No walking today, which really bummed me. But I had a lot to do getting ready for tomorrow that I just didn't have time. Gram comes for dinner on Wednesdays also, so no walking in the evening.

I am really looking forward to mid November as soccer for DD and swim for DS will be over and I will be able to get my long walks back in. I am trying to work out a different schedule but haven't gotten any solid yet.

Whew, what a week. After tomorrow, things should slow down a bit. The next big thing I have at work is our Department picnic on October 7. Then Halloween party on October 28, 5K first week of November, Thanksgiving lunch November 18......oh man, how do I get into these things?????? and this is just extra work stuff. .......

I hope everyone had a great weekend and is having a great week. I am off to check in on everyone now.

Mission accomplished! :thumbsup2 I got to check in and visit with everyone this evening. Thanks for the great visits. See you all again in the next couple of days. :goodvibes

I  my Dis friends.

Today was a totally awesome day at work. We did a Fun Run/Walk, 1.5 miles and I averaged a 13.5mm pace. very happy about that! Then we had a carnival type Fall Fest complete with games, dunking booth and junk food. I got to sell tickets and take everyone's money. The fest was a huge success and everyone was asking when we were going to do it again. Very tired, but very happy.

I also got 45 minutes walking in at the soccer field tonight. :thumbsup2 I also avoided the cotton candy and snow balls that we had today. Today was a good day. :goodvibes

Awesome day Lisa! That sounds like a blast and some good team building for work.

Have a great weekend

Linda

Awesome week Lisa! I hear you on not getting to your own journal for days on end. Some weeks just don't go as planned huh?

You are busy, busy, busy! I hear you on that too, but when you have kids you want them to be involved in stuff but it just gets to be a lot sometimes!

Keep up the walking and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!:goodvibes
