Hi all,

Does anyone know if you can buy a lighter at Disney. Since you can't bring a lighter with you one the plane, it should be fine if I can get one at the resort store. If its not for sale at the resort store, maybe they sell it in the Downtown area?

Thanks,

Marcel.

Only place where I have seen lighters, matches and tobacco, is Sousa's in Disney Downtown westside, its a cigar store.

Wouldn't one of the convenient stores have them? You know the little sections each resort store has with food and basic ammenities? And for sure that downtown Disney store has them. I don't smoke but collect lighters (Odd I know) and I have a few from WDW's DTD.

You can put lighters in your suitcase that you check in.
Lighters can't be carried on and cannot be in checked luggage either.
But you can take matches, go figure. :confused3
All the convenience stores in the resorts sell them along with cigarettes.

You can NOT put lighters in your checked luggage for flights!! It is a flameable substance. It can explode in the pressure in the cargo hold.

Please if you do put in checked luggage let me know I don't want to be on that plane :cool1: or under it.

I believe you can purchase lighters at the airport also.

Have a great trip. Tell Mickey i'l see him in May.

I don't think the resorts sell cigs. at least i didn't see them. I don't know if they sell lighters. I would get one at the airport before leaving.

My DH bought Cigarettes a POP last January. You have to ask the cashier and they are under the cash register well hidden. Though I do not remember if they sold lighters. Only American cigarettes and being Canadian it is hard to get use to the taste.

All of the resorts have cigarettes for purchase. They are located right by the cash registers in a drawer. They only have a few brands and I don't remember what they were. They have matches free, with purchase.

I didn't know that about the Cig's. sorry , didn't mean to give out wrong info.

Wow I didn't even know you couldn't bring a Lighter on a plane. But it's been a few years since I have flown anywhere. But it makes a lot of sense.

I just returned from a long weekend and brought very sharp sewing scissors through security and onto a plane to London. I had completely forgotten that I hid them at home from my little boy in an old makeup case in the pocket. I should have looked but absolutely did not remember putting them there. On my way back through Heathrow, I was stopped by the security people and it was mentioned. I said, "Oh no, I definitely am not carrying scissors." They, of course searched the case and found them. They were thrown out as I expected they would be. I have to say that I think security measures are taken much more seriously when I travel overseas than they are in the US. Threehearts

Hi,

Thank you for replying. It looks like it shouldn't be much of a problem to get a lighter or matches at Disney. Need to take matches also for the layover at Washington Dulles.

Gr. Marcel.

My fiance was able to buy a package of lighters (Bic) on the BoardWalk in July. I would assume the store at each resort that sells cigarettes would also sell lighters. The lighters are behind the counter and you have to ask for them.
