Saturday 30th December - Universal & Bubba Gump
As tomorrow is NYE and we will be out all day at MK the family have a bit of a lie in while I get an early start on the packing. We have done a phenomenal amount of shopping and although we bought 1 practically empty case with us I still think we may struggle
DH gives his brother a quick call (they arrived in Orlando the previous day and are staying in Kissimmee) and we arrange to meet up the following morning to spend the day together
The kids decide they want one last trip to Universal Studios a good choice as we arrive to find park quiet. We start as ever with the wonderful Shrek this time made all the better by the reaction of a group of teenage first timers behind us. They were all boys but they shrieked like girls at the spider bit from there on to Jimmy Neutron and MIB where DS gets the high score (thankfully) He is now fully recovered from man flu but has sadly now developed a bit of a wind problem and gaily toots away then runs off leaving whichever poor member of the family he was with to take the blame (oh to be 10 again!) this doesnt bode well for tomorrow when he joins forces with his cousins
DH & DD go off to ride the mummy whilst DS & I pay a sneaky visit to two old friends of ours from Vermont ..... Mr Ben & Mr Jerry to be precise. I swear him to secrecy just to see how long before he blabs (about 10 minutes)
We skip over to IOA and quickly to Hulk & Spiderman then have lunch at the Fireaters Grill of kebabs. Its a scorching hot day so we take a leisurely stroll. Again DH & DS give the log riders a good soaking (number 5 is the best squirter gets them right in the face) and we finish with a churro & ride on Cat in the Hat
We decide on Bubba Gump for dinner and expect a long wait as its now 6.30 we are surprised to get seated straight away and are eating in no time. Our server is impressed that DS knows how many Dr Peppers Forrest can drink in a day (15) the food was excellent we had garlic bread as an appetiser followed by New Orleans Shrimp for DH (which he still raves about now) I had Lt Dans Bourbon soaked shrimp, DD had a T-bone and DS a burger we skipped deserts as we were all stuffed and headed back to the hotel for an early night watching POTC on TV while I finished the packing
