Ladies, are you EVER going to leave?? 10 days of Food & Wine fun! *NEW 1/29 PG 34*

All caught up!! I'm hoping catching up on everyone elses TR will inspire me to start mine :rolleyes1 At this point I can't come up with any kind of title!!

It looks like you were having a fabulous time!!! So many fun things and sooo many good drinks and food!!!

As for you hypothetical trip (:lmao:) I hypothetically think you should go for WL! First, it's my favorite resort. Second, it will be beautiful in December!! Third, I feel like it's always good to try something new!!

I have to say, I'm soooooooooooooooo jealous!! Really!!!!!! I nearly passed out on the floor when I heard on the podcast that Marty Sklar was going to be speaking at Disapolooza! I very quickly had a mini trip planned in my head! But then it occured to me that there was no way in the world that DH would go for it after the trip we just returned from and the trip in Jan. Hoooo hummmm!!!

I wonder if you'd get in trouble for video taping it ;)

:lmao: That is a very tempting option. Truly. I was really pretty set on canceling December but the idea of passing on an opportunity to hear Marty Sklar speak is making me rethink it. That's once in a lifetime. There's no photos, video or audio recording... wonder what secrets he's going to tell?! Can you IMAGINE what it must have been like to work with Walt?

IF I go, it'll only be for a few days. Come in late Thurs - hear him on Fri morning, hopefully do the TSM party on Sat and come back on Sun.

I am leaning toward BC (assuming there is availability). You're right I stayed at Pop and AKL last Dec. BUT WL is so Christmas-y. And there is the "wishing fountain" thing that MeMom found. I have a lot to wish for...

Oh these "tough" Disney decisions...

Sooo, did you get a spot at the Disney Institute seminar during this "hypothetical" December trip? If so, I'll see you there!

Your henna looks fabulous!! I love a henna! HOw long did yours last??

Purely medicinal...:lmao::lmao:

The pictures from France are wonderful! :thumbsup2 Excellent eye on those!

Hi! Found your TR from Charlston Princess's, I believe. We are going to F&W next year (staying at POR), so I'm very excited to hear all about your time there. Great TR so far! :thumbsup2 Looking forward to seeing more . . .

love it! I really enjoy everything about your TR so far, well except for the heat part, yuck! The part about the men playing KP cracked me up, you cant beat getting to feel like a kid again! :woohoo:

Thanks! :goodvibes It was HOT. But so fun. As long as you are willing to take breaks, hydrate :rolleyes1, and find shade you're in pretty good shape! The "boys" playing KP were adorable and when the CM asked how the agents were doing it was like the commercial and I could see their inner eight-year-olds coming out! :)

We were sitting there just a couple of weeks ago eating one of our F&W goodies, too, but I can't remember exactly which one. It was one that I took a small bite of and went off taking pictures while Jill ate, so I can't remember.

I do remember taking pictures of a pretty butterfly in those bushes, though. :)

Yeah, boy! :cool1:

And how I bet we both wish we were back there now!

I love that you take pictures of your view while you are enjoying your food and drinks!

Are those your shake and bake sandals I spy on your tootsies? How did they work for you? I love the Henna design. I really need to do that next trip.

That picture of the Bellini is just gorgeous!

Your towel animal is so cute, one of the best I have seen!

Good eye- those are the shake and bakes. Although I have to report that they gave me a blister and that is the one and only day I wore them.

I was SO impressed with the Henna artist and all the choices. It lasted more than a week!

Medicinal slushies? I am so using that from now on! :lmao:

Your henna tattoo is great -- I will have to remember that design for next time!

You did lots of good eating that first day of Food and Wine -- I agree -- I really liked the tables they set up as well!

Totally medicinal. You don't need to go to med school to get that! Dr. McDreamy would totally agree. And hopefully prescribe me a whole lot of something else...

I've been waiting for you to start a TR since you were over reading my April TR and I saw that you were going for the F&W Festival :rotfl: I'm a little late but I found it and I'm in! Goin to get all caught up :surfweb:

Hi! :welcome: Thanks for coming over. We're just getting started (slowly) here so you haven't really missed aything! Sigh. F&W is just the best time of year to visit. :cloud9:

Wonderful Epcot pictures! I love the sky that day: clear blue with just a few lovely clouds to add some structure to it!

The slushie from FRance is wonderful, I need to put that on my must do list for January!

What a fun Halloween Mickey ears hat! :thumbsup2 The photopass discount sounds interesting, what kind of deal was it?

Thanks! I did get lucky with the weather some days. Although I often notice things in the pics when I get home I didn't notice when I was there!

I think the photopass deal was 20% off the standard rate.

Another great update!!!! I just love the passion you have for Disney!!!

Love the pictures of the food looks so yummy!!! I really wish I could be back at Disney eating Disney food!!!!

Medicinal LOL!! That just cracked me up!!!!

I wish we could be back eating Disney food too! ::yes::

Medicinal. Yes. That wasn't supposed to be funny. Do I need to show y'all a Dr's note? ;)

Oh, you are giving me the first day "goose bumps". I love the first day, too. Unfortunately, all my kids-free trips have been so short that I try not to get so excited the first day. Because in just a few days I don't want to experience that "almost over" let down.

I know this feeling so well, too. But you know what's so funny. I can always tell who is just starting there vacation because they have a spring in their step and I smile on their face. When I get to the end of my trip I feel like I should be wearing a sign that says.... "I am only running this slow because its my 5th day, my muscles ache, and my feet are covered in blisters".

Loved your update, but I have to wait until I get home to drool over the food and the drink pics.

Aaaahhh.. the first day goosebumps. :cloud9:

Yum Yum Yum!!!! Looks like a delicious (and refreshing) morning :thumbsup2

WS is SO beautiful and I love how you soak it in. Someday I WILL get to F&W (and maybe even stay at BC so I can use "your" entrance)

For what it is worth, I vote for keeping you WL ressie in December. I know you love BC and I see why but I think part of the fun of frequent Disney trips would be trying different resorts.

F&W 2010? I'm just sayin'... :rolleyes1

Love the tattoo you got! I'm adding that to my list now!

Denise

I was so impressed with the # of designs available and the speed and talent with which she could execute it. Really cool! :thumbsup2

Thank you, thank you! That was the most relaxing stroll through F&W..... I felt like I was right there with you!
Outstanding update!
I need a drink.........:rolleyes1

I need one too, Wig'd. Meet you in the BC lobby? ;)

Wow that was a mega post!!!! I have been immersed in work but glad to catch up and read it all! Great food porn photos, I really liked your bellini on the table in Italy -- great photo! I also caught on to your possible trip in December??!!! Cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I say Wilderness Lodge, definitely. Save BC for the F & W next fall! :thumbsup2 So cool that you might go again!

I wanna go RIGHT NOW. We'll see about Dec..it's around the corner so I'd best decide real soon!!!

Ohhhhh! I just saw your pics and they are so fine, especially the ones that involve consumable goods. Yum!

Thanks, MEK! :goodvibes

can't wait for the next update! oh I i really need to got to F&W.

Hopefully coming tomorrow or this weekend. F&W is definitely a must-do!

That's all I need - living in infamy as the girl who secretly recorded Marty Sklar...:rolleyes1

Sooo, did you get a spot at the Disney Institute seminar during this "hypothetical" December trip? If so, I'll see you there!

Well, my friend, indeed a I did score a hypothetical ticket. Now I just need to make it happen... would be great to see you again!

Your henna looks fabulous!! I love a henna! HOw long did yours last??

Purely medicinal...:lmao::lmao:

The pictures from France are wonderful! :thumbsup2 Excellent eye on those!

The henna lasted almost a week and a half! :thumbsup2 And that is with showering and shaving everyday (is that TMI?? :confused3)

Medicinal cocktails have no calories nor nutritional value! :thumbsup2

:welcome: I hope I can live up to the standard of a CP family TR! :goodvibes Thanks so much- glad you are enjoying it! :goodvibes

-----------------

Hoping to upate soon - tomorrow or Saturday morning. Thanks for your patience!

Sigh, great memories of September! As the leaves fall and the skies darken earlier and earlier, it all seems like another world, but your TR brings it all right back! Even though it was so hot that walking through Epcot was sometimes an endurance run, I would take a little of that hot right now!

Kim Possible definitely delights at least some adults, and seems to be so-so for others. I loved all the puns and silly ideas, and seeing all the things hidden around the countries. I would have been mad for it if it had been around when I was an actual kid.

I want a taquito right now!!!

Sounds like the perfect way to start your trip....except the heat!! All the food looks sooooo yummy.

I laughed out loud at the KP "How's it going agents?" part! Another reason why Disney World is so great! :goodvibes

A taquito right about now would be heavenly! AS would Illuminations. :cloud9: It is fun to relive the memories, isn't it? Another blessing of the DIS.

I thought KP was super fun but not sure I could do it all day. One mission was enough.

AHHHHHH! How did I not know you started this?!!! Going back now to read!!! Slow down so I can catch up!! LOL!!;)

I don't know how you didn't know?! Those four princes of yours are keeping you busy, I guess! ;) No worries- you haven't missed much and there is plenty more to come! :)

The heat was something else but I certainly found ways to mitigate the effects. :rolleyes1 And I'd go back to it in a minute if I could instead of this weird November weather we've been having.

I swear those two men were over the moon that CM said that to them. It was adorable!

Shhhhhhh!!!!!!

I am trying to be subtle...

You are not helping....

You two are funny! :goodvibes

I will say now that I have very few pictures from this evening. But that is not indicative of the fun I had. Just my laziness . So I had lazed around in the room at BC for a while and then had to hit the road to make it to the MK for our 5:40 ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern.

I was a bit late (who’s surprised?) but thankfully Heather had checked us in and we hadn’t been buzzed yet . I hadn’t eaten here since I was a little girl so was excited to experience it again. While we were waiting we had fun catching up on the day’s events and also looking at all the awesome costumes. I was struck by how many groups were in themed costumes. We saw a Toy Story family with the mom as Jessie and the Dad as Woody, a Peter Pan family with the mom as Wendy and the Dad as Captain Hook – wig and all, a few Flintstone families, a Muppet group and many more that I’m not remembering. Perhaps my memory is faulty (good chance!) but it seemed like there were a lot more people getting into the costume spirit this year vs. last year. And I couldn’t help but give all the dads extra credit for their costume efforts. Especially the Capt Hook in his full regalia.

Before too long we were buzzed in. Does anyone else remember when they used to announce “the Smith party from Connecticut” or whatever your last name is and wherever you are from? Not that it would have made sense for this meeting of DIS’ers but it was a cute Colonial touch that I remember getting a kick out of as a kid “they just said our last name and where we’re from! :hyper:” It didn’t take much then and it doesn’t take a whole lot more now.

We were seated at a round table by the stairs to the restroom and server station. Primo location. ;) Except for the fact that it dripped. On Janice. I didn’t notice til toward the end of the meal and she was a super good sport about it but apparently there is colonial air conditioning in there and the humidity was causing condensation that was dripping on the table.

The restaurant was quite busy and while we waited we had fun chatting and sharing our Disney stories. It struck me, while we were sitting there having a grand old time, that none of us would even know each other were it not for a Disney obsession and several thousand posts on an internet message board. Who’d have thunk?

I thought I had food porn but apparently not. You’ll have to check out Heather or Janice’s reports for that, I guess. For those of you who don’t know, dinner at LTT is served family style and is a fixed menu. We started with some bread (always my favorite part of the meal!) and then some salad. Then comes the main course, colonial Thanksgiving style: turkey, mashed potato, macaroni and cheese, stuffing and some sort of vegetable – green beans, maybe? It was fine. The company & conversation far outshined the food quality but that’s ok. I’m glad we went. Apple cobbler for dessert. :thumbsup2

Before we headed out into the Kingdom, Janice and Bill were so nice to share a special little treat they had brought. They are from NYC and wanted to share something both Disney and New York. Isn’t this pin the coolest? The subway doors actually open and close! Thank you so much! I have it on the bulletin board in my entryway and it gives me a smile each time I pass it!

And the back of the pin is even signed… I presume by the artist?

After dinner I think we decided to skip across the street to visit the Haunted Mansion. As we did we were asked to show our wristbands (CMs seem much more into checking these than last year), which we happily did and went merrily on our way. It was a spooktacular ride, as always.
On our way out:

From there I think we decided to head into Fantasyland to try some kiddie rides. First up, Peter Pan! Bad pictures, but they’re what I’ve got and are better than nothing!

Cinderella was apparently heading to another ball tonight

DSC01489.jpg

I think that at this point Janice and Bill were going to break off and hit some rides during the first parade while Heather and I decided to find a spot for the parade and meet up with Lynn and Chuck.

We found a good spot in Frontierland and “staked our claim” on some curb space approximately four butts wide. :rolleyes1 Remember this . Before too long Lynn and Chuck joined us; they were giddy having come from an exclusive meet and greet with Snow White and all seven dwarves!
Apparently it was quite a line to wait in but sounds like it was totally worth it. I hope they do a TR so we can see some pictures!

Here’s a picture of Lynn, Heather and me waiting for the parade to start.

DSC01490.jpg

As the parade started (and the below is my one picture from this parade) a mom encouraged her two kids to squeeze in front of us. :headache: Now, I love kids. I don’t want to deny them anything. And to tell the truth if I saw a kid straining to see, I probably would insist they stood in front of me. But to have a parent show up two minutes before the parade and send their kids in front of us without any conversation??? UGH. Just b/c we’re old, we’re still all kids at heart and just as excited about this parade. But the kids stood in front of us and we didn’t really say anything. Hope they enjoyed it.

DSC01493.jpg

The parade was as fun as ever. The headless horseman went much more slowly than he did last year. I still couldn’t get a picture this year but it was still at a much slower speed. The grave diggers with their shovel sparks were still my faves. The “good to be bad” band seemed to have lots of fans… I’m thinking these male CM’s have lots of female CM admirers…. You would have thought they actually were rock stars. :rolleyes1

After the parade it was time for Pirates of the Caribbean. Chuck had told us a funny story while waiting for the parade of how they’d been on POC heading for the “big” drop and a woman a few rows ahead of them completely freaked out and literally tried to exit the boat shrieking “oooh, my weave.” So it was with several weave jokes that we embarked upon our POC journey.

Image0229.jpg

Then we headed to stake out our Hallowishes spot with a small detour for a Dole Whip.

We found a spot by Crystal Palace that was away from the throngs of people and was perfect as far as I’m concerned. My one picture:

DSC01496-1.jpg

We made friends with a very cute little girl who was there with her mom. She was fascinated with Heather’s snake costume and was having the best time.

After Hallowishes, which was awesome. We headed into Toon Town. Possibly for the last time?

This made me think of Jackie:

We tried to hit every trick or treat stand we could find. Now, while I applaud the thought of handing out healthier treats, I couldn’t help but feel badly for the “poor” CM who was stuck a few feet behind each station and was handing out…. raisins.

The four of us agreed that the TTA/Wedway People Mover was a MUST DO. The CM’s were having a great time jamming along to the dance party that was going on for the Halloween party. They were busting a move. ;) We had a great time riding through. At that time it was still the “old” narration; I’ve heard that it has since changed. It was weird and a little creepy to go through the Space Mountain section.

After the TTA I think we rode Buzz Lightyear. Heather kicked my patootie.

Then it was over to Main Street where we did a little pin shopping. Lynn got a cute MNSSHP pin. The 2nd parade was coming through. Lynn, Chuck and Heather were gearing up for more rides but I just couldn’t do it. I was tired. So I bid them adieu and tried to get in front of the crowds I knew would be exiting after the parade. I think I just made it and as luck would have it the bus was waiting. I remember laughing to myself to these parents who were “yelling” at their kids not to fall asleep on the bus b/c they couldn’t carry them. Ummm… it’s 11:30pm and I want to fall asleep-- of course the kids are tired!!

Up next:
Holy hotness and I’m not talking about the waiters

WIGD!!!! IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We got ourselves a NEW update!!!

:lmao: :lmao:

Oh boy!
