Le Cellier - My Truth About Series

Have you ever had the Spicy Chicken and Chipotle Sausage - with Roasted Corn Polenta appetizer? OMG! It is AMAZING!

My family LOVES LeCellier, they love steak, I go for the appetizer! YUMMY:love:

Actually, I could be wrong but I believe the Mushroom Filet is also on the lunch menu at least it is on all the menus that I have seen and I believe I have read of other people having it at lunch.

I just checked Debs AllEars and you are correct, the Mushroom Filet is now available at lunch. That must be a very recent change, since it has never been available at lunch before.

I've always said that it's a great deal for one credit on the dining plan but I'd never go out of my way to go there. Plenty of other places worth going that don't cause me a headache.

I think the OOP gave an excellent review and I totally agree with his comments. I would not pay OOP to eat at LeCellier again, but would go during free dining (if I could have gotten an ADR) for a good steak dinner. Since I could not get a ressie, I'm looking forward to trying Tutto and Coral Reef our next trip!

We also go to LeCellier on our WDW trips -(at least 3 or 4 trips... I dont like to admit how often we go to WDW!!)

the menu has changed (as it has all over WDW) and it does depend on the server - a make or break aspect.

Even the filets, sometimes you get a great filet, sometimes a stringy, not so great piece of meat!

The wait time is ridiculous! Always expect to wait over 30 min of your adr time!

and the bathroom! Seriously! Such a small room for this restaurant!

Sometimes this is the case for us. The most we've ever waited is 20 minutes, but even if we don't get to sit on a bench in the foyer right away, one usually clears out within a couple of minutes.

I have to say I agree with OP. We've eaten at LC twice. We all enjoyed it but waited 30+ minutes past our ADR time both times. Plus we were there 15minutes early so a 45 minute wait was a little annoying. Atmosphere was OK, pretty dark but OMG so crowded and tight. I felt like I could eat off the plate at the next table without even stretching. Service was very good forst time and just so so the next time. My steak was perfectly cooked medium rare, DH's was supposed to be medium well but was still a bit too rare for him. But he ate it anyway and enjoyed it. He does eat his steaks a bit more rare for well done than most people, but if he DIDN'T, he would have been upset. I loooved the soup, but I'm a big soup slurper anyway. I think it's a really good restaurant, one that we may try to book next trip but I won't cry if I can't get it. Now 'Ohanas is a totally different story.

OP, I would love to read more of your "THRUTH"ful reviews!!!

I agree with you that the tables are a bit close together. I haven't found it to be that big of a problem though.

Nice concise review.:goodvibes Our last dinner at LC made the decision to not go back pretty easy for us. The tables are way too close together. There were french fries on the floor, under and around, our table. Our server was pretty bad-my DM ordered wine (a rarity for her at WDW) and he failed to bring it. :confused3 My DM's shrimp pasta entree was too spicy-almost too spicy for her to eat.

Based on that experience I've decided that, for us, LC isn't worth the effort to book ADRs. And there are so many other choices out there. I'll leave LC to those who love it so.

I enjoy Le Cellier, but I don't love it. I think it is too crowded and the tables are way too close together. But, having said that, I've never had a bad meal there. I always go there for lunch on my last day. I usually make my PS for right when the restaurant opens, so ?I never have to worry about waiting past my PS time.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I have a question for you experineced LC patrons:
It seems that the wait for your table might be longer than other rest in the world, but how long is the wait after you order?
We'll have some small children in our group who might not do well with a wait after we order.

Thanks,
Heather

I don't think it will be any problem. It's long enough that you don't feel rushed, but not too long that you are just sitting around waiting.

I have been seeking to uncover a truth about LC, so I thought I would try to find out here...does anyone know if the "Chef's Favorites" (allears name) or the "Le Cellier Experience" (wdwinfo name) is included in the DDP? It's the choose one app, entree, dessert for $36.99 deal. I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. Thanks!

I'd like to get in there at least once before I die!! lol Everytime I go I'm trying to get a ADR and there are always NONE available.

Grrr!!!

We really like it, agree with the OP statements. On DP it is a great choice IMO. Its kind of small-but to be that hard to get (which it is), it has to be one of the better dining spots down there-keep trying.

I think it depends on your server and your experience at that time. We were just there this past October and didn't have a great time. Our server was annoying, very overly informative and we felt like we were being talked down to. The only reservation I could get was on Halloween @4:30pm. Too early but we took it. We were literally in and out in 45 minutes. To us, that's being rushed. We weren't on the DDP. We ordered the soup and it came out within 5 minutes of ordering it and within a few seconds of us finishing and putting our spoons down, our entrees came out. My DH's filet was cooked perfectly but I ordered the prime rib medium rare and it came out raw. My DH commented that even the bottom of the meat wasn't cooked. I basically had to fight with our server to take it back. I got a lecture on how medium rare is cooked and when I told him, I know, I eat my meat medium rare all the time, he then informed me the meat was slow roasted for 3 hours. I said, that's great, but mine is raw, take it back. Even with them taking my prime rib back, we were done with dinner in less than an hour. I think they are trying to get as many people in and out of that place to make a profit from all the people taking advantage of the DDP since the dining room isn't that big.

Good luck though and I hope you have a better experience than we did.

Great review and categories...well thought out. I'd love for a series, as you mention at the end of your post.

I keep reading that's it's a good value on the dining plan. Would anyone pay oop for it? That right there would tell me if it is up to the hype or not.

See my post above. We paid OOP and won't do it again. I think they've made it worse because of the dining plan. We were rushed big time and the food isn't that good anymore IMHO. We had a great meal there about 3-4 years ago before DDP and paid OOP as well but now I just don't think the place warrants the prices. Next time we are going to try somewhere else.
