Lisa's Wish Journal - Now we have gone Dopey.

How do you like Zumba? It's my favorite workout!

I hope you, your DS, and your DD are feeling much better soon. :wizard:

Have a nice Wednesday!

Lisa, I am glad you dh finally made it home! Its a good thing he has you looking out for him when he's stuck in a strange city! I remember once having to get on google earth to help Dan find his hotel on a business trip. What did we do before computers?

I saw pretzel m&m's at Sams yesterday (they had samples) and I thought I had better not even try one!

Good job getting the walks in, doing well with your food and doing Zumba! I need to try this out, they have a class at my rec center but I am too chicken to go by myself. Why don't you come out here and go with me?;)

Hello Ladies :wave2: know what I don't like? sinus headaches. Had one for three days. Finally just a twinge now.

Food has been good as I haven't felt like eating much, walks, not so good. I did dance on Monday and walked on Tuesday, had a really good walk also, despite the headache beginning. It's weird, it doesn't hurt so bad when I am up walking around.

But yesterday was the worst day. I tried going to work, but didn't last a couple hours. I came home and slept for about 6 hours. Then got a couple of horrible phone calls and went back to bed for the rest of the evening. Poor DD. She got herselft a bowl of cheerios for dinner and took her bath by herself. By 8:00pm she was in bed with me. I was awake just laying down trying not to be sick. :sad2: DH was at DS' swim meet, so it was just the two of us. I was awake when DH & DS came home and if it wouldn't have hurt to laugh I would have. When DD heard the door open, she quickly turned off the tv and pretended to be asleep beside me. :rotfl2: She faked out DH good, cause he saw us in bed (presumbly asleep) shut the bedroom door and left her in there with me. I was so proud of her for taking care of herself that I didnt' say anything to her. We are having trouble getting her to sleep in her room. :confused3 but I felt she deserved it last night. Tonight she is sound in her bed.

It seems there might be some problems between my mother, my youngest DB and the neighbor who bought my mother's land several years ago. I am so concerned that I had to call my oldest brother and tell him it's time for a visit. I need his help. I rarely ask him to come much less for assistance, so he knows it's bad and he promised to try to come Labor Day weekend. I can always count on this brother, which is a very good feeling. I just hate that I had to call him at all.

A bright spot in the week. I realized when I got to work that today is the first day to make Candle Light Processional reservations. I had none of my Disney info with me, couldn't get on the Disney reservation page at work, so I had to sit in my car, on my cell phone at lunch time. 30 minutes on hold and I talked to the nicest lady, I wish I had gotten her name. We have an ADR at Coral Reef for the very first showing on November 26. We have never seen this show before and I think it will be a very nice way to begin the Christmas season. :goodvibes

oohhhh i loved candle light Procession, hope you love it too :)
hope your DB can help out with the issues.
thanks for stopping by my journal & for the safe journey wishes - i hate flying, not enough to stop me going to wdw but do not enjoy it one bit - so thx again xxx

Hello Tracey, welcome back and welcome over.

I am very happy to report that today was soooo much better. Had a couple minor issues with olderst DS, but got it worked out.

Headache is finally gone. :cool1: Wouldn't wish those things on anyone....well, maybe a couple people.....:rolleyes1 just because they don't understand how very horrible they can be.

Going tomorrow to help DS get a new car. His is dying. Good news is, he was able to get pre-approved at the bank on his own. Bad news is they want 20% down. :headache: He only has 10%. So, I called the bank and had myself put on the application and now he can get what he needs without a down payment. Although I told him he was still putting the 10% down. Hopefully we will be successful tomorrow.

Food was good today, really watched portions. No walking today although I did take the stair several times.

Quiet evening at home with DD so the day is ending on a good note.

Sending some car shopping :wizard::wizard: your way. I hope you can find a car for your DS at an affordable price!:thumbsup2

Woohoo on the Candlelight Processional!! :yay: Do you know who is narrating the night you are going?

I hope you have a nice weekend!

Thanks for all the well wishes Tracy. they certainly helped. :thumbsup2

Got DS a car that is exactly what he needed for a very good price. :thumbsup2 Helped that it was raining (hard) and there were no other customers. Guess most people don't car shop in the rain. But we were desperate. Got him a good car for a good price and we are all happy.

Isabella Roselini is on the schedule to be narrating the night we attend the Candle Light Processional. I am not too familiar with her, but I looked her up on line and I remember seeing her in a couple things. Would love to see Whoopi, but she is scheduled for the middle of December.

We had rain, rain and rain this weekend and it is still raining. But... it isn't hot, so I'm not complaining at all.

Did okay with food this weekend, but no exercise. Did good today and went to dance class. We did the full Zumba dvd tonight. WOW! I really liked it much better this week. I can't do everything, but it was fun and I kept trying.

Today was an okay day. Did good with food, kind of. Only one snack and that was right after I got home from work. Walked for 45 minutes, but don't know how far. Can't seem to get the perdometer set right. Part of the problem is I am constantly changing my gait as I walked. :confused3 Don't know why I do this.

Was watching Oprah today and there was a part about the no texting, cell phones while driving. She fits that in a lot on her shows these days. I made oldest DS sign an agreement with us about no drinking, drugs, rowdy friends, etc when he began driving, but I had forgotten about it. I need to find that agreement for middle DS. Got a few things to add to it. :thumbsup2

Quiet tonight. DS had a swim meet and DH went after work. Got an award at work today for the Command Picnic I helped with a few weeks ago. Nice citation. No $$ thoughs. But the yearly awards are suppose to be in Friday's pay checks. I hope, perfect timing for paying off the resort for November. Payment is not due until October 1, but I'd like to pay it off now.

Glad to hear that the car shopping went well!:thumbsup2 That's a wonderful idea to have your kids sign an agreement before they get to drive. I like it!:thumbsup2

Congrats on the award!!!:cheer2: I hope you get some extra $$ in Friday's paycheck!:wizard:

I love Zumba!:lovestruc I don't always get the steps either, but it is a lot of fun!:cheer2: I read somewhere that a Zumba workout can burn 600-800 calories. Woohoo!:yay:

I hope you have a great day, Lisa!

I excited for your Disney trip for you. I would love to make it to the candle light processional some day. I always love it when I can catch a new expereince at the parks.

Hey Lisa! I just wanted to say thanks for stopping by my journal! :yay:

Also, I'm super excited for you that you're going to the World so soon! There's a little bit of jealousy in there too.

And I agree with you on the pretzel M&M's...absolutely evil. I bought a medium size bag right when they came out and proceeded to eat it in 2 sittings. I will comfort myself now by saying I wouldn't do that now that I'm trying to eat better...but we all have our little hiccups and bumps in the road!

Hello Tracy, Lola and Dana, hope everyone is having a good day.

Not much today. Usual day at work, but not too bad. Got my walk in but still not sure how far I am walking. Did 17 laps. My perdiometer just isn't working right. Every day I get a different reading. :confused3 oh well. If my timing is the same as last year, I am doing at least 3 miles in 40 minutes. Not too shabby.

Here's a good one. This was the conversation when DH came home this evening.
Me - Hi honey, guess who is the PTO's most favorite parent right now?
DH - oh no, what have you done now?
:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: He knows me soooo well.

Last week the book sale began for the elementary. DD went on Wednesday morning. We picked out 2 books from the flyer and I gave her enough $$ to buy a third one as I figured they would have more titles than what was listed. When she went they were out of the 2 she wanted and she said there wasn't anything else she liked. So instead she bought an address book for $9 and a pen for $5. I was not happy as this was a book sale, not a gift shop sale. The PTO has a facebook page and people had been leaving notes about the sale. My note: "I am very disappointed that items other than reading books are offered at the sale."
Oh my goodness!:scared1: You would not believe what went on after my post. The PTO board had a meeting about my post. They were so upset. :confused3 I recieved a message from the president saying she was sorry they "offended" me:confused3 to which I replied I wasn't offended, merely disappointed in what was offered. It was a book sale yet my DD did not come home with reading books. Then the secretary called me. She went on and on about how hard they worked and I could have been nicer in my criticism of all of their hard work. :confused3 She finally admited that while they didn't have to put those things out, they chose to, to make more $$. She also kept offering to order the books DD wanted. No thank you, DD spent her $$ and I don't have any more to give. The secretary did tell me that after my post several parents sent notes with their children stating exactly what they could and couldn't buy. And the PTO ordered a lot more cheaper books for the second week. So while I accomplished what I intended with my post (informing other parents), I think I hurt their total sales. and I royally upset yet more people at my DD's school. I seem to have a real talent with that. :headache:

Hi, eeyor44...I just have to post after reading your latest entry...I can totally understand what happened with you & dd's school re: your entry on their FB page. This sort of thing happens to me too...some people...or groups, esp. elementary school admins (I've found) don't really want anyone's opinions unless they're glowing ones. They get pretty defensive! Sounds like what you wrote on the FB page wasn't even a criticism, just a comment that you were disappointed...geesh, people! Relax.

Just wanted to say that I think you had a valid point (my dd is in high school now, but I remember thinking the exact same thing during elementary book sale time!) & that I'm sorry that they all got so ruffled by it.

Lisa, I totally concur about the EVIL PRETZEL M&Ms!! I just can't buy them anymore as I have NO self control around them.

Great job getting a good deal on DS car. Car shopping is no fun!!

Also glad you spoke up about the book sale. I would have been quite perturbed as well. BOOK sale should sell BOOKS, not junk!!

Have a great weekend!!

Sorry to hear about the Facebook drama with the PTO. :( I'm glad that you spoke up about the book sale. :thumbsup2 I think a book sale should be about selling books. If they're going to offer other items, they should be book related (i.e bookmarks, book covers) and more affordable too.

How has the rest of your week been? Any special plans for the weekend?

Lisa, I am so glad you got rid of your headache and boy do I understand that pain! It just makes your whole body hurt. I am laughing about dd playing possum in your bed, that sounds like something my dd would do! Both my kids would go through stages where they wanted to sleep in our room, then they'd be fine. I always figure better to have them sleeping in my room a few nights then tossing and turning and up and down in their rooms.

So glad ds got a car! That must be a big relief for everyone.

I hate those school book sales with a passion. I used to volunteer at ours and it would make me so mad the way the school would give the kids these "wish list" sheets with about tem or more lines. So first the kids would come in and shop around, make out their lists with all these books then take that home to mom and dad who would then either have to say "no you can't have that many books" or write out a very large check. To me it was our most lowly fund raiser. So good for you posting on facebook! I also agree with therriau4 that most PTO folks don't want any other opinions. Then they wonder why nobody wants to get involved!

I hope while your brother is here this weekend things get a bit more settled. That sounds like a tough situation, I am so glad he is coming. Hang in there with that one.

The PTO drama sounds like a drag. I hope you are not letting it get you down. I'm glad my DD is too young for "real school." I'm not looking forward to all that sort of stuff.

I'm glad to hear you are fitting your walks in. It gives you a little time for yourself too!

Thank you everyone! :goodvibes You all have made me feel so much better. :grouphug:
The new fund raiser for this week is school t-shirts. Three designs are offered, girl, boy and Mom. No Dad. :confused3 Last year there was one basic design for everyone. I so bad want to know why they specifically left the Dads out so I tried to do "as suggested" by them and send a PM on the facebook page. That option is not available. I noticed that all of their notes keep mentioning email, yet the address is never posted. I finally found the email address buried in the meeting notes from August. So I sent an email Thursday evening asking for the design for Dads, haven't received a reply as of yet. Think I should go back to the main facebook page? :rolleyes1

Thursday I was able to walk 40 minutes at work and then 30 minutes at the soccer field. DD began practice Thursday evening. One of the parents said something about how fast I was walking. :thumbsup2 I did have a pretty good pace going. Good to know someone noticed.

Friday was an off day. Had lots of errands and searching for one My Lil Pony tshirt. During my search I ended up at the mall. Rather decent in size with 4 anchor stores and about 60 smaller ones. I walked the mall, went into 5 stores (didn't buy anything) and back to my car in 35 minutes. I think I would have been faster had I been wearing tennis shoes instead of sandles. I finally ended up making a Pony tshirt. Bday present for my friend April's DD. My DD had a friend spend the night so they could watch Camp Rock 2 together. They got bored and ended playing in another room about 30 minutes before the end of it.

Today, was spent doing the usual Saturday stuff. Cleaning, errands, bday party. No walking today, but I have been watching my food rather well the past few days. Mainly portion control although I do think about what I eat also. Really working on minimizing the snacks. :thumbsup2

Hi therriau4 - thanks for the input, I really appreciate it.

Goldcupmom - yes those MMs should come with a warning label. I detest car shopping and thanked the salesman profusely for making this sale so easy.

Tracy - Thanks. No special plans this weekend other than getting the garage and guest room cleaned up. Great fun, uh?

Amy - my DB didn't come. I realized that it was his DD's bday weekend and I told him not to. He is going to try to in a couple weeks.

lolakat - just wait, your turn is coming. The funny thing is, I normally just send in whatever they ask for and to most fundraisers without a problem. I am finally trying to be more involved and my input is not appreciated......:lmao: Yes, I  my walks. and now that cooler weather is on the way :woohoo:

I hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day weekend.

Well, back to work tomorrow. :sad2:

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Ours was busy.

Sunday was spent at home. Tried to clean but just didn't get very far. I really need a week off with no one home. I can really get some cleaning done when I am by myself with no interruptions.

Pick DD up from April's and ended up with her DD coming home with me. Both girls begged and then they fussed most of the way back to the house. :confused3 :sad2:

Nice evening outside though. Cool, low humidty, it was great. The girls stayed up watching a movie and then Chloee was up at 6:30am:scared1: We went to a friend's for lunch and her DH grilled. It was real good, I ate too much and then couldn't get the kids to take a nap. None of them would go for it. :confused3 They wanted to play outside. Finally got my nap after April came for Chloee.

Here is a bit of news to share. My friend April is planning to go with me in January for the 1/2. She is very excited about the trip as she has never flown, never gone on a trip w/o her family and since she now takes care of her parents full time, is looking forward to the break. Just a bit of a glitch for the 1/2. She may be pregnant. Now we are very happy about this, but she will be about 5 months the beginning of January. She is in excellant health, very active, walks a lot and has begun training. She is determined to still do it, and since we just walk, she should be okay. We'll just have to see what her doctor says.
