July 2, 2005 - WE ARE THERE!!!

I know how to get my DH to wear the lime green shirt...I'll tell him it's a engineer convention on board. I'll tell him, "No, this isn't a Dis shirt, see the pocket in the front for all your geek, I mean engineering gear? This is for all the engineers on board" Talk to you all later..Off to find a lime green shirt that will fit a pocket protector in the front pocket. :magnify: :rotfl2: Amy :flower:

As long as I can keep my Engineering hubby away from his laptop and don't buy any internet access during the cruise (to prevent him from checking his e-mail) I'm sure he'll wind down from the stress (I'm sure the massage I've booked for him will help too). ::yes:: I too am at home (when I'm not shopping) trying to "organize" our house while the boys "disorganize" it.
 Planning meals, :confused3 helping with homework (school gets out for us 2 days before we cruise) :teacher: shuttling kids here and there. Just think, in 3 short weeks, I will not have to plan ANY meals for an entire week!   It may just be a "points free" week too :goodvibes Just one big happy family :jumping1:

Think positive here... no seasickness or flus, :faint: wonderful weather, :sunny: :cool2: all will have our docs, and all will have fun! :thewave:

Now, time to call the TA to find out why docs aren't here yet, clean the house, plan dinner, and run to the store before the kids need to be picked up from school. :goodvibes

Welcome to Ashlle and Knowledgeonpaper
Still no doc's, but I did find the cute travel size Tides today at Target only $.99. They say that they will do 4 loads each which is probably correct since the machines are usually smaller than mine at home...
Ds is also a teacher, well not quite, he will start his first job when school begins in the fall. I am going to strongly suggest that he attend the Mix and Mingle for 18-25 year olds.
Still have found nothing green for me and everyone else in this group says "no way". What a bunch of stick in the muds I live with!
I can't wait to meet you guys, my family is really getting sick of all of my cruise and DL talk. It will be great to be around people who have the same love for Disney that I do...Oh, don't get me wrong, they also love Disney, but I LOVE DISNEY.
Happy Friday everyone, Angie

I'm allergic to something in Tide, but Dollar Tree has tiny jugs of ALL liquid detergent for those interested.

I'm getting these little packets of powdered detergent (SA8) just the right size for 1 pkt. per wash-load (38 cents/packet) from a friend of mine. They pack easily and slim chance of spilling them. More room for fun stuff! :cool1:

Ashlle - Welcome!

Finally - I would like to start a count of who wiil make our DIS MEET (# in the family) -- It is set for 3:00 on Saturday. Finalization of meeting place will be made this weekend.

Jim

3pm on Embarkation day works for us where-ever it is decided.

Also, did we ever set a time or details with Ron (legalbriefs) to meet in the Roy Suite? As much as my kids would love to see the suite, I'm thinking that due to the size of the group that we make it a "kid-free" event (I'm just thinking about the ages of my kids here). I'd go for whatever sounds good to the rest of you...remember, I'm the indecisive one, I mean I'm flexible. :goodvibes Any thoughts? :scratchin

Hey Jim, I think your are lacking our breakdown on family/age etc..
We are Amy/38, Brice 37 Kids: Kenny 8 (Tomorrow :bday: ) Abby 6, Melissa 2 and Grace 1...MIL (Grandma) Pat age..I let her tell :rotfl: SIL, Tiffany 30 something, Her boyfriend, Jeff 30 something, Tiff's kids Jacob 14, Arrianna 9.
We're are doing the Paradise Beach Break in PV, Randi in Maz and probably walk around Cabo. We have Palo Brunch Mon @10:30 and Dinner on Wed @7:30..

As far as just being a Disney Geek...That will work A geek is a geek!! :rotfl2:
I was just looking at your list and I think I have the 2 youngest. Do I win some sort of prize?? :cheer2: Amy :flower:

First I would like to welcome Ashlee to our group.

Jim,

We (my family and Wendy's (AOIP57), our sons, and Wendy's parents) have changed our Palo brunch reservations since there was a conflict with the DVC meet. Now we have brunch for 11 am or 11:30 am on Monday - will be cancelling Sunday brunch.

We will definitely be at the meet - will speak/ask the kiddos. You are doing a great job with the list Jim.

Someone asked about Palo dinner availability - last time we checked the only reservations available were for Saturday. Keep checking for cancellations.

Since we are on the subject of tide/laundry detergent (I miss the tide tablets) - do not forget to bring tons of quarters - well if you do laundry like me - at least three a day. If I remember correctly too - the dryers took a while so you will definitely need more for this.

I hope Legalbriefs is still planning on giving us a brief tour -

Okay, what's all this talk about laundry. :confused3 It's not much of a vacation if I'm still doing laundry. If I pack twice as much after I buy twice as much maybe I won't have to do laundry...

This male bonding thing is cute but not until after the 4th of July. Note to self-Diversion is off my compulsive planning list for DH until July 5th. :rotfl: :rotfl: (nice picture of the glass) My DH is going to enjoy this group.

I'm the daughter of a teacher, daughter-in-law of a retired superintendent of schools, sister of a teacher, 2X sister-in-law of teachers, I've taught 1st-6th Grade. No, editing nor revisions allowed!
Husband in aerospace-configuration management engineer/analyst :wave2:

DIS meet 3 o' clock somewhere above pinnochio around deck 10---I'll just follow the limegreen shirts. Count the longfamily in. :cool1: :cheer2: :earsgirl: DH (44), DW (37) DD (7)

Jim, that's a great list. You are amazing.
I'm thrilled to see another 7 year old girl. We have to get the girls together. My DD's last day of school was today. She has a friend over now for a playdate. Her summer has officially begun. :cheer2:

Jim.....awsome job on the list. You just earned another Crown and Coke.

Do I even want to know what a aerospace-configuration management engineer/analyst does? That must also be a hell of a business card :rotfl: :rotfl:

No plans for the weekend, Arlene is bringing rain to us all day Saturday.

Amy.. :bday: to Kenny.

Note to self....I have Sat and Sun to get to Karen's DH to warn him about July 4th!!! :teeth:

Dave

longfamily
My daughter is 7. Her name is Madeline. I know she will be happy to hear about another 7 year old girl. She is signed up for the club with her younger brother John. I am hoping they love the club so DH and I have some free time.

Darcy

Dave... oh, I will come back to you.

Darci,
I'm believing Madeline and Kennedy will love the Oceaneers Club. I will start mentioning your DD name to my DD. :flower: We're from LA,CA where are you from?

Okay, Dave... Since DD will have a friend in the club, I will keep DH occupied. Yea, that's the plan. :goodvibes :goodvibes 4ht of July t-****rs will be safe.

The job title, don't even ask me what he does. :confused3 :confused3

ooops, That was supposed to read- 4th of July t-shirts will be safe.
Who's the teacher in the family?
Suggestion add spell check to the board. :)

Welcome Ashlle & Knowledgeonpaper! :flower:

Longfamily--My laundry idea was to send it to laundry services, but I like your idea better--buying more is better than washing more, isn't it? And if I'm going to spend $$$$ for someone else to wash it, why not just spend the money on something new instead? Thanks for the inspiration!

Can you explain: "Husband in aerospace-configuration management engineer/analyst"? My DH is a senior engineer for a "major aeronautics company" here in Northern California--he works in their pharmaceuticals division. Until he started there, I never realized that pharmaceuticals were made at the same place as rockets and rocket fuel. Hmmmm....kind of scary, that is. I imagine all our engineering DHs will have lots to talk about, even if the rest of us don't really understand what they're saying. (I'll refrain from geek comments, in the unlikely event that DH begins reading this thread. This would be me if he did: :faint: )

Jim--Great lists! Thanks for all your work. As long as we get on board by 3:00, there will be three of us: DW, DH, DS, all in lime green. I love that DH and I are in the "average" age group for adults. Someone told me recently that "40 is the new 25." Sounds good to me!

I am glad that everone is enjoying the new list. I thought it would be very interesting to see how the group breaksdown. :grouphug:

Dave, YOU ARE THE MAN - I am counting how many CHROWN AND COKES I have earned. By the way, I will help you by distracting KAREN (alias - longfamily) so you can warn her DH. You know us men have to stick together. pirate:

Karen, I agree, I sure do need my spell check!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO KENNY :bday: :cake: :bday:

OK it is now settled: DIS CRUISE MEET will be on Saturday, July 2, 2005 @ 3:00 pm on DECK 10 above Pinoocchio's Pizzeria ;)

I am making list as to who, will attend. If you have not done so, please let me know if you will be there.

One final thing, would those of us who are doing excursions on our own (Canopy Tour & Randi's) like to meet somewhere on ship so we can go as a group. :moped:

Thats all for now -- Jim

WHERE IS Ron (LegalBriefs) & Dave? It is now time to plan our PARTY in the ROY DISNEY SUITE.

I am so excited to get going and sailing in the sun.
I figured that I would stop and say something because I am slacking in meeting people before the cruise. Anyways I am Zebramom and Azptcruiser's other daughter. I'm 18 and since I haven't met really anyone my age to hang out with, I'd love to meet people!
only a few more weeks left to go. yay!

WELCOME buginarug (cute name)

Would I suggest that all those who have young adults on this thread - make the DIS MEET on Saturday @ 3 - You can all meet each other and start the cruise experiece - Don't forget to wear your lime green shirt.

Jim

hi ! well we recieved 1/2 of our docs today. me and laura . hope ddh dana and dd alison get theirs tomorrw. by the way dh, dana, is a mechanical engineer, works in nyc.. for a construction consulting firm. mickey waffles were a big hit at the school bfast, so it was worth my time and effort . 4 more days of school! welcome ashllee my dd alison is 20 and is looking forward to meeting you. well got to go to bed we have a parade to attend for laura hs in the am early.

Welcome buginarug!

Needalatte, I like the way you are thinking. I didn't realize you were going to send the laundry out. I vote for spending $$$ on more clothes and saving the work for home.

Nope, can't supply job description. DH told me to say its 'Quality.' Like that helps... Ooops, just kidding Jim and Dave. Didn't mean anything by it.

Note to self... Watch out for two DIS DHs talking to my DH. DWs I need your help. Remember Girls Rule. Okay I'm qouting my daughter now.

Jim, good idea to meet for Randi's. I'm game. I already dropped a pair of old jeans in my 'to pack stack.' Oh, how that stack is growing. :cloud9: I completely forgot that my DD may want to swim or get dressed before July 2nd.

:cheer2: Three weeks from tomorrow. :hourglass
