We have friends sailing with us on this cruise that were on that cruise as well!

They were able to save a lot by booking onboard!

I see that you will go to Caribbean next year 12 Sept 09 as I know few people will be on that Cruise as they were on Panama WB Cruise with us as let you know that they are so nice people. Don't miss the Pink Champagne as I had so much fun. Also I know Jennifer48 which I met her first time on First Cruise Wonder as she emailed me that she will be there.

We cannot go because school told us no more off school as we took almost 4 weeks off last May for Panama as it was our first time to do that. We got told not to do it again. However that we cannot afford it now as we are looking forward to this Cruise

Good morning, please feel free to use anything. Yes we're looking forward to next years cruise, just DW & I as it's our gift to each other for our 25th wedding anniversary. Our sons lost 4 days at the begining of the school year for the EB PC, but what an adventure, don't know if they'd have learned as much as they had about the countries we went to had we stayed home. All the teachers were very nice and the principal would only give us her blessing if we took her with us.

We are glad that this trip is falling nicely into our summer so that we didn't have to worry about school issues, although I will say that our middle-school has been great about absences for family trips that involve going somewhere that is travel-related more than entertainment-related.

The boys opted for pizza from Dominoes last night so I was going to give them the difference between take-out and dine-in-at-our-fave-pizzaria but DH used the difference to buy a DVD (Indiana Jones 4). Oh well - guess what I won't be giving him for Christmas

We are nearing our holiday cruise so my attention is split between that and this... our holiday cruise is STILL a surprise for the boys and I am so hopeful that I can keep it that way.

I'm not really sure yet. My original thought was to just get in the car and go and see when they asked where we were going. When we drive to Port Canaveral, we can go to Jacksonville and then head south on I-95. When we go to visit my parents, we go to Jacksonville and then head north on I-95. And we are planning to visit my parents after the cruise, so telling the boys that we'll be spending part of the holidays visiting their grandparents is a true statement. On the other hand, we're also planning to visit Kennedy Space Center on the Saturday we get back from the cruise and we've talked about that, so they know we'll be heading down that way. And we may just let them assume that's what we're doing first - going to the Port Canaveral area to go to KSC before going to Grandma and Grandpa's. ... also true statements. They just don't know that we'll be taking a cruise first!

I booked the Christmas Cruise in February 2007 so it has been a long long time for me to be quiet about it. Since I booked it, we went on the Med cruise and also a spring break 3-nighter. And now of course we have the Baltic to look forward to. We've told the boys there won't be much in the way of holiday gifts this year which they think is because we're saving up for the Baltic (and we have a Royal Caribbean booked on Freedom of the Seas for next Christmas that we hope to not cancel - and the boys DO know about that one).

What I really want to happen is to get to the port area, check into the hotel, and then meet up with some of the other DISers who are traveling with us and tell them then. But I told Gary that as long as I can not tell them until we are all four in the car and have left the driveway, then I'll consider myself to not be a blabbermouth

I booked the Christmas Cruise in February 2007 so it has been a long long time for me to be quiet about it.

And I thought waiting for our cruise was long. A secret for 22 months is an awfully long time. Power to you.

My DH tried to keep the WB PC a secret. I begged to take it and was consistently checking the site for available cabins. I would inform him of cabins, and he would just shrug. Well, I was paying bills one afternoon in late summer and saw a payment to DCL on his business acct. I fessed up and he played the game well. Said it was only a deposit and wasn't sure if we could go. So I tried desperately to get him to tell me which itinerary it was. He wouldn't say and just smiled. He went so far as to have us buy a Jack Sparrow costume for pirate night and had yet confirm to me that we were indeed cruising. Finally Christmas rolled around and he gave Jack and me a Disney backpack. Told us to look inside... all the cruise info and low and behold the itinerary!!!! he had booked first day and had kept it secret.

YAY!!!! I got a snow day today. This is actuall our second snow of the year but the first to stick. Of course now it is all gone and back to work tomorrow. It was nice to have the day off though.

I have read with interest the postings to date, and have today placed my deposit on the July 6, 2010 cruise. The 4 of us (me, wife and 2 daughters 11 & 14 have previously travelled on the July 18/07 Med cruise.)

We are booked into a category 4 stateroom, but do not yet have a room assignment.

I guess this qualifies as getting my Christmas shopping done early...
