That is so SMART! I think I will copy your idea! I was thinking.. a pair of shoes for everyday!

That is the problem I was having, instead of having a diff pair of shoes for each outfit, one pair will suffice for most of the outfits. I am planning on just putting the hook part on the shoe and the loop part on the attachment. Kinda like the old-fashioned clips for women's dress shoes. This way I will have them all ready made up and ready to just switch out every day. I figure the hook part will hold up better to dirt and more switching out.

Re: your question: I use a really close zigzag...like a .3 on my Brother. I also use a Sulky brand stabilizer ironed to the back. Some use a tear-away, others a cut-away. Go very slowly on curves. Once, you are done you can always go back and fill in bare spots by hand.

Carrie772 - Yes, Alabama - I teach at Oxford Middle School, 7th grade science - DH is also a science teacher at our high school. We were there last year the same week - it seemed more crowded on the weekend and Monday - seems everyone now has fall break. Tues, Wed and Thurs didn't seem quite as bad.

Can't get to Joann's until Friday (our Walmarts don't carry fabric) - got to find the Mickey swirl and come up with something safari looking to make for Animal Kingdom. In the meantime - I'll clean out a few more closets, and keep looking all the pictures you guys keep posting. It's over an hour one way so I can't run back easily and pick up what I forget - the list keeps getting longer and longer the more I look at these pictures.

I have a question about the fraying of 'appliques'. You know how you stitch around it just inside the edge for it to fray intentionally... I'd like some tips about how to do that properly from those of you that have done it.


Now a favor, I'm gonna have to ask that no more posts be made until Thursday . That should give me time to catch up with reading everything! I've been at the softball park all night, and it's getting ready to storm so I'm done for tonight.

BTW dd8's softball team just played a double header and won first place in their tournaments!!!! DD scored the winning run!

livndisney - I really like the sundress you made with the pink Mickey fabric. I'd love to try those, but I don't know the first thing about the gathering part. Oh well, one thing at a time! I'm still amazed that I can make pillowcase dresses, twirly patchwork skirts & halter tops!!

OH I'm sorry, didnt you see the copyright little circle thing in the corner? KIDDING! Go right ahead, that would be adorable especially if Dad wore a shirt with Pluto on it too. I didnt fancy mine up too much, like I said, wanted her to to be comfy first and foremost. The heat is my main concern so I kept even the embellishments as lightwieght as possible. At an indoor thing, you could wear the fluffy underskirt with it. I free hand drew Pluto, so cant help ya with much other then it is the basic circle skirt cut longer with elastic.

NOW SHE WANTS TO PUT THE DARN THING ON..... Ignore the messy hair and bare feet. Stubborn child. Oh and the string in the flower bed(stupid ppl across the way wanted to mow down all my flowers..yes there are flowers in there, they just havent bloomed yet)

This is how long it will be on her.

LOOK I MADE A TWIRL SKIRT (inadvertadly...but I made one nonetheless ) Disregard rough seam..still need to trim in spots.

When we go down she has a pair of white tennies that I will put some velco dots on to change out the decs according to outfit. They will be made out of fun foam so if she loses one, no big deal. (I'll carry spare Mickey heads since they match everything) The last day is our MGM day so I will precut some black fun foam to make them look like saddle shoes. Now I just have to remember what saddle shoes look like

OH Thank you! I made myself finish Arminda's Bambi skirt before I let myself check the board again to see if you had pictures up! I'm done with the skirt (except I still have to adjust the elastic, and the little stinker fell asleep allready!) and YEAH they are up!! It turned out so adorabley!!! I just love it! She is going to get so much attention in that!!!

I love the twirl picture!!! And, I like barefeet, she looks adorable!!

When wanting something to fray don't cover the entire area with wonder under or heat n bond, leave that area free, otherwise it doesn't fray right. When I did the baseball shirt, I cut a rectangle slightly smaller then the fabric, so it would nicely fray. I still need to trim it up, but it worked much better then when I tried to make my Diego overalls do it.

What is the best way to attach the ribbon loops to the bottom of pants??! I am almost done with my 1st pair of Capris for my DD. Once they are done we will post!

I used fabric glue and than went around the leg with my sewing machine. Just go easy on the glue. I used to much on some ribbons and it made a mess.

Ok, and will any fraying fabric do ok? I use mostly 100% cotton, and I know I've seen flannel fray nicely on a rag quilt.

okay, lets see if this works. This was my daughter as Annie last year at Halloween. She even carried Rocket and I think only two kids knew who she was I'll get my Minnie and Nemo outfits up tomorrow.

OMG that is too cute!! My Emma would recognize her in a heartbeat, she loves Little Einsteins and has Annie on her toothbrush!
