Good morning all (or afternoon to those who are hours ahead of us in FL).

I have updated the first page with the new DISers who have joined our thread and also included information from Threebritts (Heather) who has graciously taken on coordinating Fish Extenders when the time comes to get serious about it. She has also offered to create Mini-Navigators for our use which will include a schedule of planned events (like meets, lunches, exchanges, pictures, etc.) so we'll have something handy to use on the trip to be sure we don't miss something we wanted to attend. Thanks, Heather, for taking that on.

I've offered my boys the opportunity to make some money for themselves and their trip-jars this weekend. Our cars desparately need washing and I was thinking of taking them through the $8 car wash. But instead, I am offering them the chance to do it at home. $1 for water/supplies, $4 for labor, and then the other $3 can go into their jars. If they wash both cars, they'll each earn $4 for their own use and $3 for their jar. If they don't take me up on it, I'll just have a dirty car for another six months :)

Hey - if they turn you down, tell 'em I'll come down and do it to earn the extra trip money!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Hi everyone! I was reading on the DVC boards this morning that many have had flights over the coming months decrease in price. In some cases, it was a substantial amount of money which they have been calling and getting credit back for.

So we have hope that flights may come down some more...watching and watching here..

Hi everyone!

I just booked this cruise yesterday for me and my FH. It's going to be for our honeymoon/10 year anniversary. I'm new to the board, but I've cruised on DCL four other times (Bahamas 1999, Eastern 2002, Western 2005, inaugural Med 2007). We'll be on deck 7 (7537). FH and I are very excited and we can't wait to go! We had such an amazing time in Europe last year. Before the Baltic we'll also be going on the Eastern again next year, so that will help the wait a little bit.

It will be great to meet you in all in about 20 months :)

:woohoo:

Carol - that's awesome news about reductions in airfare and getting credit back. Whew - I'm hopeful that we'll experience the same thing for 2010. I won't expect to see the change until we're within the window for when they can buy their bulk seats... but hopefully it will be significant enough of a drop to make a difference / cover an excursion or so!

Deb - Nathan took me up on the car wash deal - for one car. Gary ended up doing the other one.

My down-the-street-neighbor said she would help me do a yard sale in the spring if I want to do one (she had one today but I just didn't have time to get myself together). She is in a better spot in the neighborhood to get traffic, so I am going to take her up on it.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Yeah! Thank you Cindy!

That sounds great Heather!

Your boys can come over and wash our cars too! They need it!

Thanks Keggy and nzdisneymom for making and doing the posts!

People are already sending pms for me to add them and thats great. Ill just add them to the sheet. When sending just say how many kids and adults participating so when we do the teams everyone gets something in the cabin. I know we'll have people bring little things extra for the kids too. Dollar store stuff is always fun and easy to pack and the kids usually dont care they just like finding the "loot".

I love the "Viking" mickey ears!Wonder if we could do shirts with that and our
"Pounds to Ruples" on it?

I feel like I have pages to catch up on. I have been so busy at work that I barely get anything done at home at night let alone get to the internet. I guess with the economy being what it is I should be (and AM) glad to have a great job with a stable company. Although it has been a tough year to work for a retailer. {I don't like to post the name but think red bullseye}

I thought about the board yesterday when I spent the afternoon at the Mall of America with what seemed to be a million other people. The good news it is a really cool Mall. The bad news is that when you need to run over and look for a dress for an upcoming semi formal event you cannot just dash in and out.

One thing I was told before we flew in for our move to Europe last year is to take a picture of each of your bags with a paper on them with their dimensions. Keep the digital camera with your carry-on. If you have a lot of luggage, sometimes it's hard to remember what bag is missing. When I flew to Germany, my husband was already here so I had 3 very tired children and 2 missing bags and very little brain function. Since we had 12 bags total, I couldn't remember which was missing. It took quit a long time trying to remember and I was wishing I had done the pictures. I don't know if that will be helpful for you since I doubt many of you will be bringing 12 bags on a cruise.

That's a great idea about taking pics of your luggage. On our first cruise, one of our empty suitcases was way up under the bed and we didn't find it when we were packing up. I thought we were really tight packing up and once I was done, I counted suitcases and realized we were missing one. So we checked up under the bed again and there it was - it was just further under the bed than I had checked. Whew! More room for souvenirs (LOL). Actually that's what made my packing take too long and I missed the Til We Meet Again in the Atrium because I was trying to pack it all into one less suitcase.

Before we went on the Med cruise, I took a picture of our suitcases just because I couldn't believe we had packed so condensely.

One thing I do when traveling is take a picture of my children each morning before we head out. That way if anything were to happen that we were separated, I would have a recent picture and what they were wearing, etc. Plus it's a good "marker" for me for knowing it's the beginning of a new day in our pictures :)

Here's to another great week ahead. We are off work and school tomorrow so today feels a bit odd.

I made a scan of our passports and carried them separate from the real ones...just in case we lost ours. Also I contacted the embassy(?)or state department and gave them our itinerary and emergency numbers. I will look for that contact and post it as we get closer.

Like the idea of the pics of the kids.....who can remember what someone wore in panic mode?:confused3

We always have more bags on the way home because we pack bags inside bags on the way....have to get the extra stuff home somehow! The picture is a great idea to remember...

Good morning everybody!!!

Have a great day!!!
