How are you doing Alison? How's Fran?

I've had enough and need a Vacation! I've spent all day dealing with Chimney sweeps, Termite companies, Handymen, painters, digging out our dining room table and then a darned plumbing emergency that took up my afternoon. By the time I got back home to the computer I was exhausted. Now I'm dreading making dinner. I have to cook because of the amount of money we'll be spending in the next couple weeks, and we did drive by eatings for the last two nights! We need that loan to come through!

Fran is doing OK, I made her do all her exercises this morning. She doesn't want to do them, so it takes a lot of pushing. But if she doesn't do them, she won't be any better off than she was before the surgery. She's again fallen asleep in her chair covered in cats, yet again!

Alison don't take this the wrong way okay..Fran is a grown woman you love her but if she is going to not help herself or fight you then you are going to get sick...I saw my Aunt go through this with my Uncle...sorry I would leave her in the chair cats and all & when she wakes up stiff and witchy with a B she did it to herself

There really isn't anyone who can help, my parents are up in SF Bay Area, and Fran is all that's left of her family. Social Services are not there for people who own as much property as we do! The problem is we spent all our money paying for a 24-7 live in caregiver for her father (who didn't even deserve it!) for the last year of his life. Between that and the lack of maintenance that he did on the 5 unit building, I don't think we'll actually have a positive cash flow for that building this year! We spent 3 months of the entire building's rent rebuilding a bathroom in Feb/Mar, and I was actually in WDW when the intial accident happened!

The big question is will they approve us for the loan? We don't have jobs, just own properties. It's not like we don't have money coming in, but somehow it seems to get spent every month! The projected closing date is August 30, but that is pending approval.

My plan for dinner is Chicken Florentine/Deconstructed. Mine is the Florentine and Fran gets a piece of seasoned chicken and a bowl of nuked spinach, that's our compromise!

I guess I need to spend more time working on my computer as oppsed to hanging out on the DIS!

I know when to pick my battles, but if she doesn't get any better, my life will not get any better. I made her do the exercises in the morning, fully knowing that she would be wiped out and sleep in the chair all afternoon. From the amount of morphine she is taking, I'm surprised that she stays awake at all. I just let her sleep in the chair because it means that she is not online and not spending money!

I know the property market is not the best in the US right now but it sounds like you would be able to sell some of the property if you needed cash??

Hang in there....you never know what the banks are going to do.

Dinner sounds yum for you....and nice that you're able to compromise with Fran.

FB is to social for my liking...I like to know who my friends are...not friends of friends of friends! And I believe that they are or will be starting to sell your names to marketing companies; and right now there are no consumer protection laws allowing you to block the marketing messages on the internet.
