What are Fish Extenders?

Welcome aboard! pirate: We're glad you're posting on our Meets Thread!

There are no dumb questions on the DIS boards, and all of us are more than happy to answer any and all questions! :goodvibes The links below will give you more information than you'd ever want to know about Fish Extenders (FEs). :thumbsup2 Basically, they are made of cloth and have pockets (similar to a letter-holder). DISers hang them from the silver fish letter holder beside the cabin door, thus earning the name Fish Extender. The purpose is to hold all the surprises and goodies from other DISers participating in a FE Exchange. :)

A thread that explains Fish Extenders:

We hope you'll decide to join in on the fun! :flower3:

also add "Janet" (on the board) to the list of people.
Janet and Kenny from FL. She is still trying to catch up on the messages! They are on deck 8 with first seating for dinner.
They will be celebrating their 34th wedding anniversary while on board. They were on the Med 070707 with us and also 2005 Mexico cruise. Fun couple!:woohoo:

I have read with interest the postings to date, and have today placed my deposit on the July 6, 2010 cruise. The 4 of us (me, wife and 2 daughters 11 & 14 have previously travelled on the July 18/07 Med cruise.)

We are booked into a category 4 stateroom, but do not yet have a room assignment.

I guess this qualifies as getting my Christmas shopping done early...

Greg

DH & I are taking this cruise as well.....already counting down the months!:woohoo:

party::welcome:party:

Welcome to all the new folks joining us on our cruise! There are going to be so many DIS'ers on board! This is sooo exciting! :)

I know there is no such thing as a dumb question but...

How do you quote multiple posts?

GCLPC (Greg) - welcome to the thread! We also sailed the 7-18-2007 Med cruise as did several other DISers here on the 7-6-2010 Baltic!

disneyfortwo - welcome, too. And I added Janet (as in Janet and Kenny) to the front page as well.

I cheat! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Actually, I opened each thread individually and then cut & pasted the urls. :thumbsup2

Some people are unable to post websites. It's my understanding that you have to have a certain number of posts in order to post website urls.

Good morning, please feel free to use anything. Yes we're looking forward to next years cruise, just DW & I as it's our gift to each other for our 25th wedding anniversary. Our sons lost 4 days at the begining of the school year for the EB PC, but what an adventure, don't know if they'd have learned as much as they had about the countries we went to had we stayed home. All the teachers were very nice and the principal would only give us her blessing if we took her with us.:goodvibes

Be well.

Jack

We were also on the EB PC and our kids lost 4 days of school. It has certainly come back to haunt us. I had to change our Thanksgiving plans because I got a note from my DD's school that if she missed two more days this semester she would loss a full letter grade in each class.
Not great for a HS senior applying for colleges.

Next to the button labeled "Quote", you'll see another button that looks like this
multiquote_off.gif
. Click that button on a post and the button will turn red. When you finally click reply, every post in that thread that you turned that button red on, will show up quoted in your reply.

I didcovered that when i first started posting when the 2010 itineraries were getting ready to be released. I am unable to post photos. I don't know why. I did the whole photobucket thing and everything. Bummer bc I wanted to post my DS Jack dressed like Darth Vader for Halloween.

:yay: You rock! :worship:

I cut and paste. :lmao:

That's what I used to do - and just put the quote tags before and after.

With photobucket, I just copy the IMG tag option and paste it directly into the body of a DIS message. I don't use any of the DIS buttons for it - just paste in the tag - starts with the IMG in the brackets and ends with the /img in brackets.

I tried that for this reply - woo-hoo! I never knew about that feature! Guess that's my "something new" I learned today!

Hi Guys! I'm probably a stranger to most here but I do skim the thread - I am on this cruise but am getting super busy with the holidays coming around - however, I need some help if anyone can it would be greatly appreciated:

Hey Guys,

Need your help, got an idea yesterday. You all know that I sponsor 2 soldiers right? Well, I've been in a state because I recently had some packages returned. My first thought was that something had happened. I haven't heard from any since before May but I plod along as usual assuming they get the packages as they have never returned.

So last Monday, one package came back. Finally heard from on organization and they reassigned me to another. The other organization does not have anyone right now but DESPARATELY needs help for some wounded soldiers at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center I believe in Germany?????

Anyway, they are trying to fullfill a request from the Chaplain over there -they want to hand out 500 Christmas Stockings and she only has 30 pledges right now. I believe with the economy being the way it is - she may not get this request filled. I, myself, am committed to 3 and I thought - what better way than my DIS family to try and help.

So, here is what is needed. This is a one time project and much simpler to committ to than a one year writing committment. All that is required is stockings with some items in it to be mailed before Thanksgiving and if using priority mail - by December 1st. HOWEVER, even if you miss that deadline, please mail it. The organization likes to hand out the stocking to wounded soldiers around Thanksgiving. Last year this lady orgainzed 1000 stockings.

So, if anyone is interested, please PM me and I will give you more details on what to buy and who to write too to get the address. You all know for security reasons I will not post it here but it is of vital importantace that we help our wounded if we can. Also, don't feel like you can't help if you can't sew - I am DEFINITELY not a sewer but we have this wonderful Dollar Tree Store that sells stockings for $1. That I can do!

Thank you all for listening!

:goodvibes

If interested - please contact me via PM or e-mail and I can suggest what to send - and what not too - also, the Post Office has some flat rates for military personnel and you can probably get 2 stockings in it for less than $10 to mail.

Thank you for your time!

Was very interested in seeing that while we are on our Nothern European cruises, the sun will be out close to 20 hours when in Oslo and St. Petersburg... Ahhhh... The land of the midnight sun!

One of the things I am looking forward to most is the late sunsets from our veranda. I am sure you have seen it, but check the Links & Info page of the website, I found the estimated sunset times.

Cindy, thank you for the photobucket tip...

I looked at your photo and I think you all did first seating at WB? Also we never got chance to chat too. Were you all in group photos? at WB.
