I looked at your photo and I think you all did first seating at WB? Also we never got chance to chat too. Were you all in group photos? at WB.

Scottishwee35

We had main dining at 6pm...sat with Vicki and Greg. We never officially met you, but i recognize you. We were not in any of the group photos. DH wasn't that active on the DIS for our trip. I am very new to the DIS...became active when the Baltic itinerary was suspect. DH signed me up in January, and I didn't even know it. Just today I finally learned to successfully post pictures. Will post Jack's Halloween photo later tonight or tomorrow. I am on my DH's computer. it will be nice to officially meet you in Europe.:)

That's what I used to do - and just put the quote tags before and after.

With photobucket, I just copy the IMG tag option and paste it directly into the body of a DIS message. I don't use any of the DIS buttons for it - just paste in the tag - starts with the IMG in the brackets and ends with the /img in brackets.

I tried that for this reply - woo-hoo! I never knew about that feature! Guess that's my "something new" I learned today!

Was very interested in seeing that while we are on our Nothern European cruises, the sun will be out close to 20 hours when in Oslo and St. Petersburg... Ahhhh... The land of the midnight sun!

One of the things I am looking forward to most is the late sunsets from our veranda. I am sure you have seen it, but check the Links & Info page of the website, I found the estimated sunset times.

Cindy, thank you for the photobucket tip...

this is us on the WB Panama Canal on pirate night

WOW It works!!!!! Sorry I just had to try it. :thumbsup2

Found something interesting today. You know how beds in the States are much bigger than ours in the UK (and of course we only usually have one bed in a hotel room)? Well I found some measurements today that some might find interesting

US King size = 6' 6" x 6' 8"
UK King size = 5' 6" x 6' 3"

Some might like the advanced notice!

Good morning! I sent my child to school wearing shorts today. It is supposed to hit 90 degrees and very windy. Hopefully we won't have to many wildfires.:scared1:

Oh dear about wildfires.

Here at Scotland - very cold - send my childrens to school this morning with warm coat, hat and gloves.

I think it will be very bad windy raining tomorrow :sad2:

It's rainy here today, too, in north Florida. 5thGrader wore sweatpants and a t-shirt but probably should've worn shorts. 7thGrader is home with a cold.

One of my coworkers asked me if I had booked this trip - she knew we were considering it. She has been to several of the ports so it was fun to talk with her about it.

:wave2: Everybody -

Just wanted to post a big

THANK YOU

to everybody that pm'd or emailed me regarding the Christmas Stockings for the wounded soldiers in Germany. I got about 12 responses from everyone and many have pledged to do more than 1. I told Nancy that my DIS family would help and they certainly did. Thank you all and before I forget - have a save holiday season.

Now, if your still interested, please pm me or e-mail me and I will send you the info.

Thank you again and you may now return to your regular scheduled programming.

:goodvibes

Ah I see and I have met Vicki and Greg and they gave black mickey necklace to my daughter at Panama. What a nice of them. I feel sorry for Vicki that she had an accident at Mexico. I hope her arm is getting better.

Did you see two interpreters on the theatre? We had them twice for Med and Panama and we don't know if we will meet them at this Cruise.

Finger Cross hopeful we meet them again as they were so funny and very good signs. Amazing that different from us from our Country that we are using two hands as they are using one hand.

We will meet up this Cruise okay.

I am very much looking forward to it. My DS was very interested in why you talked with hands. I had to explain to him that some people are unable to hear. He is touching on it a little bit in cub scouts this year. Vicki's arm is getting better. She did end up having surgery back in Virginia followed with therapy. she is now well on to the road of recovery.

Aye I know and heard that lost 100 houses. :sad2:

Scottishwee35

in Santa Barbara. that is a 60-75 minute drive for us. but the wind cand do crazy things with fire. it is not uncommon for the wind to carry the sparks and the sparks wil ignite another area and so on. that is why i get a little frightened when the wind gets strong. we have been in our house for almost 8 years and have had to ecvacuate twice. never a real threat to our homes in my neighborhood though. just a pain in the tuckus.

Thanks...there are also TWO different King size beds in the US....
The Standard King or Eastern King is...76" wide x 80" long
The California King or Western King is....72" wide x 84" long

Guess we are all taller in California!!:lmao:

LOL!! And neither one of those matches the dimensions that Shaun posted. So, evidently, we yanks are more screwed up than we realize! LOL!!

But at least our version of English makes more sense than their's does. I consider US English the version 2 upgrade. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

(Sorry, always bantering back and forth with my Brit colleagues over that. They complain that it's bad enough we stole their language, but we don't even speak it properly.) :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

...it's bad enough we stole their language...

Now I can't let this go without comment!!! ;)

Perhaps we could alllow you to use our beautiful language, but just ask you to pay us a small tax if you do? We could ask that of the Australians, South Africans and all the others around the world too! And then, with our economy booming like never before, Britain would once again be truly Great!!!

Mwah-ha-haaaa!!!! (Evil movie villain cackle)

Sorry Fin we are paying enough taxes here already! LOL!!

I checked air fares from Chicago last week for the heck of it. Mostly found $1200 approximately to be the cheapest. I did see SWISS air flies round trip to the UK so might look into that one..we'll see.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! John is going to put up our Christmas lights today since it is chilly and windy, but it will only get worse here in Chicago, lol. I have started early shopping so might even start early wrapping here so I can pile them over in a corner for now.

Roast beef on the menu for dinner here today. Invited mom over so we will have a nice afternoon/evening.

I give you some perspective it is a lovely 29 degrees here in Minnesota with chances of snow over night so I will be sending my kids to school in parkas. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Our Christmas tree is going up today, too -- at least assembled (9-foot, pre-lit) but not decorated as I don't want to go up in the attic to get the decorations out. We have plans for nearly every weekend between now and leaving for our holiday cruise so if we don't get the tree assembled today, it won't happen.

Nathan missed two days of school but because a couple of his teachers use this new-fangled internet thing for posting their assignments (and one even posts their powerpoints and handouts), we're having 7th-grade-science in the dining room today. He's calculating speed and velocity, distance and displacement while I'm catching up on DISBoards :)

I read that several were on the wait list for main dining. We were also on the list. Half of our group (Monstro) was on main and half was on late. DCL told me to keep calling back to check on our progress. I called this week and was told we were already updated to main.

Tell Nathan that Deb :teacher: said if he gets stuck on his make-up work to "look it up"! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ;)

(To everyone else on this thread, I thought I should clue you in that the above comment is an inside joke from last April's spring break cruise when I had the great fortune of hanging around with Cindy and her two awesome sons. :) Ahhhhhhhhhh, good times, good times!)

Awesome! Congratulations! :thumbsup2

We actually requested late dining. We don't have small children, so we didn't want to take up any spots from those who prefer main dining. :)
