We have never been to Lamplight Lounge, and I was able to get a reservation during the mix-in period on our OBB night. I will be honest and say that I am a very picky eater so I have a few questions about the menu.

I have heard that you can order the Barbacoa nachos rather than the lobster nachos, is that correct? Also, as an adult, would I be able to order off the kids menu? I would eat the kids chicken but I’m not sure if I would be allowed to order it or if it would be a tiny portion.

Worse comes to worse I will order the burger, even though that’s definitely not my favorite thing to eat. Any insight would help!

Sorry that I can't answer your questions about the food but I can tell that it is a great place to have dinner and a drink. The views are great and so is the atmosphere. Plus they make an awesome Old Fashioned! Cheers

You will be able to order off the kids menu. You will just be given a double portion and charged double the price. I’m pretty sure you can only sub steak for lobster downstairs, I believe the barbacoa is only available upstairs. Also, it’s a great idea to eat at LL during the mix-in period. We did this and were SO glad we did. It was miserably crowded in the park during that time.

You can substitute chicken on the nachos, or at least you could last time I ate there. The Kung Pao Bao are so good my husband calls them "the pinnacle of Disney dining." And he is a very picky eater as well. My drink vote there is the Scream Canister.

The food at LL is all great.

I highly recommend the potato skins. They aren't like typical potato skins. They are like super crispy, smashed potatoes. Even a picky eater will like them.

The burger is also fantastic.

The kids meals are TINY. Even at a double portion, I'd not do that. There is much better food elsewhere if that is the case. Spending $20 for some chicken breast with dipping sauce and some raw fruits or veggies is a massive ripoff.

You can get the nachos either without meat at all or with Carne asada, usually. The barbacoa option is upstairs and they won't serve those menu items downstairs.

The stone fruit salad is also very good. It's pretty basic, but tasty.

Thank you!!! This is very helpful! I’m going to request to sub a different meat on the nachos and enjoy a cocktail 😀

I feel like this might be an unpopular opinion but I was not as wowed by it as I had hoped. The bao buns and the scream canister cocktail were great. The potato "skins" were okay but I was expecting potato skins and these were like crispy potato patties. The poke was very "goopy" which was a turnoff. Lastly, I had high hopes for the lobster nachos but the lobster honestly seemed like flaky crab bits and was kind of gray. The location and view was awesome though. For such a hard reservation to get I was just very underwhelmed and left disappointed. I enjoyed our dinner at Carthay Circle much more and even thought the Cocina Cucamonga was tastier. Just our experience though, maybe it was an off night.

I agree. I have had good food at LLL, but not what everyone else raves about. I don't get the appeal of the lobster nachos--I was totally underwhelmed. I've also never had a great seat location, possibly because we are just a party of 2? I enjoyed the cocktails and had a good burger and sandwich but it's nothing I feel compelled to get a reservation for.

I really wish I had gone with lunch or dinner. I have brunch which I know is super popular, but I am struggling to find something on the menu I am as excited to try as I would be for lunch or dinner. I’m keeping an eye out for a lunch or dinner, but not holding out hope.

Our last dinner at LLL was not great and we won’t be going back unfortunately. Absolutely love the location, but we have had 3 not so great experiences there in a course of a year. We kept giving them more chances. It was more service issues rather than food. We had a much more enjoyable experience at magic key terrace. Maybe our experience was just a one off, but the meal is too expensive for our family of four to continue to chance it. I hope everyone going has a wonderful time and fantastic service!

@Dug720 keep looking in the app! A lot of people will cancel as the date gets closer. I have good luck with dining the day before and now that they changed the cancellation period to two hours prior, I even check the day of and find times.

Ya know, I have to agree about the lobster nachos. We thought they were good but not good enough to order again. We were a party of 2 but felt we got lucky being seated at the end of the bar that allowed us to have angled views out to the park and not directly facing the bartenders.
Now I am seeing some neg reviews on the skins, egads. So many expensive options and with so few $$. But then again, when you are on vacation its time to splurge.

Definitely give it a try. I've gone twice and had the same thing both times. I loved it the first time, which is why I ordered the same thing, the Potato Skins and the Blue frozen cocktail. For whatever reason, it didn't sit well with me the second time and I don't think I'll go back. My daughter and her husband ordered other different items and they, too, were very bloated and feeling yuck after eating there. Not sure why that was, but it was enough that I would rather eat quick service.

Wow! After hearing a ton of + reviews going back to last year now I am hearing more - reviews on more than just the Lobster nachos. Is the DL and CA quality of food dropping before our eyes?

I don't think it has really changed. I had the lobster nachos before covid and didn't think they were very good. I just don't think I'm a lobster nacho kind of person, lol. Same with some of the other favorites.

But I had a really good lunch (though I've forgotten what it was--some kind of pork dish) and a great sandwich. I have rarely had very good service, though, and am always seated in a place that isn't very appealing except once when I went with a group of friends. We had a nice table that time so I wondered if it's because I'm usually with my sister and it's just 2 aging women lol.

We rarely make dining reservations but during the mix in time before OBB it’s always so crowded I wanted to be sure of a place to sit and eat before the party. Hopefully we’ll have a decent experience with food and service!

I'm another one who is taking LLL off the list. We ate there last month, it was our second time eating there and I did not like the food. My sister and I shared the potato skins and nachos. DH and DS had entrees but for the life of me I cannot tell you what they ate!

Looking at the menu, I think one of them had the Al Pastor pork and the other one had the Jerk Cornish Hen?

I had brunch there and we enjoyed it.

opps. I just noticed the poster was asking about dinner

We always get the potato skins and nachos with chicken instead of lobster and ask for a side of the cheese sauce that they use for the lobster nachos to dip the chips & potatoes in. The potato skins are more like crispy potato cakes, there is no skin at all. Get the donuts for dessert, the raspberry sauce is so good! For drinks we like the Open Ocean With A Splash (blue drink in the photo) & the Pinacolava (red & white drink in the photo.
